House in need of repairs/updating

My family and I stayed for one night at this rental and although we really enjoyed the pool and outdoor space, we were disappointed with this rental in general. To start with the positives, the beds were comfortable and bathrooms were fine. The location of the house was good. There were some real issues with cleanliness in the home. It was absolutely grimy and many areas are in need of updating and repair. The appliances were very outdated. The refrigerator was very noisy and the ice dispenser did not work. The microwave was literally held up by duct tape as were some of the cabinets! The Cabinets were in such bad shape with missing pulls and also duct taped together! The couch in the TV area had pen marks and there were missing lightbulbs randomly throughout the rental. Another issue was that there was no washer and dryer although it was noted in the house description ad. When we texted the owner she simply texted back with “I don’t furnish that.” We mentioned that it was in the ad description and we were simply brushed off with a 'sorry'. We would have been really upset if we were guests for more than one day but even one day with a pool, was a huge inconvenience. Lastly, although check out was at 11:00 am at exactly 10:30 am the housekeeper appeared and proceeded to stand outside the door (clear doors straight through the house) watching and waiting for us to leave. The cleaning lady should have arrived at 11:15 – 11:30, 10:30 am is a bit too early when check out is at 11:00 am and the fact that she stood there and watched us the whole time was very rude. Overall – I wouldn’t rent this home again and don’t recommend it to anyone either. Sorry.

SORRY TO HEAR YOU WERE SO DISAPOINTED, BUT I SEE YOU HAVEN'T MENTIONED THE WAY YOU LEFT THE HOUSE, A REAL MESS, IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE ALL YOU MENTIONED IN YOUR REVIEW AFTER ALL MY REVIEWS ARE THE BEST, SPECIALLY WITH THE CLEANING ISSUES, YOU GOT MAD BECAUSE YOU ASKED FOR THE WASHER AND DRYER AND MY RESPONSE WAS IF YOU GO TO THE PAGE YOU WILL SEE I DON'T PROVIDE IT, THE CLEANING LADY DIDN'T SHOW UP AT 10.30 A.M SHE SHOW UP AT 11.05,A.M DUE THAT I HAD OTHER GUESTS CHECK IN AT 2PM AND AFTER ALL THE MESS YOU LEFT SHE NEED TIME TO HAVE IT READY ON TIME. SORRY, YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE COMING BACK TO THE PROPERTY BUT IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE AFTER READING THE REST OF THE REVIEWS. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEXT RENTAL YOU HAD GOOD LUCK WITH ME BECAUSE I DON'T REQUEST DEPOSIT AND I'M NOT AS OTHER OWNERS I TRY THAT EVERYONE FEEL COMFORTABLE IN A HOSPITABLE ATMOSPHERE , YOU EVEN BROUGHT YOUR DOGS AND I DIDN'T REQUEST DEPOSIT.

Beautiful property, very clean.

Our stay was a short one, however, we enjoyed what time we had. The interior was beautiful, the pool was clean and the property had a neat waterfront view. We had everything we needed and the owner was prompt with responses.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER !!!

The property was convenient to get to and well maintained. The unit overall was very clean, which was important to us. The kitchen and living areas were in excellent condition. The beds were very comfy. Barbara the owner very nice person, easy to communicate and respond promptly.

condition of property

Home had good bones but was in disrepair. Screen doors did not slide (we purchased WD40 to assist entry and exit.) Blinds were in sad shape - did not close properly. Pool was not heated as we were told it was. We didn't use the pool. Garage door did not operate. We were told it would be replaced on March 5 but was not replaced (without motor) until March 26 or 27. Cable was disrupted due to non payment and was reinstated after a call to managing company. We found a large roach in master bedroom. We"ve rented before and were always pleased with house and amenities. This was very disappointing.

THANKS FOR BEING PART OF HOMEAWAY AND VRBO BUT GUESTS LIKE YOU IT'S HARD TO MAKE THEM FEEL HAPPY NO WHERE , YOUR WIFE ARRIVE TO THE HOUSE WITH NOT EVEN 10 MINUTES INSIDE THE HOUSE SHE WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT POT HOLDERS, PLEASE, YOU WERE RENTING EVERY DAY WAS A COMPLAINT, SORRY BUT NOT WELCOME I JUST RENT THE PROPERTY TO GUESTS FOR THEM TO ENJOY THE HOUSE, THE TIME THEY ARE GOING TO SPEND WITH THE FAMILY NOT TO MAKE OTHERS THEIR LIFE MISERABLE. ANOTHER OF YOUR COMPLAINT WAS THAT THE WASHER DIDN'T FILL UP TO THE TOP, THIS IS A NEW WASHER WHERE THE NEW SYSTEM WORKS DEPEND ON THE LOAD OF CLOTHES WITH SENSOR TO SAVE ENERGY AND WATER ,IT WAS VERY STRESSFUL THIS RENTAL. I DON'T APPRECIATE EVERY DAY A NEW COMPLAINT.

Never stayed

Booked this to celebrate my father's birthday, Hurricane Irma was coming so we had to cancel, owner never refunded our money and we still haven't heard back from her. Truly disappointed, she told us before the storm hit we could reschedule but we expressed we would not want to because my brother was in from Mexico and it was supposed to be for the family. Hurricane Irma ended up hitting directly the area where the home is as well as where we live in Centeal Florida, there was no way we would jeopardize our family's safety. Poorly handled by owner since she still has not responded after trying to reach her for weeks. Beware!!!!

Great getaway

The only down side to this stay was that we were only there for 1 night passing through the area, would have like to have stayed a week. It has a good location in a nice neighborhood, in good shape & great home to stay in, nice sitting around the pool or out at the canal.

Conveniently located, nice amenities and responsive owner

The property is centrally located in a nice, quiet residential area of Cape Coral. There is easy access to a number of attractions, beaches, nature and quality dining options within 5 - 30 miles (10 - 45 minute drive). The owner was very helpful, accommodating and responsive. The property was nicely appointed, clean and provided a lot of space. The large patio area by the pool was a wonderful area to sit, gather and relax. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent this property again.
