Located on the low bluffs of Lake Michigan in Manistee Township, Lakeview Manistee is a family home built in 1940. Situated on just shy of an acre, our home features 3 bedrooms and 2 and a half bathrooms along with a chef's kitchen, spacious living room and a large dining room complete with a wood burning fireplace.

Outside, the property features an over-sized patio with a gas grill and fire pit for moonlight story telling and roasting marshmallows for s'mores. Lakeview Manistee is ideal for a couples getaway or a family reunion and can sleep up to 10 guests. Together, the location, amenities and over 1200 feet of private neighborhood beach access are sure to allow you to relax and enjoy all that Lake Michigan has to offer. Please note, water levels vary. Manistee has many great, nearby public beach accesses as well.

At Lakeview Manistee, you may find yourself enjoying the sounds of crashing waves while sitting on the back patio or relaxing with a cold beverage after a round of golf at one of the many top ranked golf courses nearby. Whatever you find yourself doing, you will have comfort in knowing everything you need is just around the corner.

Location was perfect. The house was great. Only issue is no A/C. Also, the grill had a knob that didn't work on the second burner.

Wondeful home tastefully renovated. No AC but wasn't a problem as weather was cooperative and ventilation is excellent. Did get a little watm in the kitchen on the hot days. The kitchen is well appointed for those who like to cook. Wonderful stay

Family get away

Nice home with everything we needed. Beach access in the neighborhood wasn’t possible due to erosion. City beach is a short drive. Golf, pickleball and hiking all close. We had a great time

Nice week!

We enjoyed our week at the cottage. The owners were response and provided all the info we needed. The beach was back this year which was a big plus for us having littles with us. The huge yard was also a livesaver! I wouldn't quite say we had a view of the Lake but we did walk to the corner to watch the sunsets. Place was clean and had plentyof room for us to spread out.

Great Michigan Home Away

We were one family of a large group who gathered in Manistee to celebrate the lost lives of grandparents. This house was perfect for all of us, and accommodated nicely the infants and toddlers in the family. Also welcomed our two pets…it was perfect. We borrowed a couple of slow cookers and invited the entire family over for pulled pork sandwiches on the first night, everyone hung out outside and they played multigenerational frisbee or baseball in the giant backyard. The fire pit was a hit afterwards for s’mores. Going to the beach and taking walks, or heading off to meet up with others on our bikes was a piece of cake. Great location, great neighborhood, great accommodations!

Great family getaway home and location!

This home meant all our expectations and more! It is so cute inside and out. It is clean, well maintained and well stocked with everything a family needs for a week of fun and relaxation! This home can sleep 14 comfortably. I especially liked the room with the roof patio for reading and tanning in the mornings, it gets excellent morning sun. Lake Michigan is only a short walk away in the neighborhood with a large set of stairs to walk down to the beach. The owner was very good about getting back to me quickly with answers to our questions.They provided kayaks, a paddle board, beach chairs, beach towels, and sand toys for our use at the beach! I would recommend this house to my friends and family and hope to stay again.

Property is a comfortable and roomy vacation get away.

We enjoyed our vacation in Northern Michigan at this property. The description of the property was accurate. There were no "surprises" and the owner was helpful before, during, and after our stay. We had perfect weather during our stay and made use of the outdoor cooking and dining provisions regularly. Our grandchildren played in the large backyard when they were not enjoying Lake Michigan. We used the fire pit on two evenings which capped off busy days touring the area's attractions. (Hint: Don't miss visiting the Manistee public beach for one of the best swimming and sun bathing experiences anywhere). While it was warm for Northern Michigan, this home was comfortable and a great place to relax. We found the owners had anticipated all our needs. We watched the Olympic games in the evening on the cable TV channels which also included Detroit Tigers baseball games. There is a good selection of restaurants only minutes away. We bought groceries from the Meijer super store that was also very close. Truly there is not much you'll miss when you are vacationing at this location.

