Riverside Nest is a true couple's Retreat. A secluded mountain cabin perched above the Ellijay River with 101 steps down from the cabin to the beach area, hammock deck. Topside on the cabin's huge deck is a covered gazebo with a gas firepit and a hot tub with a cover lift. There is a fenced area for your pup with access to both the front deck and hot tub deck. The cabin offers a large cathedral ceiling king bedroom with a 32 inch TV. The living area has vaulted ceilings and is perfect for cuddling in front of the gas log fireplace or watching your favorite movie on the 55 inch smart TV with YouTube TV's 85 channel service (Includes sports and local) & Netflix & DVD player. There is also a bluetooth speaker for listening to your favorite songs. The Kitchen offers: Refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and espresso machine, with a wall of windows overlooking the Ellijay River and beautiful wooded views while dining. Riverside Nest is a perfect place to getaway with the one you love.

This Sliding Rock Cabin is an ADULT ONLY cabin (no guests under age 25)

We encourage you to protect your vacation investment with a travel insurance of your choice.

Access: Access to this cabin is via gravel, mountain roads. 4 wheel drive is not required, confidence in mountain driving is recommended.

CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING/NO SHOW/EARLY DEPARTURE: Each cabin is privately owned and cancellations affect owners significantly. Cancellations, rescheduling, or changes must be submitted in writing and confirmed received by Sliding Rock Cabins® more than thirty-one (31) days prior to the original check-in date in order to receive refund, less a Sixty Five Dollar ($65) cancellation fee. Said changes regardless of reason made within thirty-one (31) days of your original check-in date will result in a forfeiture of all moneys paid. All moneys paid are non-transferable to another rescheduled date. Refunds will be given if Agent can re-book said dates with another guest limited to the extent of rebooking. Agents are not responsible for Guests inability to arrive or if Guests chooses to depart early for any reason, or if members of Guests party do not show up. No refunds, rebates, or compensation will be offered. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST PURCHASING VACATION RENTAL INSURANCE with your travel insurance of choice. Best getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great place for our 50th birthday getaway. The cabin is well equipped and the people at Sliding Rock Rentals were very attentive and offered suggestions for celebrating the 4th of July while we were there. The location could be tricky to get to in rain or ice/ snow without a 4 wheel drive, but that’s part of the charm. The river was wonderful for relaxing next to with our pups and the fenced in yard was a big convenience. Planning on coming back soon!

Perfect Valentine Getaway for Couples

We enjoyed everything about our stay. It was a great last minute getaway and the cabin was exceptional. The extra attention to details in every space made the stay even better. The cabin has so many cozy spaces. We especially loved the decor, the cozy blankets, fireplace, Bluetooth speakers, kitchen and chairs overlooking the river below, the bedroom space, the extra doggie treats and bed, and even the emerald green cabinet pulls. We especially enjoyed the covered bridge being lit up on our way in and out each day too. A very quiet place to retreat and enjoy nature. Highly recommended.

April 2021 Stay

Awesome cabin experience, we loved the cabin and especially the back deck with the gazebo. the cabin is fully stocked and ready, our dogs loved the fenced in yard. very comfortable, quiet and relaxing. loved being the last cabin on the road so we heard no cars only the river and the wildlife.

A Week of Peace and Tranquility

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Riverside Nest is beautiful - well appointed, great floor plan, very comfortable and so much natural light. The large windows overlooking the river and the skylights are a big plus. We enjoyed our peaceful week listening to the river, and so did our two dogs (our elderly dog appreciated the one story cabin). We saw deer, and even a bear! Thank you so much!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an amazing time at The Riverside Nest! Our little ShihTzu Lu-Lu Belle did too! Everything we needed was there in the kitchen! We felt very comfortable! We enjoyed hearing the Ellijay River and seeing the wildlife! We saw deer daily. We did the 101 stair challenge! We loved the location. The owners have decorated the cabin so beautifully and whimsically! The bed was very comfortable! The linens, towels & robes were all very soft and generous ! The cabin was just the right size! We enjoyed fresh ground coffee every morning and Lu-Lu loved her treats that were there just for her! I enjoyed the coloring book & pencils! We sat out by the fire nightly with the lights. It felt like we were in a tree house! We had an amazing time and look forward to next year! Thanks for having us!!

