Quiet cabin with a lake view! Enjoy this amazing retreat. The rustic wood beams, hardwood floors, and stone wood burning fireplace add to the charm of the Fishing Bear Lodge. You will have access to our docks where you can go swimming, fishing and even kayaking. During the summer months we do have rafts available to use as well in the lake. Life jackets and fishing poles are available upon request at the lodge for you. After a fun filled day relax in the hot tub as you listen to the sounds of nature.

Cozy Cabin

We were pleasantly surprised by some of the upgrades in the cabin that were not shown in the pictures. This cabin has a very homey feeling, rustic with modern touches! Beautiful view of the lake!

Simple classic lake fishing cabin.

This was a good experience overall. The sunrise is amazing over the lake. It needs some updating and a dishwasher but thats part of the appeal. Overall id stay there again.

great location, well equipped

The house and location are great. The town offers all you need to make for a great trip. outside the house and in the master bedroom you could smell sewage. I don't know if the homes have dedicated septic or community sewer. you 100% could smell sewage in the location of the home.

Wonderful view of Lake White!

The cabin had everything we needed. And a great hot tub on the deck. Lots of room on the deck to enjoy being outside too. And the sunrises were amazing! Connie responded quickly to all our questions. And we appreciated the recommendations for local restaurants.

The house was since, just wsh they would have said the lake was drained 2 years ago and not back up to level of they pictures and we could not fish from shore, The handrails on the deck are loose, the mircowave will only work when somethng is plug in to the outlet next to it, there is some electricla problem, could use TV in the living room and no not required but even with just two steps if you walk with a cane, there is nothing to crip

Charm but things to work on

This “Lodge” is charming. The decor is adorable. The view is outstanding! There were surprises which were disappointing but easily fixed. I have stayed in many VRBOs and usually refrigerator and kitchen cupboards are fairly clean and emptied. These were full! The oven had so much burnt food at the bottom that we spent one morning cleaning the oven. The bedroom dresser was full..every drawer! Nowhere to unpack our own clothes. Although extra towels and sheets were promised, they were limited. One washcloth in entire house. Drawer that was supposed to have sheets for hide a bed has 2 fitted sheets thrown in drawer..nothing folded, nothing matching. Window blinds broken and missing in main floor bedroom and main room. No privacy at night and nothing to keep sun out in morning. Frying pans were very stained and old. These are all easily fixed things. The location and decor are great. Perhaps guests should be warned that the spiral staircase to the upstairs bedroom is narrow and slightly scary.

Cabin Get Away

Recently spent a week at this beautiful cabin with several family and friends. Things could not have went easier or better. Cabin was gorgeous, clean, well maintained, location was picture perfect, the owners (Connie and Jeff) were extremely helpful, gracious and accomidating. We can't wait to go agian!!!

Hidden Gem

We just spent a wonderful long weekend at Fishing Bear Lodge. We spent most of our time enjoying the view from the large wrap around deck. The inside was quaint, super clean, and the beds were very comfy. The photos don't do this cabin justice. My husband's only complaint was there's only one TV in the master bedroom, with no local channels that we could find. Luckily our weather was perfect, so our group didn't need it. We'll definitely visit again.

Pleasant stay

Very nice cabin that suited our family fine. Sleeping arrangments for 8 were a bit tight but I knew that going in. We appreciated the extras like a refrigerator stocked with water and supplies for smores.

Peaceful retreat

We truly enjoyed our time here. Absolutely loved the lake view. Cute decorations throughout the home. Completely peaceful and relaxing. Loved sitting on the patio with a fire enjoying the view. The hosts were very nice and quick to respond to our questions.

Safety concerns

First, let me start off by saying the house is fantastic. Very clean, all three beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all the basics. The hot tub and hammock were both big hits, as was the bingo game. The down side for our family was the outdoor area. The new patio is 6' off the ground w/o rails and 5' beyond that is a 20' drop to the water w/o rails. No direct water access for swimming or kayaking. Long walk, down steep steps. Partial lake view from the deck is great but trees block a lot of the view.

