Great Getaway!

The property was beautiful and just as advertised. The owners know how to rent a property and thought of everything! The hot tub was not working just prior to our stay and everyone involved worked extra hard to have it ready for our stay which we very much appreciated. Communication was good through the property manager, but what impressed us the most was the actual owner of the property was very invested and stayed connected throughout the prior weeks and during our stay! This is definitely a perfect choice for anyone looking for a peaceful little getaway!

The beautiful state

This was absolutely beautiful place to stay. The home was beautiful. The people were awesome. We had a couple little things, but they answered the phone. They were on top of everything. They were very knowledgeable of the area. Everything we did was exceptional and it was because of them very nice owners awesome people I can’t wait to come again. This is our second year to Maine. Food was outstanding. The places we went were outstanding. Arcadia was beautiful. We had an absolutely awesome time. Can’t wait to do it again thank you so much to the host that let us share their house with the beautiful view the Loons, the lake and their beautiful home. Thank you so much to you both the Cooper’s.

We had a very relaxing stay at the house and found this was a great spot to disconnect and just unwind. The home has a beautiful view of the water, whether it was sitting on the dock, deck, or from the master bedroom. We were able to watch a meteor shower from the dock, listen to the loons, sit by the fire, and nap in the hammock. The house was comfortable for us and our 2 young children. Unfortunately, the pond was pretty shallow, so not the best for swimming, but we had a lot of fun with the kayaks and paddle boards. We checked out a small public beach/lake in Dexter, great for little kids to swim. Otherwise, this is a pretty remote area, and perfect if you’re looking for a traditional, no frills lake-house experience.Communication was great. Easy check in and clear directions.

From the Owner: "Thanks so much for your review! We’re really glad you came to stay. This summer has been one of the hottest and driest we’ve seen in Maine, so the lake was a little lower than normal during your visit. It’s totally outside our control, but we get how that can be a bummer. Hopefully, you still got to enjoy the spot—we’d love to have you back another time when the water’s higher!"

The house was very beautiful and exactly as described in the listing. We had a beautiful view of the lake from all 3 levels and deck. The house was very well stocked. We made use of the hot tub - very nice and relaxing. The provided kayaks were great to use out on the lake. There were two big tables for our game playing. We had a nice welcome text from the host. We were not familiar with midges which are small non biting bugs that swarmed around lights that visited us on the second night swarming and got into the eaves and into the front bedroom and basement. It was annoying until we turned off all the lights and went to bed. We asked for input from the Property Mgr and he said he would communicate to the Host. We never heard back from them that day so we bought Raid and fly strips. That did the trick. I communicated the next day what we did and the Property Mgr gave me a lot of info on Midges which we wish we had the day before. The Midges didn't bother us again. Keep your outside lights off. I would recommend a curtain over the entrance door that is half glass. It would give more privacy and maybe, help keep the Midges away. Also, I would recommend a set of stairs from the dock to the water rather than jumping in. It would be easier for the adults. However, it was a great stay! A beautiful house (exactly as described) on Indian Lake. Enjoyed seeing the Amish Farm selling wonderful jams too.