Family vacation

Very comfortable house with space to relax and be with family. The kitchen was supplied with all utensils for fixing meals which we did. There was a huge and comfy room which we used especially in the evening to gather together. All the bedrooms were on the second floor. We had no difficuty with the steps. There was a gate at the bottom of the steps to keep little ones out of harms way if need. We enjoyed the beautiful and mild weather and used the many installed and provided fans to easily moderate the temperature in the house to comfortable levels especially on the second floor. The beach was easily within walking distance. It was a steep climb down to the beach, but sturdy stairs were provided. We spent lots of time at the beach and could have used some chairs. We did not even try the provided kayak and board. The thought of going down the steps with them did not seem easy. Others might find it easier. A huge grocery was within a 5 minutes drive. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

Great Property, Except Hot

This was our second time visiting the Manistee area, first time at this property. The property manager gave me a call a few evenings before our check-in, which was nice, but that was the last time I heard from him. We had a couple of questions that I wanted to discuss after arrival, but he never responded to my text. The property was very nice and well-equipped for kids, adults, and dogs, but the biggest thing we ran into was that the house is **not air conditioned**, and we showed up on one of the hottest days of the summer. They had box fans (five in fact), and a couple of portable air conditioners, but no hoses available to hook them up. Being an engineer, I made do with what we had in light of no response from the owner/manager. The property is not listed as being air conditioned, but it's also not highlighted, either. Shame on us for not verifying, but I also feel the VRBO listing should be better at highlighting this key "luxury". The only smaller problems we had is that the property could have been cleaner (especially the showers), and the owner needs to put their Rokus into guest mode. I don't want to use their streaming accounts, and I don't especially want to know their watching habits (lots of political channels), but they were locked from being able to be put into guest mode or add our own streaming channels. Overall, it's a really cute and well maintained property, especially for its age, and Manistee and its beaches were great to visit.

Family reunion

Well stocked kitchen. Roomy and clean accommodations. Used patio and fire pit to watch moon, stars and sunset. Recommend Princess boat tour on Lake Michigan. Walked to Manistee on the beach and back. Prepare to get your feet wet.

Christmas in Manistee

The rental is a spacious and very clean home just north of Manistee. We were very surprised to see a beautiful Christmas tree in the living room and other decorations. This made being away from home during Christmas very special. Lake Michigan can be viewed from the home so we enjoyed a gorgeous sunset the first night.

Great rental

Home is spacious, interior is updated. Large deck and yard. The owner, Dale, is gracious and responsive. The home is convenient to everything. Beaches are nearby, we frequented North Beach with our dog. Close to downtown and river walk area. I highly recommend.

Trip to Manistee, Mi

Overall a very relaxing location. Several beaches in the area. Nice downtown and restaurants. Location is not too far from Sleeping Bear Dunes. Most important to us is having a home that would allow us to bring our golden retreiver which is 75 lbs. The home is situated on approx. One acre and I could walk my dog on the property or around the block.

Relaxing Stay

Beautiful property great for a large family gathering. Lots of beautiful scenery and a quick drive to the beach meant a very relaxing stay for all. Close to the beach, golf, and boat launches. The house had everything you could possibly need for your stay. We had a fantastic time!

Great place to stay!

This is a great place for family and friends to gather. Plenty of space for everyone. Great walking location. Minutes from a good beach area that is not widely used. Definitely would recommend!

Family Vacation

We had a great time on our trip! The house was roomy, clean, and had just about everything we needed! We loved how close everything was. We could get to the grocery store, beaches, casino, restaurants and downtown all within a 10 minute drive. You can’t utilize the private lake access from the neighborhood due to erosion, but there are three beaches within a 5 minute drive. The people in the neighborhood and town were very helpful and nice. We would definitely come back one day!

Girl's getaway

The house was perfect! We were unable to access lake Michigan from the neighborhood due to the erosion of the bluff but it was a quick drive to the beach. The next door neighbor was lovely and the people behind us invited us for a bonfire. One woman walked by the house and told us we need to quarantine and we shouldn't be bringing our germs to Manistee but she was the only blip in an otherwise perfect weekend.

Plenty of room to relax

Nice quiet setting with lake views. The property is close to town, restaurants and beaches. Hiking trails are within walking distance too. We enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to anyone.

Perfect place to recharge!

We enjoyed the home and all the areas for us to hang out! Kitchen was great for cooking and being together and chatting, beds were comfortable and appreciated the updated bathrooms. Location was perfect as we could stay at the house and enjoy water views and centrally located to take day trips to Sleeping Bear, and local beaches. Recommend Magoon Beach as has easy access and beach still has a lot of space with the erosion. Dale was great communicator and appreciated the call before we checked in to go over the details. We will be back!
