The host called us personally and was very informative about places to visit, shop, and eat! We had an excellent conversation and the home was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the fireplace!

This place is fantastic – exceptionally clean and easy to find, making for a smooth and comfortable stay. Access was a breeze, which is always a plus. The only thing to note is that it's about 40 minutes from Timberline Mountain. But overall, a great experience!

Such a perfect location between Smoke hole caverns and Seneca Rocks! Walking distance to the famous Triangle Rock! Very spacious house. We LOVED having coffee and conversation in the breezeway. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable! We even got to meet our host, and he was most accommodating! Will stay here again! Book with confidence!

Pros: If you’re looking for somewhere spacious and affordable, this is great. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a washer dryer. Hosts were communicative and the wifi is strong. Cons: Its creepy. There were bugs inside the house somehow. The beds were super uncomfortable, everyone woke up sore the next day, it has 2 showers but the water smells like copper. We had to go to the local gas station for bottled water to brush our teeth it was so bad. There is a random timer going off all the time that we couldn’t locate, it felt like a haunted house. All of the plug outlets half work, you can’t plug up the lamp and your phone at the same time. You can hear every single car that goes past the house. A/C is inconsistent in the bedrooms, one room colder than the other, we sweat all night while others froze. The property itself is outdated but the outside is beautiful near the river and it’s close to Petersburg and Cabins.Book here if you don’t mind a kink in your neck and smelling like a penny. Be sure to purchase extra strong coffee because you won’t get any sleep here. We probably won’t book here again until there’s some major updates to the property.

Enjoyable getaway

We had a hard time finding the place, but thoroughly enjoyed it. The house was well built. It was a total throw-back to the 1970's. We mostly enjoyed star-gazing... the sky was so clear and full of stars. Great time!

I want to start by saying I have been staying in this area for over 20 years at the same cabin, we changed this year to have access to WiFi for calling home. When I arrived at Bear Paw and opened the house, it was extremely musty inside and I had to open the windows to help air out the house. The water supply is from a well and tastes and smells horrible. You smell worse coming out of the shower than you did before going in. There is a washer and dryer present, when we used it, the drain line from the washer became dislodged and flooded the laundry room. When I notified the owner I was told that never happened before and he always watches the washer for the entire time it runs to ensure something doesn’t go wrong. The owner asked us to help clean up the basement. Not a reasonable reply to a failure. The owner was at the house 5 of 7 days we were there, with one day being a maintenance day on the other 3 bedrooms in the basement I was not given access to. When I’m on vacation, I want to spend time with family and friends, not the property owner. The WiFi was nice, but not worth the other issues I had to deal with. Will not be staying here again.

Beds was horrible cheap mattress felt like u was sleeping on box springs

Everything was good house was clean nice location the only problem i had with the place is the outdated mattress it felt like u was sleeping on box springs me and my wife checked out a day early because we wasn’t getting any sleep because of the mattress my son and daughter in law regretted staying the 3rd night there because of the same issue. Also another thing there needs to be a path cleared down to the river there is no access to get down to it from property

This is an older home and its in a perfect location. Quiet and peaceful but close enough to the areas points of interest for those who love nature and all things outdoors. Do bring bottled water if you are not used to well water. Otherwise it has everything you need for a getaway in the area.

This home was very comfortable, we was traveling with a little one and the living room was his favorite place, it was so cozy. Also the large back yard was fantastic, we played there for hours chasing butterflies and looking at different flowers. There's a path down to the river where we went fishing every day. This home is a 10 minute drive to senica rock 54 minute to black water falls and other state parks. This home has 3 bedrooms with queen beds in every room. The beds are firm mattress which we all sleep amazing well on. The bed linens for every room is provided. The bedrooms have plenty of dresses and closet space. If you sleep with a fan you will need to bring your own. The master bedroom has an attached bathroom . The other 2 bedrooms share a bathroom that is off the hallway, this bathroom has a double vanity and tub shower combo. The bath towels and wash rages are provided, along with the shower gel, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and toilet paper. The kitchen has everything you need they provided trash bags, dish soap, silverware, plates, knives, coffee pot, pots, pans everything you would think a kitchen should have we found there. The one thing we did not find was a wine bottle opener. The property owner is very friendly and helpful, he has lived in the area for sometime now and can answer any questions you have on the area. The house is beautiful through out you can tell that someone built it with love. The river is beautiful
