The Space:

Paperbark Cottage offers a peaceful and comfortable base for your Port Douglas getaway. This charming single-level cottage has been thoughtfully refreshed to create a relaxed tropical atmosphere with modern conveniences throughout.

The open-plan living area combines the kitchen, dining and lounge spaces, creating an easy flow for families, couples or friends to enjoy time together. The fully equipped kitchen includes modern appliances and everything needed for a comfortable stay, while the cosy lounge opens directly onto the outdoor entertaining area.

Outside, the private patio sits within the tropical garden courtyard and features a ceiling fan, comfortable outdoor seating and an electric BBQ, perfect for relaxed afternoons or casual evening meals in the warm Port Douglas climate.

The cottage includes two bedrooms, with the second bedroom featuring a king single bed and single trundle bed, along with a modern bathroom and private laundry for added convenience during longer stays. Guests can also enjoy access to the shared swimming pool within the peaceful complex.



Guest Access:

Guests have exclusive access to the entire cottage including a private entrance, carport, tropical garden courtyard and covered outdoor patio area. Guests also have private gate access to the shared swimming pool within the quiet residential complex.



The Neighborhood:

Located on quiet Mudlo Street, Paperbark Cottage is perfectly positioned to enjoy the very best of Port Douglas while still offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Just a short stroll away is vibrant Macrossan Street, home to boutique shopping, cafes, restaurants, and local bars. Four Mile Beach and the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina are also within a leisurely walking distance, making it easy to enjoy beach days, reef tours, sunset drinks, and dining without needing the car. The surrounding area offers a relaxed tropical village feel, with beautiful palm-lined streets, lush gardens and a mix of holiday accommodation and permanent residents. Even a couple of local restaurants at the end of the street.



Getting Around:

Paperbark Cottage is conveniently located close to many of Port Douglas’ main attractions. The main street of town, Macrossan Street, is an easy 10 – 15 minute walk away, as is Four Mile Beach and Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina. The Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, is where many reef and fishing tours depart. Most guests find Port Douglas very easy to explore on foot, however a car can also be convenient for visiting nearby attractions such as Mossman Gorge, the Daintree Rainforest, and surrounding beaches. There are also local buses and pushbike hire if you are wanting to venture “around town” a little bit more.



Other Things to Note:

The second bedroom contains a King single bed with an additional single trundle bed. The trundle bed is best suited to a child or younger guest rather than an adult.

Paperbark Cottage is located within a small residential complex of just eight residences. We ask guests to respect neighbours and keep noise to a minimum, particularly during the evening hours.
