Best of Both Worlds! 5th Avenue Beach and Downtown Within Walking Distance!!

Beautifully decorated Lake Michigan beach cottage!! Well appointed 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath cottage literally within walking distance to one of the most beautiful beaches in the state. Also within walking distance to lovely downtown Manistee, which boasts several bars, restaurants, a brewery, riverwalk, and even a movie theater. If you’re lucky you will get to see one of the majestic freighters float by on the river as you stroll on the riverwalk! Our home comes fully furnished with everything you would need to enjoy your stay. We have a fully stocked kitchen as well as all pillows, towels, blankets, linens etc. There is a 50 inch flatscreen TV with cable and Internet. In the private wooded backyard, you will find a beautiful fire pit area as well as an outdoor dining area. Guests also have use of our garage while visiting. This is the perfect place to stay to enjoy northern Michigan at its finest. Summer months do require 6 night minimum stay. Message us with any questions!

Great location, great house!

The cottage was exactly as described, had everything we needed. The location was perfect, close to the beach and a quick walk into downtown! Our first time in Manistee and won't be our last!

Great Location

Great location close to downtown and the beach. The house was a good size especially with the garage space for storage of all your beach gear. Fire pit was a great addition as well. Will likely look to stay here again for our next annual trip!

Very clean property, had all the amenities we needed. The use of beach chairs and sand buckets were a pleasant addition. Served as an easy home base to explore the Lakeshore. Close to many shopping areas, beaches, and restaurants.

Cute little cottage

Very cute, clean, little home, fine for a quick 2 night stay. Little space in kitchen though, but suited our needs ok.

V close to the beach and downtown. The house was v clean, AC worked v efficiently - so did the wide screen TV. I spent every morning on the patio w a cup of tea and a good book. I would definitely rent this place again.

Super clean, great location!

We were in town for a local bball tournament. We loved how close we were to the beach and the downtown area! The place was clean and well maintained, easy to find, and was just perfect for our short visit. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Little House

This house was in a great location and the hosts were friendly. I had all the accommodations that I needed. I would stay here again if I come back to the area.

This property was very nice. Honestly there’s a bunch to do so we didn’t stay in the house too much. Close to a beautiful beach and the small town feel was excellent. Deer would just come all around the property. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would stay again!!

Perfect location

It was close enough to downtown that we could easily walk there and the beach was right down the road. It was nice and quiet, there wasn't much traffic. Honestly my favorite place I've stayed at in Manistee. The host messaged us on check in day and checked in with us again half way through our stay. The house was nice and cozy which was great to come home to after a day at the beach. It really was the perfect place to stay.

Perfect for families

Was a perfect little home for our family with 2 young kids. We walked to the beach and to town each day. The bedrooms connect with a doorway which was nice to be able to have open in the night with young toddlers. The kids loved seeing deer right in the backyard.

Perfect little house in Manistee

This house that we rented from Shawn was a perfect little house in the perfect location for what we were looking for. We called him twice with little random questions and both times he answered right away. He was very pleasant to deal with, we will be coming back next year for sure!

Three Night Getaway

This property is "As Advertised". It was the perfect place to be near the beaches and town of Manistee, as well as driving distances to other places. Shawn was in contact with me from the beginning, and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. His place is in a quiet neighborhood and was immaculate. If we ever visit again, I will check his place out again to see if it's available!

Adorable and Cozy Beach Get-Away

This place was perfect and was just what we were hoping for! It was close to beaches, shopping, great walking neighborhood as well as the house being spotless, efficient, cozy & relaxing with everything we could need. This was a Summer Solistice drive we created about 7 yrs ago, by starting with the sunrise at 5:50am on the East side of the state in Tawas, driving across the state & seeing sunset in Manistee at 9:33pm! This place was a wonderful landing spot on our travels to take our time and relax while celebrating summer. Shawn was a wonderful & friendly host, the directions were simple and easy to navigate, and we felt very welcome. DidI mention this place was super comfortable and spotless? Such a very charming home and we home to come back with at least one of our adult kids and visit again. Manistee has always has a place in our hearts, our kids grew up coming here every summer. Thanks again Shawn for a fabulous visit!

Was not happy with not being able to see at night inside. One lamp in the place so I moved it around as the lighting in the bedrooms is sooo dim as I. The kitchen. Very clean if that is your number one criteria. The kitchen is not the best to function in but doable. Bathrooms very clean. It is very small So if your group is tall and substantial this ain’t the place. Sunset down the block makes a nice ending to the day.

Thanks for the great review about our SUPER CLEAN place! We feel as though our guests will definitely expect and LOVE our clean home! Sorry that you didn’t realize each light switch in the bedrooms has a dimmer switch that adjusts the brightness. Our home isn’t huge but it is cozy and clean and has an awesome location. Dirty bedding and other bed issues

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at this property. Just before going to bed at 11:30pm, we discovered the master bedding was covered in stains. The comforter had a large brown stain, the mattress cover had a large stain that looked like black mold, and the sheets had numerous splotchy stains that looked like bodily fluids. I had to go to the store at midnight to buy all new bedding so we could sleep a couple hours on clean bedding. After such a bad experience I wanted to checkout early because I was no longer comfortable with cleanliness of the property considering such obvious cleanliness and hygiene issues were overlooked. Unfortunately the property owner and VRBO didn’t allow me to check out early with a refund for the unused remaining nights of our stay. Also, the bunk bed is extremely squeaky. Even the slightest movement while sleeping on the bunk bed causes a loud squeezing that wakes up people in both rooms.

We appreciate your review Chris. As disappointing as it is, I’ll just remind future guests when considering our home to please make sure and read every other review, which happen to all be 5 stars. We have never had any type of negative review for cleanliness, in fact, almost everyone comments on how clean and well appointed our home is. We take great pride in that. My wife and I have been doing this for almost 15 years, with multiple properties, and realize that you quite literally cannot make everyone happy. We wish you and your family well.
