Sunny Sierra Cabin Nestled in the Pines

We welcome you to our charming and sunny Sierra cabin nestled in the pines. The cabin is located in a peaceful setting in the heart of Tahoe Donner and backs to Tahoe National Forest. It is only minutes away from downtown Truckee, ski resorts, lakes, casinos, restaurants and shopping.

Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath home sleeps up to 7-8 comfortably and is child proof, completely furnished and has a 2-car garage. It is ready for a weekend or week long retreat in the mountains. The cabin has an airlock entry and includes beautiful hardwood floors and ceilings, open kitchen and living room plan, breakfast bar, rock fireplace, and south-facing deck.

The master bedroom is located upstairs with a queen bed, walk-in closet and dresser. The downstairs bedrooms include a twin bunk and dresser, with a TV/DVD. Great for the kids. The other bedroom has a full/twin bunk, dresser and an adjoining bathroom. All bedrooms have beautiful forest views. Cabin Amenities: Includes fully furnished kitchen with dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, refrigerator w/ ice maker, toaster, coffee maker, blender, cooking utensils, dishes, etc. Cable TV, Wireless and High Speed Internet, DVD Player (upstairs and downstairs), central vacuum, central heat, firewood.

We had an amazing time, we ran into a few hiccups but they were handled in a very timely manner. Lots of snow play area in the back which was perfect for the kids. We will definitely look into staying again in the future.

Wonderful cabin in the woods

We had the best time in this very cozy and well-equipped cabin. The beds were super cozy, we enjoyed afternoons by the fire, and we had great access to the slopes for skiing. Weā€™ll definitely be back!

Great Ski Week Stay

We had a great time. Just the right size space for the family, parents, 2 elementary school kids and our teenage nephew. We had everything we needed in the house, well stocked kitchen, plenty of pillows and blankets. Great yard for the kids to run around in the snow. Canā€™t wait to stay here again.

Perfect for our family

We just spent the weekend here, two adult adults and seven, six, and five-year-old, and had an absolutely great time.We were looking for a place where we could just play in the snow around the property, without having to do the work of taking those kids to a resort. Thereā€™s a ton of open forest space behind the home, and the kids just spent all day back there exploring and playing.The unit itself was clean, well appointed and had everything we needed. Absolutely plan to stay here again one day.

Comfy House in Tahoe Donner

This house is perfectly located if you want to explore North Tahoe. It is minutes from the ski area, cross country and summer activity center. Maria is a wonderful responsive host and went out of her way to resolve our one problem during our stay. This house is not a sleek modern minimalist place. It is a warm, comfortable house with absolutely everything you may need. The kitchen is better equipped than mine at home and her laundry and supply room is well stocked with labels and information. There is a roomy garage and even snowshoes available. The big downhill ski areas are probably 25 minutes drive and all the stores and restaurants of Truckee about 10 minutes. We would (and will) stay here again in a heartbeat.

Summer work trip

I own Tanners Marketplace antique shows in Reno. I promote antique and craft shows. We put on an antique show at the Truckee High school and needed a place for us and our helpers to stay. The house worked out very well. It was close and with the nice kitchen we could cook our meals and not have to eat out all the time. The house was furnished comfortably and was just perfect for us. Nice, cozy cabin in North Lake Tahoe

We enjoyed our stay in this short-term rental very much. Beautiful quiet scenery, loved the cabin decoration and home feel to it, as well as that we already had in place some items to protect our toddler from running down the stairs. Very family friendly and contained all essential amenities. We scored 4/5 mostly because of 2 things: we found several spiderwebs in the windows inside the house and there was some miscommunication related to the checkout. We tried our best to leave everything clean and requested but failed to see the latest msg on chat since we were expecting an email similarly to the initial communication thread. These were minor points , but everything was nice and clean. One last thing to mention is that we did not find the clicker to open the garage near the key holders -but we did find a covid rapid test and hand sanitizer which we thought was a good small gesture that we appreciated it. Overall we highly recommend this stay and we would likely book it again in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Clean and Cozy

We had a great stay at the cabin and were so impressed by how clean it was and how easy it was to check in and find. It is only about 20 min away from Tahoe Donner Ski Ranch where our kids tried skiing for the first time. The cabin checked all the boxes and even allowed us to bring along our pandemic puppy--we couldn't have been happier!

Great Tahoe Donner Getaway

An amazing week in Tahoe Donner. The house was clean, organized, and VERY well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/utensils. We were still working/learning remotely and the internet held up for all of us working concurrently. The backyard was a great extended snow-play area. We enjoyed the house's convenient location to the Tahoe Donner ski area and the guest card discounts (what a great additional perk). The owners were easy to work with and very responsive. A couple of notes that didn't have an impact on our overall stay: The downstairs bedrooms were a little cold, but our kids seemed fine with the heavy comforters. We also used the linens in the house, so the checkout process felt unmanageable for the amount of laundry we needed to do with the sheets/towels per instructions (but we managed). BOTTOM LINE: A wonderful week in Tahoe and a great house/host.

Great dog friendly cabin

This property is very clean and well stocked. We really enjoyed the warm fires in the fireplace and walks with our very happy Labradoodle on the trails right out the back door. Maria was very easy to work with and quick to respond. We would stay again.

Tai and I live in the beautiful coastal town of Santa Cruz with our 2 daughters and gentle giant of a dog, Kona. Before our move here, Tai lived in the Sierra Foothills and I lived in San Francisco. Our paths crossed in the Sierra moutains where we married in 2000 in a ceremony at a small cross country ski resort he had been managing, called Eagle Mountain. Although we live in a lovely beach community, a big part of our hearts is connected to the mountains of the Sierra. We were fortunate to buy a cabin in Tahoe Donner and have enjoyed many years of family vacations in both summers and winters up here. It has been a blessing raising our two daughters and sharing the beauty of both the coast and the mountains with them. We enjoy renting out our cabin so that we may give others the opportunity to savor the beauty and tranquility of our home away from home and the lovely natural surroundings of Truckee.

Por que o anfitriĆ£o escolheu essa propriedade

Not only were we married here, but Tai managed a cross country ski resort and white water rafting company in this area. We lived in the Sierra Foothills for awhile, but spent lots of time in the Truckee/Tahoe region. It was only natural for us to want to buy a place in this area as it has a lot of lovely memories and of course, we continue making many new ones. We knew that Tahoe Donner was the place we really wanted to be and grow. It has been amazing watching all the wonderful changes and improvements take place with this community.

O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?

This home was perfect! It was not too big and not too small. We had only a one year old at the time, but knew our family would grow and that this cabin would have all that we needed. We also love the space around us. We have an empty lot on one side and a small A-Frame home on the other. The south facing deck brings warmth and bright light into the upstairs where there is plenty of space for everyone to gather for happy hour on the deck, a board game around a crackling fire, or just some quiet reading time as a Sierra blizzard blows through or the warm summer breeze whistles softly through the pines. This little cabin has it all and you will feel refreshed and relaxed after a weekend or a week retreat any time of year.
