Enjoy Casa Lirica, our family home located in gated Palm Beach Estates next to Playa Grande. Our home is built for family gatherings or groups of friends w/ both private indoor & outdoor spaces. Each of the four bedrooms is ensuite. Experience stunning sunsets while sifting the golden sands of Playa Grande between your toes. . .

We enjoy world travel and know the importance of creature comforts when not at home. We share this sensibility with our guests by offering a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your meals, sharp knives (or at least with a sharpener to hone to your liking), comfortable chairs, sofa, and lounges in the living spaces and poolside, bath amenities, privacy while still being walking distance to restaurants, bars, and live music. Our complimentary concierge service can be as present or as invisible as you would like.

The hacienda designed home offers a serene and refined stay. The design of the home is made to keep the coolness of the night (or A/C) in and the heat of the day out. The rooms all open to the backyard, terrace, and pool area. Through the back gate, a short walk, through a “green zone” (i.e., protected space) with abundant wildlife, leads to 3+ miles of golden sand beach and across the estuary, the town of Tamarindo.

Located within Las Baulas Marine National Park, the nesting site for leatherback turtles, Playa Grande offers many opportunities for exploration. These include world-class surfing, boogie boarding, walking, biking, or just sun soaking. Laze in the backyard hammocks, a respite from the day's explorations or the afternoon heat, or cool off in the private pool. A covered terrace with ceiling fans offers sun protection for reading, visiting, playing games, and dining. All bedrooms and indoor common areas have A/C.

We offer board games for our guests. We have books for you to enjoy during your stay or leave a book - take a book.

Concierge service is provided with the house. If you are arriving on a late flight, our concierge can arrange for an airport shuttle for your arrival. A rental car can be delivered to the house the morning after your arrival. We don't recommend driving the roads at night.

Our house manager will meet you and provide an orientation to the house. This service can arrange for car rental, sunset boat rides or fishing trips, surf lessons/rentals, zip line excursions, bike rental, white water rafting, bird watching & jungle tours, dinners, chocolate tasting, shopping, or many other holiday adventures. There are local yoga classes as well as the ability to hire a private instructor.

For stays longer than seven days, the house is cleaned mid-week. The landscaper attends the grounds and pool every day.

We have recently added a water softener system to our plumbing. This improves the taste of the water and is gentler on the dishes and your skin and hair.

We have also converted our pool to a saltwater filtration system. This is less harsh on your eyes, skin, and swim wear. Our backyard lawn allows for hours of play!

Palm Beach Estates is a walkable community just on the north side of the estuary. There is a small convenience store, multiple restaurants/bars, and live music all within walking distance. There are bikes, boogie and surf boards for rent locally. Alternatively, you can walk to the end of the beach and flag one of the boat taxis and for $2 each, take a short ride to Tamarindo for shopping, food or a horseback ride on the beach. Within a 10-minute drive, there are grocery stores, produce stands, restaurants, outdoor concert opportunities.

We offer the option to use the croquet set, the Bocce set, ping pong, as well as board games and a loaner library.
