Really nice property in a good location. Was wonderful visiting this area again after so many years, and sharing it with others who had never been. This Lodge was a great gathering place for friends to explore this lovely area and spend a rainy afternoon playing board games. 3

Great spot for a family. Lots in the house to keep children entertained. Very close to being to downtown Saugatuck, without the hustle and bustle. Would stay again!

Stayed here for a wedding in Saugatuck - enjoyed the spacious layout of the house and the open-concept living area and kitchen. Basement was huge and was able to use for wedding decoration arrangement and storage. So close to downtown Douglas and Saugatuck for all events. Great stay!

This VRBO was very clean, beautifully decorated and a comfortable place to stay. It was located in a safe neighborhood as well. We enjoyed staying there!

We arrived to a dirty home it had not been cleaned from previous guest. All the sheets and towy were dirty after contacting the boast it took over 1 hour for cleanup crew to arrive. They cleaned but left items in the washer and dryer. Host has not responded to my request for some kind of compensation .

Stayed for a ladies’ weekend during Tulip Time. The house is very spacious, clean, and very comfortably slept 6 adults. Super easy access to Saugatuck and Holland attractions. Highly recommend and would come again!

Overall it was a nice property, very clean with lots of fun things for kids. Our trip was for a girls weekend and it was a good central location for the places we visited. It was nice to have 3 bathrooms. There was only one hairdryer though. There were some issues with communication with the owner. Two hours before check in we still had not received the email with check in info. I messaged the owner and they did respond quickly and sent the instructions. Once we arrived at the home, we found a note (we assume from a previous renter?) stating the Keurig didn’t work. We texted the owner asking if they could supply a working one and we were told they weren’t sure when they could get to it and suggested we buy some instant coffee or go into town. It was never replaced. Had we known ahead of time, we would have gladly brought our own coffee maker. Other than those few things, it was a nice place to stay.

This house is in a great location and was clean and spacious. It was great having three bathrooms. The check in process wasn't smooth and I now see from the reviews that others had the same issue. It was after 4:00 and I hadn't received a code. We went downtown for a bit since we couldn't get in and weren't getting a response. I then saw there was a number you could call. Once I called the number, the host sent a welcome message with the code and then we could get in. We then noticed that there was not a coffee maker of any sort in the kitchen. We had brought K-cups because the listing said there was a keurig. I messaged the host and did get a response. I was told that previous guests broke the keurig and that there was a coffee shop down the street or they offered to purchase us instant coffee from the grocery store. I don't like to write a negative review, but the communication was not friendly. Very unlike my other VRBO experiences in that respect.

We used this house for a weekend bachelor party. I loved the location of this house. The beds were reasonably comfortable. There was a handful of spiderwebs but it might have just been the season

Beautiful, comfortable home. We were three women traveling to Michigan for a girlfriend’s vacation. We were there two nights. It was so convenient to have three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The home was very clean and spacious. Loved the front porch for coffee in the morning. We appreciated the Kerrigan coffeemaker and that the host supplied several pods and creamer. We drove there so we had a car which is necessary. The Douglas restaurants and shopping are only a mile or so away but we didn’t find it walkable. Sagatauk was a three minute drive from the house. Lovely town but be prepared to hunt for parking. I would recommend this home!

A few safety concerns if you are travelling with kids: the front door does not latch or lock securely always, it can be pushed open easily; the only access to the back yard is out the front door and around to a gate, the door on the main bathroom upstairs doesn't shut fully. Aside from that the beds are rock hard and there were plenty of spiders inside. The back yard is sadly unusable due to the huge amount of ants and ant hills as well as overgrown weeds. The fire pit chairs had weeds growing up through them and were covered in dirt. The beach within walking distance is actually just a boat launch though there are a ton of nice beaches nearby.

We're sorry to hear the home didn't meet your expectations. Safety is very important to us, and we have inspected the front door and found it to be functioning properly. Mattress comfort is subjective, and while many guests find them comfortable, we understand preferences vary. As our home is in a wooded area, it's not uncommon to occasionally see spiders or ants despite regular pest control. We also appreciate you bringing the yard maintenance concerns to our attention, and we'll address them with our landscaping team. For future guests, the nearby public beach access is a short drive away, while the closest waterfront within walking distance is a boat launch, as described in the listing.

Location was terrific and convenient to everything we had planned to do. House was a good size for two couples and would have accommodated travelers with children too. The internet connection was poor as the information sheet had a different information that the wi-fi name but we had my-fi so no problem. The only negative that we experienced was the mattresses on all of the beds should be replaced. Very uncomfortable. Since our stay was short in duration was not a big problem. The yard could have stood a good mowing and some trimming. All in all the positives outweighed any small inconvenience. Price was great and left us with plenty of memories

Just to clarify, the current Wi-Fi name and password are included in our welcome message sent before check-in. We also understand that mattress comfort is very personal. The mattresses are the ones we choose for our own home and are comfortable for us, though we realize everyone's preferences are different. We appreciate your feedback about the yard and will continue to keep up with seasonal maintenance. The house was in a great location and very clean. Lots of room and was as expected. Our biggest disappointment was the check in and internet. We did not receive the full check in information (specifically the key access code) until 30mins after check in. We had send messages earlier in the day letting the host know our arrival time would be prompt and had to call 3 times before letting them know we were not able to get into the house due to lack of information provided. Once we were in the house, the internet did not work although it said it was connected and we restarted it manually a couple of times during our 2 night stay. Unexpected issues that were frustrating but over all the house was exactly what we needed for our stay in the area.

