Welcome to the Walden, a space of seclusion in the Great Smoky Mountains. This cabin sits quietly in the forest with no other cabins in sight. Privacy is a priority with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Ample parking allows for up to 3 vehicles. Relax on the wrap around deck or soak in the hot tub nestled in the forest. Fast WiFi is available to handle multiple devices, or play a game of pool and check out the arcade in the loft. Keep it chill, no parties. Minimum rental age is 25. Located 15 minutes from the Parkway. There is a $150 pet fee. Please indicate if you are bringing your pet at time of booking.

It looked and functioned as advertised. Great secluded spot with good views. Great for privacy and quiet times. Close enough to attractions to enjoy them but we chose it for the privacy and game room to keep kids entertained without having to go out too often. Clean and stocked with what we needed. Hot tub worked well. New Blackstone Grill worked well.

The cabin was inviting, warm, and cozy… which was exactly what we wanted for the Christmas holiday. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility The Walden offered during this time of year. We are looking forward to more vacations in this area!

Tara is a true gem. The cabin is absolutely gorgeous, peaceful, and has all the amenities. The gated community is such a plus. We felt safe and secure our entire trip. Roads are very curvy and steep as you reach the cabin, so we were thankful for beautiful weather. The cleaning service is top notch. This is by far the cleanest VRBO residence we’ve stayed in. If you want a beautiful stay, great host, and fun for all ages, pick the Walden’s cabin getaway.

This house was a perfect getaway for our 3 kids & 3 dogs too! Super relaxing and quiet cabin that is about mid mountain. This cabin has everything from beautiful views off the deck where you can have a cup of hot cocoa or coffee and listen to the birds, to enjoying a family game of pool on the mid size table, to relaxing in the hot tub just off the MBR so it’s even enjoyable in the cold. Yes, this is in the mountains so the drive into the community has a decently sloped road and the driveway is steep to get up to the spectacular view, but we managed in the minivan. The driveway has a nice flat area up by the fire pit which makes it a lot easier on parking for the non 4x4’s. Dogs! This was great because we could bring all 3 and there was plenty of room even for all their beds. The MBR had a big closet/laundry area that gives you some extra space if you need it. There is a dog park that’s about 0.8 miles and a quick drive away. The cabin is also stocked nicely with all the essentials from cooking, to grilling, towels/ toiletries, & even towels for the hot tub!One of the best memories was for the first three days the boys played pool non stop, not even touching either of the two arcade games.Cell reception is spotty in the mountains but the cabin has great WiFi and is also set up so you can stream any subscriptions you have too. The cabin is also only about 20 min from Pigeon Forge. Overall really great getaway that was really relaxing. We hope to go back soon!

This cabin was so cute & cozy! The beds were amazing to sleep on, the hot tub was clean, and the vibe was immaculate! My son (7) claimed the loft bedroom with all the games! We enjoyed playing pool in the evenings before getting in the hot tub after spending the day out & about! Perfect little tucked away cabin in a secure location, just far enough away to be secluded & close enough to get to everything!

This is a beautiful home, so secluded and right in the beautiful trees. We loved the peacefulness. Tara was very responsive to any questions we had. The driveway is steep but it was a fun adventure to get to the house. The fall foliage was spectacular. A bear tried to get in our car one night.(left a paw print) Thankfully we had been told to keep the doors locked and no food in the car. We loved being right in nature with the bears. We never saw a bear in shagbark (community were cabin is located), but we did see one on the roadside on way to Gatlinberg. We have ATT and we were thankful that the house had great Wifi because our phone did not get service anywhere in the SMNP, we did get a little service in pigeon forge. I would recommend downloading an offline map before you enter the area. (Depending on your cell provider) We did Smokey mountains ziplining and it was a blast.

Property was well maintained and family, pet friendly if this is what you are looking for. Grill needed some attention, location was less scenic than we had hoped and the fire pit was further away from a usable space in our opinion. Overall a nice, comfortable stay.

The cabin was in a great location, away from town, so nice & quiet. It was super close to everything though. We loved the drive to town & back. We used the hot tub every day, really enjoyed it!We saw a mama bear and 2 cubs one evening, near the outdoor fireplace! That was really cool! We made a great choice, picking this cabin!

The Walden was an amazing place to unplug and get away from daily life. Very secluded and cozy. A “tree top” getaway! Our host was very responsive to any questions we had and accommodated our pets as well. We arrived to the cabin with 2 watering bowls provided for our pups. Even though the dog park was at the bottom of the mountain and a little further from the cabin than expected, it was still very well kept and the pups loved it! Overall a great place and we enjoyed our little family vacation!

We enjoyed our week stay. This was our first time visiting the Smoky Mountains and the cabin was in a perfect location for visiting both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The setting was so quiet and peaceful and we even got to see a bear walking down the road while sitting on the deck drinking coffee. The cabin was very clean, especially for being pet friendly. There was no pet smell or damage. Highly recommend.

Overall we had a great time. The scenery was beautiful, and we saw lots of bears. The kids loved the pool table and arcade games. My only gripe was that the cleaning appeared to be quickly done, could definitely use a good deep cleaning.

It's quiet and private. It's just enough for a family to get away from the grind and enjoy nature. Enjoy a very private hot tub or take the family down the mountain to the resort pool, or to the community Pavilion for disc golf, a putting green and even a dog park!

The Shagbark resort has a community pool open during the Summer months. It has a playground, dog park, disc golf course and putting green. Security is on sight 24/7 for total peace of mind!
