SAFETY AND OTHER ISSUES
The communication with the property manager/ host, Kimberly, was excellent. She was very responsive to all of our questions. However, I do not think we will be repeating this stay. We ran into problems from the very start of our day before checking in. Upon arriving at the property, you come across a security gate that you need to punch in a code that was sent to you in advance with the check in the process; however, the box you need to use to punch in the number did not work at all, and we couldn’t come in.
We had to wait for someone to come in and follow them since the security person at the gate did not bother to help us. Following this first problem, we got to the house, and we did not receive the code for the key lockbox, so we had to call the contact person, who did not answer right away. Once getting the code, we checked out the place and found several safety hazards, maintenance issues, and cleanness.
Serval window handles throughout the house were broken. (Master bedroom, foyer, and one of the bedrooms. Although the A/C units were on, the areas didn’t cool down because of the hot air coming in. Since the windows don’t close, all the noises from outside could be heard clearly (trash pick-up, dogs, cars, even a rooster).
We encounter serval issues in the bathrooms as well. The tubs didn’t seem as if they were recently cleaned; there was dirty and had hair in the drains. In addition, there is a filthy non-slip pad in the tub of the hall bathroom. The location of the downstairs is comfortable, although a bit on the small side.
The upstairs railing is very loose and wiggles, present to be a hazard to anyone with small Childers or elderly that need to hold on as they descend. The downstairs bathroom is convenient, although the sink is small and uncomfortable.
There are only two bedrooms out of the 4 that you can actually sleep in. The rooms with window issues had fans, but they were filthy as well. In addition, ignorer to sleep in the master bedroom I had to clean one of the fans.
We noticed that the front door was installed backward. The door hinges are on the outside, and there is a gap between the doors that allows someone from the outside to look inside.
