GATHER YOUR TRIBE AT THE SHADY PINE!

We're excited to have you come visit!

The cabin is well furnished and extra cozy. It's equipped with lightning fast fiber optic WIFI, Smart TV, a full kitchen, coffee bar, and an extra-long dining table. All beds are brand new and all linens are white. Outside you'll find the hot tub, firepit, and lots of rocking chairs and seating options.

There is a ping-pong table, corn hole boards, mini air-hockey table, old time record player, TV with video games and a DVD player with movies in the garage. Great spot for kids or to flip open the garage doors on a nice day and enjoy time with family and friends. You will also find an old-timey, hand crank, ice cream maker for your use.

Outdoors, there are lots of relaxing options from the covered porch, outdoor breakfast table, rocking chairs, and firepit. And, don't forget the hot tub!

There are several marinas who rent by the hour or day. The Shady Pine is located 1.5 miles from Browns Ford boat ramp. Plenty of parking and trailer storage.

We have two, adult-size KAYAKS for your use during boating season (April 15-Oct 15). We will also provide (2) adult-size life jackets,(2) child-size life jackets, and oars.

**Please note: Our walkway to the cove is 120 steps and may be difficult for small children or some older people to manage.

Cove Conditions:
Please Note: Barren River Lake is at summer pool May 15-Oct 15. Our cove varies in depth during this time from 3' to 30' depending rain and the Corp of Engineers. We are at the lower/fishing end of the lake, always good for kayaking during summer pool.

Our cove could be dry during Oct 15-May 15. But, still a great atmosphere and plenty of nature to explore.

The hosts were very accommodating! Responded quickly, which made planning things way easier. You can 100% tell they pay attention to detail, and offer many amenities! This cabin was absolutely perfect for an all girls weekend cabin trip! We felt very safe.

The best vacation rental we have ever used! So much thought put into the little details that made it feel so homey. The cabin is beautiful and you canā€™t beat the location. We rented a boat at a nearby marina, but decided we would have been just as happy hanging around the cabin.

Wonderful Family Vacation

Our family enjoyed a wonderful time at the cabin. It was very clean and inviting with clear instructions/ labels throughout. There were so many things to enjoy from hot tub to kayaking on the lake to ping pong and air hockey. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable escape for the family and a close drive to Mammoth Cave which we had wanted to visit for the first time. Highly recommended!

What a nice property! What thoughtful hosts! Everything we needed was there with a note to help find it. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was stocked for all the cooking. Definitely recommending to friends.

This house is fantastic!! It is beautiful, the view is gorgeous, the dock for fishing is great, the beds are comfortable, the game/ play area in the basement was so much fun and is a great place to hang out, and the owners have gone above and beyond providing everything you could possibly need! There are so many little touches that make your stay easy and relaxing. They have little signs everywhere explaining how things work (which is so very helpful in a rental home), they provide blankets for the campfire, campfire supplies, tons of gaming equipment, cozy blankets for the living room, and so many other things! The hot tub was very clean and worked well. We travel multiple times a year and have stayed at a lot of vacation homes and this host was by far one of the best to work with and one of the best at providing everything you could need! We highly recommended this home!

Perfect Spring Break Getaway

Beautiful cabin tucked into a private area of the lake. The cabin was decorated very tastefully and we had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. My daughter loved the game room downstairs and hot tub. She also liked fishing in the lake. Gorgeous views from the cabin.

Great spot.

Area is great for fishing. Water was 30 feet above summer pool. If water was closer to normal depth, this part of the lake would be ideal for bass, crappie, catfish, and any panfish you might be fishing for.

Wonderful Fall Break

We had a nice relaxing time at the Shandy Pine. Everything we needed to cook and grill was there. We wanted to kayak but the dock was damaged by recent flooding, and the other dock was kind of a haul, so we decided to rent a boat from a marina on the lake instead. We Definitely recommend that! The hot tub was also a great alternative. The kids and adults loved the game room! There were so many tiny details that made us feel right at home! Thank you for sharing your little slice of peace with us!

Thanksgiving getaway

This beautiful & well appointed cabin is all it is described as, and more! All of my family, ages 10 & up 6 of us) thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. So very relaxing with the fireplace, hot tub, games galore and hiking! We also visited Kennyā€™s cheese farm! This cabin & location is a wonderful place to celebrate any holiday!

Great for families

Beautiful cabin, fully stocked and all the amenities, very well kept and decorated. My family enjoyed the hot tub, walking down the boardwalk to the cove, and proximity to our tours. Perfect stay for visiting Mammoth Cave NP, Kentucky Down Under and the National Corvette Museum.

The Shady Pine is a joint venture between two lifelong friends that live in Louisville, KY. We searched lake property at Barren River Lake for over 3 years. Not kidding! The real estate agents and builders will vouch for us. :) We knew we loved the lake, but soon figured out that we loved the area as well, and especially the people. We could not be happier with our choice.