Wonderful Place

We very much enjoyed our stay at this home. It was very clean and had everything we could've needed. The host was helpful, provided great tips for the area and responded right away for any of our questions. The location is perfect, it was 10-15 mins from everything! Highly Recommend this property.

Great place!

Loved our stay. The place was so big that we never used the basement and forgot there was a whole other half of the house to use. The fire pit in the backyard was probably our favorite spot, plenty of chairs around a really nice fire pit. Also appreciated how easy it was to get around town from the property

Great weekend getaway with young children

This was the perfect location for 2 couples and young kids. The weather was rainy and the basement play room kept the children entertained all morning. Enough space to spread out, and plenty of bathrooms. Listing pictures are accurate and the home was clean and we really appreciated the labels in the kitchen it made it really easy to find everything.

Very close to both Douglas and Saugatuck- we had a wonderful time with friends and family. The house worked perfectly for our group. The added touches did not go unnoticed. 😊

Perfect for our girl’s weekend!

The house was great! A short drive to town. Very clean and comfy, SO many amenities. Just an FYI - the listing says coffee pot, but they have a Keurig...just in case you pack coffe and not K-cups. They did have some for us to use, but we stopped to buy more. I would stay here again! The nice gift basket with snacks and the bottle of wine were so sweet! Thank you for hosting 4 moms in need of a weekend getaway! It was perfect!!!

Buyer beware! When I initially booked this property the listing had a photo showing stairs leading to a beach. I took this as the property having beach access. Back in May 2026, my son asked me to confirm beach access with the host. I then sent a message to the host referencing the above mentioned photo and asking if the property had beach access. The host responded "yes, we are on the beach.". The property is a 15 min drive from the beach and the above mentioned photo was conveniently removed from the listing. Property does not look the same as listing. Upon pulling in I observed severe overgrowth of weeds and shrubs covering half of the porch. The overgrowth had extended into the porch. Weeds were growing up through the chairs at the fire pit. It appeared little to no maintenance has been done to the exterior of the property. I had to contact the host to receive check in instructions. Within an hour of being at the house we noticed the basement TV was inoperable. I immediately contacted the host. The host failed to respond within 12 hrs. I had to contact the host a 2nd time regarding the TV. They advised they weren't going to fix it and told me to "get outdoors and play pickleball.". The toilet broke with 2 days left. I messaged the host regarding the problem. They never acknowledged me nor fixed it. At this time they have advised VRBO they will not provide any compensation for any of these issues. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

We're sorry this guest was disappointed, but this review doesn't reflect the full experience. This guest messaged us nearly every day with complaints, and we responded as best we could throughout their stay. We take pride in sharing our home and work hard to provide a great experience for our guests. Like any home, occasional maintenance issues can happen, but we made every reasonable effort to assist. Fortunately, our other reviews better reflect the experience most guests have at our property.

Amazing house

Overall the house was amazing but when we first got there a few issues with getting in. Once we got in we noticed rat poop around the corner tops , in the trash can & throughout the home. When we opened the refrigerator we noticed it hasn’t been cleaned.. has hair and looks like milk stains. Moving towards the master bedroom in the bathroom there were used towels on the sink and on the back of the door. The home was great other than the cleaning part. Me & my family had an amazing time & made the best out of despit the cleanliness.

Cozy Stay in Douglas

Overall, it was a very nice location for the stay. It was very quiet with a semi-secluded feel. According to the guestbook, we were the first to stay for the year. I think this impacted the cleanliness of the house. There were a lot of cobwebs throughout the home, the shower had hair in it, the floor was sandy and dusty, the couch had white stains, and I found a fake eyelash folded into a "clean" towel. This was somewhat frustrating because we paid hundreds of dollars for a cleaning fee at booking. I still give this a higher rating than not because I frequently stay at rental properties for vacations and work travel and this was far better than many I've seen! The house is located within walking distance of shops, a park, coffee, and an adorable little beach. If you really like to walk, you can even make it to Saugatuck! With this being said, you do have to walk on the road for a bit until you reach sidewalk and the road area doesn't really have a shoulder or space to walk comfortably. The road to the shops/art area winds which makes it hard to see oncoming traffic. I mention this because the listing boasts that it is within walking distance of the beach and the pictures seemingly show that it's right next to the beach and this is not the case. The town seemed very safe and people were very friendly, so once you get onto the sidewalks area, you are good to go for a great time!
