We had a great stay. The air conditioner didn’t want to go down enough during the day, but the host was very responsive. We loved the location.

Our family had an amazing time at this beautiful property. We live in Florida and have stayed at many beach properties and hotels. This place by far is the best one we have ever been to. Ocean front and just steps from the water, we felt like we were on a private island. The house was clean and had everything we needed. It was great that our elderly mothers could sit on the screened in lanai and enjoy a view of the ocean and grandkids playing in the sand. We loved it and can’t wait to go back.

Thank you so much for the incredible 5-star review! Knowing that you live in Florida and have stayed at many beach properties and hotels, it is the ultimate compliment to hear that our property is by far the best one you have ever been to. We are absolutely thrilled that the oceanfront, steps-from-the-water location gave your family that private-island feeling. It is especially wonderful to hear that the screened-in lanai provided the perfect, comfortable spot for your mothers to relax, enjoy the gorgeous ocean views, and watch the grandkids playing in the sand. Creating those multi-generational family memories is exactly what a beach getaway is all about! We are glad the house was immaculately clean and fully stocked with everything you needed. It was a true honor hosting your family, and we cannot wait to welcome you all back for another unforgettable vacation!

Exceptionally clean! Very quiet. Minor wear and tear repairs needed but nothing that affected our stay. Very attentive management service - we had a broken coffee carafe upon arrival and they replaced the whole coffee maker within hours. Highly recommend!!!

Thank you so much for the 5-star review and the high recommendation! I am thrilled to hear that the property was exceptionally clean and provided the quiet retreat you were looking for. At Dream Vacation Rentals, we strive for a "no-surprises" experience, but when those small things like a broken carafe do happen, our goal is to fix them fast. I’m glad our team was able to get that coffee maker replaced within hours so you didn't have to miss your morning brew! We also appreciate your feedback regarding the minor wear and tear. We are constantly rotating through our units to make touch-ups, and your comments help us prioritize exactly where to focus our next round of maintenance. It was a total pleasure hosting you, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the island soon!

Clean, family-friendly and spacious enough to spread out and prepare meals. A good fit for a low-frills family vacation, but maintenance and clearer disclosure are needed. The kitchen had cracked tile, a leaking freezer ice maker and a finicky dishwasher unsecured in its slot. We saw ants and a palmetto bug; some bugs are expected in ground-floor Florida accommodations.Coyotes on the beach can scatter unsecured trash. I would not let small children play immediately outside the condo unsupervised.Although inside South Seas, this rental does not include resort wristbands. We could not access resort dining through its cashless system, pool cabana reservations or the water park—especially disappointing when driving past it with kids every time we left.We learned only at check-in about May–October turtle-season restrictions: no lights visible outside after dark, and all beach chairs, tents and equipment must be carried back to the unit nightly. These requirements should be clearly stated in the listing so families can decide before booking. While packing up on our second night, my daughter and I were swarmed by biting midges at the dunes, leaving us itchy for the rest of the trip. Better pest management and advance warning would help.Overall, a clean, low-key base for family time and cooking, provided you understand the maintenance issues, beach rules and resort-access limits.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are delighted you found the condo clean, spacious, and well-suited for relaxing family time and preparing meals together. We also appreciate your constructive feedback: • Maintenance & Care: We apologize for the issues with the kitchen tile, ice maker, and dishwasher. Our 24/7 maintenance team has inspected and resolved each of these items. We have also coordinated with our pest control provider for an additional preventative treatment. • Resort Amenities: Because our property is an independently managed condo, access to South Seas Resort–exclusive packages—such as resort wristbands, water parks, and cashless resort dining—is not included. We outline these distinctions in our listing descriptions, though we understand how tempting those amenities look when traveling with children. • Island Ordinances & Nature: Sanibel and Captiva enforce strict conservation rules from May through October to protect sea turtle nesting, including packing up beach gear nightly and shielding outdoor lighting. Island wildlife and coastal insects (like midges/no-see-ums) are also natural parts of the local ecology. We are updating our pre-arrival welcome materials to highlight these seasonal regulations and island tips even earlier. Thank you again for helping us improve, and we hope to welcome your family back for an even smoother stay!

Perfect beach getaway! We loved the location - it’s on a quieter stretch of the beach which suited our family well. The amenities were exactly as stated. We rented beach chairs and an umbrella and they were waiting for us upon arrival. Super easy. We did have an issue with the refrigerator leaking but we were only there two nights and maintenance was quick to respond.

This side by side aka duplex was very nice and enjoyed the stay. During our week long stay, the other side had 3 different set of guests that were never heard thru the walls so I wouldn't fear booking this again in the future if anyone has reservations regarding this side by side. The location on the beach and beach views are excellent and having the property only being accessed through a 24 hour community gate provides comfort for our stay that wasn't originally expected but appreciated.Construction taking place on the property directly to the north wasn't too invasive or noisy and based on current progress, shouldn't be long before being completed.Ryan was very responsive to the couple of questions/clarifications asked and that's very much appreciated as well.I will definitely consider rebooking this excellent beach front residence again in the future!!!

Thank you so much for the fantastic 5-star review! We are thrilled to hear that you had such an excellent beachfront stay and that the layout of the duplex worked so well for you. It’s especially helpful for future guests to know that the soundproofing provided a quiet, private experience despite having neighbors. We’re also glad the 24-hour gated community added that extra layer of comfort and peace of mind during your trip. It was a pleasure being responsive to your questions—we always want to ensure our guests feel supported throughout their stay! We appreciate your patience with the neighboring construction and are happy to hear it didn't disrupt your time on the beach. We can’t wait to welcome you back to Dream Vacation Rentals for another memorable visit soon!

Beautiful location...right on the beach and easy to get around the island. The house needs some TLC...plantation shutters in master need to be fixed so they don't keep popping open. Seal around front door needs some help...these flying insects were getting through and had to go around killing at least two dozen. Ended up having to turn the front porch lite off and spraying Raid around the door. Ice maker did not work. The house is nice but very spartan in terms of amenities...including pillows for the couch.Suggest you stop at the local store and pick up some basics.Other than that, I would probably go back if they put some basic maintenance into the place.

Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting the beauty of our beachfront location. We are pleased you found it easy to explore the island, but we sincerely apologize that the property's condition did not meet our typical standards for a seamless stay. We take these maintenance items very seriously and have already scheduled our team to address the following: Door Seals & Pests: We are replacing the front door seals immediately to ensure a tight fit and will have our professional pest control service perform an additional treatment. Plantation Shutters: Our maintenance tech is scheduled to repair the master bedroom shutters so they remain secure. Ice Maker: We are looking into the ice maker repair or replacement to ensure it is fully functional for future guests. Amenities: We appreciate the note on "spartan" furnishings and pillows; we will review our current inventory to see where we can add extra touches of comfort. We appreciate you bringing these specific issues to our attention, as it allows us to keep the home in top shape. We would love the opportunity to host you again and provide the high-quality, "no-surprises" experience we strive for at Dream Vacation Rentals.

Can't beat the location!

We loved this house on the beach. The location was unbeatable--sunsets right out the backdoor, sunrise out the front. The house was clean and as pictured. The screened porch was our family's favorite. There were a couple of maintenance issues, and we reported them, but never heard any follow up, so I don't know if they were managed. The person who took the report was friendly and polite.

Very clean like new condition

The location is a 10 out of 10Footsteps to the beach with unobstructed sunset views over the gulf.Would highly recommend based on location and cleanliness.again. Listing as a cottage is a bit misleading. It is a duplex. You will have another family on the other side of the bedroom walls. Our family would definitely book this house.