Home away from Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Place was wonderful in every aspect. From the drive up to the cabin and daily deer we saw. The cabin was fully prepared with utensils pans washing machine wifi not that you need to be on line much. The nights were full of beautiful sounds and tranquility. You get use to the katydids and the music that they produces ties the river for the perfect sound to sleep to. We wish we could of stayed longer.

Lovely Stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay at cozy Riverside Nest! We spent our evenings on the back porch taking in the beautiful view/sounds over the water, enjoying the fire pit, and watching the many birds in the trees surrounding the cabin. Highly recommend! The only note I’d make to future renters traveling with dogs is that the “fenced yard” is a gravel path around the back of the house. There is no fenced grass and no enclosed space for medium/large pups to run/play off leash. We totally appreciated their very welcoming dog policy and extra special touches (treats, waste bags, bowls, bed, etc) - just elaborating on the fenced yard mentioned in the listing so that others traveling with dogs can prepare accordingly. Our dogs did enjoy taking a leashed walk down the stairs to the water! Thanks for a great stay!

The magical Treehouse

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: From the moment we saw the cabin tucked high in the mountains with a view to die for,I knew we were staying at the right place. The cabin was immaculate with everything we needed to enjoy our stay with our two fur babies! I got to relax to a beautiful thunderstorm with the lightning coming through the sky lights. The hot tub was another bonus because I had a failed back surgery and it made the pain bearable,the comfortable robes after enjoying the hot tub were the icing on the cake!. We used the walking sticks to hike each day,thank you for that. We enjoyed evenings sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine. Saw deer everyday we were there!! I did make it down to the creek,walking slowly and enjoying all the nature around me. We had a wonderful week and will definitely return. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful cabin with us. The perfect getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had the best time at Riverside Nest. We will be back ! We enjoyed sitting our chairs in the river and taking walks with our dog. We saw several deer and other wildlife. The amount of amenities offered was incredible and we took advantage of the kitchen and grill the entire time we w there. The only cons about the place: Given directions were very confusing. Once we’re were there it was fine, but make sure you route your trip like we did. Make sure you have a good vehicle. The roads are dirt/rock once you turn off and can be steep. The only road we had difficulty with was the one going to the cabin. It is very steep and has ruts. On the way out we spun tires, but thankfully made it out. We will definitely be back. I only give an honest review so that the next stayers are prepared.

Beautiful cabin, very dangerous roads, not a great yard for dogs

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin itself is beautiful, well-furnished, lots of little details thought out like games, movies,and books. The amenities are nice and the kitchen is well-stocked. I wish we had been warned in advance just how dangerously steep and narrow the mountain road to the cabin is as we would have driven a different vehicle. We are coming from Florida and not used to these roads, and there was a very steep drop-off. The cabin is basically built into the side of a mountain. The stairs to the riverfront are also terrifying. We didn't feel comfortable leaving the cabin to go do anything once we got there and risk damage to our small SUV. It is a very picturesque and beautiful area and I love the picture windows and the gas fireplace. Our dogs enjoyed exploring the area but the fenced in yard is not really great. The fence posts are too wide in some areas so we couldn't even safely let them off leash without risking them running off and falling into a ravine. I also did not like being asked to do so many housekeeping items (stripping the bed, washing and putting away all the dishes, starting the laundry, etc.) when I am paying over $200 a night to stay somewhere. The checkout instructions really added to the stress of us packing and leaving. It is a beautiful area and a beautiful cabin. We should have chosen one with a better yard for letting our three dogs out off leash, but I don't think we will be going back.

Unplug and Relax

A absolute pleasure, relaxing, calm and delightful time. The cabin was as advertised. If you would like to unwind and unplug this is your place. Absolutely would stay here again. Didn’t want to come home!!! Kim, Wayne and our fur baby GiGi!!!!