Bed bugs!! Bed bugs!! We didn’t get a full refund and my poor 4 year old autistic daughter is ate up

The first night we found a bedbug. We talk to Connie she had a exterminator come out within a few hours. She said to leave our stuff sitting out and this would help the problem and the last renters could have brought it in so she knows there is no chance that it could be a full infestation.My daughter went home after the first night we found a bedbug next to her.I did not know at the time that she had got over 20 bites on her bigger than quarters blistered up. I sent her home to her dad and later that evening her body started reacting to them. The exterminator sprayed Connie said if we stay outside for a hour then it would be OK To go back in and problem solved. Problem is not solved! We stayed out in the hot tub all evening letting the spray air out because my mom has COPD and asthma. Long story short we got ate up that night when we went to bed my 11 year old niece has over 30 bites on her whole body she has 10 bites on her face she woke up and they were crawling on her she found nine of them crawling on her she had to start squeezing them to kill them. She come downstairs and woke us up. We called the owners and asked for our money back we were leaving that day the whole place was infested I had bites on me also but I’m more worried about our kids!! Connie would not give our full refund amount back she gave the one day that we did not stay. She told us we looked like we were having a lot of fun in the hot tub and my niece out on the porch dancing. She was watching us through the security cameras that was supposed to be for us we had a monitor inside the house. I had my bra on out in the hot tub I was very upset to hear of this information. We had our stuff in the dryer trying to get it rid of bedbugs From the time we got there until 4 PM on Mother’s Day when we left. She said if they were so bad why didn’t you leave until 4 PM. Because we had to run for peoples things through a small dryer so we didn’t take them into our home. She was super nice to us because we were super nice to her but as soon as we asked for a refund she became this different person. My poor daughter has to go to the hospital because where She is four and autistic she has scratched them and she has deep scabs and blisters all over her body including her face wipes ointment off. My 11-year-old niece is just as bad, she had to go to the doctor also. This Has traumatized us all I cry and have a mental break down every time I see my daughters body!! Do NOT Rent.plus no refund

Fun and Beautiful Lake Front home

Loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the beautiful lake views! We had a great girls trip, and the hot tub was amazing and clean. Sleeping arrangements were a little tight with the six of us, as we were not originally aware of the blow up mattress in the downstairs bedroom was a double bed. But we should have reached out earlier as the owners were great with communicating and answering any questions we had.

Beautiful cabin!!

This cabin was nice and clean! It was roomy and fit our family of 4 (2 teenage girls) perfectly!! The hot tub was definitely a highlight! Very quite and peaceful location!!

Wonderful Getaway!

Our family had a wonderful time at Fishing Bear Lodge. We enjoyed the amazing view of Lake White from the porch in the early mornings and at night. The house was kept very nice and had all the basics that we needed for our stay. We enjoyed grilling out, using the hot tub, the fireplace, walking to the docks, and fishing. We even took a short drive to Scioto State Park and took a couple hours to hike and explore. Connie and Jeff were amazing communicating with us if we had any questions. I would absolutely recommend staying here for anyone looking for a low key scenic getaway.

Clean and cozy

The pictures do not do this place justice. It’s immaculately kept, the beds are comfy and the views are great! It was a perfect girls getaway. We loved the hot tub too!

Comfortable and well equipped

This was a lovely place to get away for a few days. Great view of the lake. Very comfortable seating area in front of the big stone fireplace and very comfortable bed. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. It had everything we needed plus whimsical bear decorations all over the house.

Awesome House!

Stayed for our annual guys trip. The home was super clean and accommodating! Great deck with awesome lake views. Just a short walk to the dock for fishing or relaxing. The owners were great to work with and responded quickly to all of our questions. You won’t be disappointed!
