The Pearl of the Sea

We just renovated our precious little beach house. Now it's just too adorable to not share it with the world. Fun Caribbean colors and mood. 5 min drive to the beach. Close to grocery stores and Walmart. Big fenced back yard for kids and dogs to play in. Boat parking for those who love to fish! Great location for bird watchers! We provide ALL the amenities for you to feel right at home...just bring your swimsuit, binoculars and fishing pole!

Our lovely home features 2 queen beds, one bunk bed. Washer & dryer. 55" TV with cable, Netflix, Hulu - Hulu has HBO MAX & Showtime. Kitchen has a double oven with a glass cooktop - for those who love to cook. Keurig coffee maker. Water dispenser (water refill station at end of the block) and refillable water bottles in case you don't like tap water.

Cleanliness: we also disinfect the home after each guest with an electrostatic sprayer (in addition to cleaning) to help everyone stay healthy!

If you have never been to Rockport then you are missing out! Rockport beach is the only Texas certified beach included in USA Today's annual list of "10 Best beaches." The mile-long Texas Gulf Coast beach was also named a "blue wave" beach by the Clean Beaches Coalition, a network that promotes clean, healthy and well-managed beaches around the world. A Blue Wave Beach is clean, managed responsibly and has a focus on the protection of human health and the environment. Blue Wave Beaches are litter free, have handicap accessibility, public restroom facilities and swimmable waters. Blue Wave is the first environmental certification program for beaches in the nation. It's perfect for kids with a playground and looks like a resort, and complimentary palapas.

We really enjoyed our stay overall. The house was very nice, clean, and conveniently located—close to everything we needed, which made our trip much easier. However, there were a couple of issues worth mentioning. There was a very strong odor throughout the home, which smelled like an attempt to mask animal urine. Unfortunately, this triggered my children’s allergies. Additionally, the back room was extremely hot and uncomfortable, even with fans. With those exceptions, the property itself was well-kept and comfortable.

Perfect place!

This house is the perfect distance from the beach a short 3 minute drive! Loved the location and the layout. We will definitely stay here again for future visits.

Great Getaway

We love the location for us. The house fits our needs

Overall, we had a great experience with this property. There was a few hiccups along the way, but Melissa was very good about taking care of the problems quickly. We had a great stay, and will hopefully be going again.

Absolutely perfect

This was our third stay at Pearl by the Sea and it was just as good as the first two. We’ll be back in August in fact. Melissa is a great host and her home is lovely.

Great beach house

We had a fantastic stay. The location is perfect, our 3 children loved their rooms and the bed was very comfortable for us. The beach is a very short drive away, the property was perfectly clean with plenty of things that you might need. A thoughtful surprise was k-cups with creamer in the fridge, so I didn't have to go buy coffee in the morning. We will definitely stay here again, although it was a perfect size for our family this year with young kids, it will continue to be so as they grow as well.

Bright, well-provisioned house!

We enjoyed this brightly painted house. It was well-provisioned! We got good use out of the kitchen and laundry. It was a comfortable house, we felt very at home here--my kids loved the bunk beds. Our dog liked the yard, too! We would definitely stay here again.

Great location!

The location is fantastic! We are a family of 6 so the 3 bedrooms are great. There's ample space in the living room to hang out and talk or play games after a day at the beach! Only seating for 4 at the kitchen table so the adults stood during dinner, but that's not a big deal. Only downside is there is no dishwasher.

Woefully Inadequate

The property was not clean or pet friendly. The yard did not have a “garden spot” but was littered with cigarette butts, construction debris, paint cans, broken pieces of blue plastic from a pail holding ashes from the rusted grill. There was no cable TV as described or basic cutlery, pans, glassware etc

Great space

Yard was much larger than expected from the pics. Yea! Host was exceptionally communicative and we were able to trade one favor for another. Bedrooms AC did not cool extremely, but were adequate. Ceiling fans located in two bedrooms, dining and living area, plus stand fan. We were quite comfortable. Location is perfect distance to the beach and downtown. If my family wasnt growing wed be back! 🙂

winter get away stay

It was a first time in Rockport TX and our first time getting out of a northern winter. We stayed mid- January to mid February. The weather wasn't as warm as we had hoped. The house is on a busy and noisy street. We appreciated the fenced in yard for our dog. The neighbor was so helpful for information. A month was too long on the beds. We wished that the windows opened so on the warmer days we could have opened them.

Great House!

Our stay in rockport was great. The pictures don't do this home justice. The front of the home is beautiful. The backyard is huge and very well fenced in. They're is a covered concrete patio area as well. It has 3 chairs and a charcoal grill and access from the kitchen/dining area. Our two small (10lb) Weiner dogs came with us and were not able to escape the fencing. All holes were covered and secured. Sadly rockports main beach area does not allow dogs. The inside of the home was very spacious and colorful. Overall our stay was amazing! Hope to come back soon!

This was our second stay in this property. We very much appreciated the 3 bedrooms and the 4 beds, there were enough towels for the entire family, and the location is close to Rockport Beach! They also provide things to help you get through the first day without forcing you to shop, like shampoo/conditioner, body wash, and laundry soap. The host is also very quick to respond to any concerns! We had an issue connecting to the WiFi and they were able to help us connect within minutes.This stay, however, we were not as impressed with the condition of the property. There were a bunch of stains on the carpet in the living room and it smelled like pee - when we sent a message to the host (to make sure we were not held liable for either issue), they acknowledged the stains were there but did not comment on the smell at all. Also, the back bedroom with the bunk beds does not have good A/C. The window unit was not working to cool anything down so when we would close the door at night time it would quickly climb to the mid 80s and we were forced to keep the door open.Throughout the weekend, we also had trouble with the toilet tank not filling so the toilet would not flush. The right handle on the shower would not turn on until you pushed it in while turning and the two chairs to the table in the living room were broken. The walls, baseboards, and doors were dirty and the windows were older and not sealed well anymore.

My husband and I live in Austin and discovered Rockport ourselves just a 2-3 years ago. We had driven to South Padre Island to go to the beach...but it was just too far a drive. We drove to Galveston but found the beaches lacking. We tried Port Aransas, but felt it was a tourist trap. Finally we stayed in Rockport and fell in love! This small town is friendly, quiet and has a lovely stretch of clean beach with complimentary palapas and great fishing. We feel Rockport is Texas's best kept secret!

We stayed in Rockport in July 2020 for our very first vacation since Covid-19 started. We had such a peace come over us as we drove across the bridge to our own VRBO rental. We asked ourselves - why don't we look for a place here? We happen to be at the rental during a category 1 hurricane and thought...this is the perfect time to see how houses weathered a storm. Our Pearl of the Sea was sitting there completely pristine, no standing water in the street, no leaks. It had such a happy homey feel - we knew it was meant to be ours. Just needed some brightening up to show off her beauty! It is a great escape from the norm. Excellent change of scenery and mood to reflect, re-charge and reset!
