Views! Views! Views! Casa Vista del Mar is a beautiful, luxury, three bedroom condo located in Playa Langosta, a one mile beach walk from the center of Tamarindo. From its 6th floor, sub-penthouse location, Vista del Mar has 250 degree views of the Pacifi c, from the Las Baulas National Park in the north, including the black rock of Playa Grande, to the protected Zona Verde, (Green Zone) to the west and south. The beach is a short 3 minute walk down a jungle path in the national park. The never-ending march of waves visible through the wall of west windows is mesmerizing. The sound of them will lull you to sleep. Often, you can see and hear the flock of green parrots which live in the trees below. And then there is the roar of the Howler monkeys to delight you! The surf conditions can be checked from nearly every window. The local’s favorite break, Langosta rivermouth, can be seen from the condo and is a short walk to the south. The center of Tamarindo is a short, pleasurable, beach walk to the north.

In addition to panoramic ocean views, this condo has three bedrooms. It will sleep 8 adults comfortably. The master bedroom is ensuite and has a private jacuzzi tub. The master and the second bedroom have king size beds in each, which can be separated into four twin extra longs. The third bedroom has two bunk beds, also twin extra longs, which sleep four adults. So the unit can sleep 2 couples and 4 singles or 8 singles or a combination totaling 8 people.

The condo and the building have many sustainable components which are not found in most condos in the area. Most of the furniture is custom designed and was made by local artisans. All is locally sourced. The wooden components were constructed from sustainable woods supporting indigenous craftsmen in Nicaragua. The teak pieces were made from teak harvested locally and then fabricated locally. The stone pieces were custom designed for the space and made locally, supporting Costa Rican cottage industries. The waste system is a biological sanitizing system in which the treated water is recycled and then used for irrigation.

In the building common areas you can enjoy the jacuzzi and a pool with a waterfall and a beach-style entrance for little ones or in-pool lounging. There is a large gas grill for preparing poolside meals. Two covered parking spaces are included in the underground parking garage. The building has 24 hour security and is one of the most secure buildings in town. This unit itself is extraordinarily quiet and secure with complete privacy from any neighbors. It is wheelchair accessible, please discuss your needs with management.

All rooms have individually controlled AC units. The kitchen is fully equipped and has basic supplies including locally grown and roasted Costa Rican coffee. The bathrooms have organic locally-made starter toiletries. There is a 42” TV and a sound system, bring your stick. Cable TV and WiFi are included. The unit contains a washer and dryer. Beach towels are provided. The building has a backup generator which engages automatically should the power go out. A small grocery is a block away and restaurants are next door

Fabulous location and amazing views!

Property management was great! It felt very safe, incredibly clean and walking distance to everything! The AC worked very well, but the water pressure is horrible and takes forever to get warm. So dishwasher and laundry machine did not clean well. Also, this building it wall to wall tile, with no rugs or mats anywhere!. So very slippery when wet, especially bathrooms and showers that don’t drain well. Plus then you have sand everywhere, because there is nothing to trap it. We had to ask for a hairdryer and blender, even though listed, because owner did not want them in unit….not sure why. I would stay there again, because overall it was very nice and clean!

Love the place!

Have now stayed here 2 years in a row. The condo and building is clean and well maintained. In a lovely area of tamarindo. Check in process was simple and management very responsive

My name is Bill Ripley. Along with my wife Nancy, own Horizon Pacific Management and Rentals as well as a house in Tamarindo. We’ve owned our house since 2006 and bought this company in February, 2008.
I was born and raised in a little town outside of Atlantic City, New Jersey known as Mays Landing. I graduated High School in 1972 and for the next few years, worked, traveled and went to 3 different colleges but never received a degree. I fell in love with the woman of my dreams who has been my friend since early Elementary school. We married in 1978 and are still best friends today…at least that’s what she still tells me!
Nancy was born and raised in the same town. She also graduated High School in 1972 and then went to Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia where she received her degree in Elementary Education. Through our early years of marriage, she was an elementary teacher in Mays Landing and as well as Mt. Pleasant, SC after we moved.
We’ve raised 2 children. Our daughter, Corinne is married to Bradd Johnson and they have 3 children: Dylan, Anabelle and Samy. Our son, Chris graduated, finishing his degree in Visual Communications at Hawaii Pacific University.
After marrying and having our children in Mays Landing, we moved to Isle of Palms, South Carolina in 1990 because we wanted to live in a coastal community with a better quality of life to raise them. I started working for Island Realty which is a Resort Rental and Real Estate Company on Isle of Palms that has grown to manage over 500 short and long term properties as well as a number of Home Owner Associations. I worked of this same company since 1991 and Nancy has worked for them since 1995. I am a Real Estate Sales broker with over 18 years experience in residential, resort, commercial sales and management. Nancy did the bookkeeping for Island Realty for 14 plus years. Also, she was the bookkeeper for 7 years for a company that we owned before moving to the Isle of Palms.

We totally enjoy our time in Costa Rica, we feel blessed for this opportunity and hope that we will be a blessing to many of the people we come in contact with while living this adventure.

We have a great staff at Horizon Pacific and even though we are commuting back and forth from Isle of Palms to Tamarindo, with the internet and phone communication, I am very active in the day to day operations of Horizon Pacific and the management of the properties when not in Tamarindo.
