Family Gatherings and Retreats are our specialty! We sleep 18, 4 br, 3 baths, + bunk room, 7 queens, 4 twins, kid loft for 2, yoga room, chapel, Grotto, fire pit/patio , Air Conditioning, covered wraparound porch, leather furniture, dining tables for 18+. We built "Uncle Don's Cabin" as a family gathering retreat that we could gather family and friends to pray, hunt, play cards, hike, kayak, fly fish, ride atv's, snowmobiles, snow shoe...lots of parking and only 10 miles South of Traverse City City Limits.

Such a beautiful place! Very clean and close to Traverse City!We loved the property for our family getaway. Hiking and fishing not far down the road. Our favorite time was sitting around the fire pit and playing games.

It will be difficult to stay somewhere other than Uncle Don’s Cabin, as we were quite spoiled by this experience. Beautiful, spacious, welcoming cabin; quiet setting - close to town but very much felt “away from it all”. The game room was a bonus for the kids - big and small kids alike! Communication with our host was outstanding and they went above and beyond to respond quickly, helping us with activities, directions and any question we asked. Highly recommended and if we were to return to the area, it would be our first - and only - choice where to stay!

Great for a large group with plenty of seating and sleeping space. The place was clean with many of the necessary amenities provided such as dishes, towels, TP, soap, detergent and dish washing liquid. The house was located 20 mins from downtown TC and about an hour to Sleeping Bear Dunes.

We had a great time in a beautiful house and property. Only issue was not easy to get to on dirt roads.

Mark- I am so glad you had a great time. I am so sorry about our road from our terrible flooding storm in Traverse City. They are currently fixing the sink hole by the bridge on our road. It is supposed to be open very soon. It is usually a nice short drive off Garfield road on Scharmen Road. Hope you are able to enjoy it again someday. Katie

We were very pleased! This was a terrific place for our family to stay to experience time together. Everything was as described. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, glassware, mugs, silverware and cooking gear for 18 people. We utilized the fire circle, outdoor eating areas, and game room in the garage. We enjoyed the outdoor swings while sitting listening to the variety of birds. We would definitely stay here again and encourage others to also.

We had an incredible stay at this cabin in Traverse City. The property was exactly what we were looking for—spacious, comfortable, and surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the woods.The cabin easily accommodated our group, with plenty of room to relax, and enjoy our time together. Everything was clean and well-maintained.The host, Katie, was exceptional—responsive, helpful, and made the entire experience seamless. She even stopped by to welcome us and give some history on the cabin. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with plenty of space for a large group, this is the perfect spot. We made some great memories here and are already talking about coming back for another adventure. Highly recommended!

Great spot for a family vacation. We werent expecting the game room (which the property owner is still working on completing, so it wasnt on the listing) but it was an awesome addition. Would definitley recommend and hope to return some day.

4th of July Stay

Super cute cabin! We had a party of 14 and there was enough room for everyone. Everything was as pictured. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Family Vacation

Our stay was wonderful. The property was beautiful, the house fit all 16 of us (8 adults & 8 children under the age of 10). The near by fishing and nature walks were exceptional. We had a lovely time.

So cozy and beautiful!

We stayed at this place with a group of our friends over the weekend and absolutely loved it! The place was so clean, cozy, and beautiful. The property was incredible and we really enjoyed the privacy, trails in the backyard, and the fire pit. We definitely want to come back to this place!

Wine trip retreat and relaxation

We had a group of 11 women and enjoyed this property very much. The property is very clean and enough space for all of us. The property manager was extremely responsive.

Awesome!

We go up to northern Michigan every year to go ride the motorcycle trails. Uncle Don's cabin is definitely one of the nicest places we've stayed at. Tons of room, everything you need and right down the road from the trailhead. We would definitely recommend!
