A nature lovers retreat - private hot tub and pool

Escape and enjoy nature and tranquillity with this beautiful Aragon cottage, Gite du Petit Bois, set in 4 hectares in the heart of the Garrigue, an area renowned for its outstanding natural beauty in one of the most diverse and most stunning ecosystems in the South of France. Abundant with Pine trees, Lavender, Thyme, white Cistus and hundreds of other alpine plants and Orchids. All accessible right from the moment you step out of your front door, you will be taken back by the delicious aroma of the pines and herbs which surround the property.

From the cottage and its terrace, you will be able to enjoy extensive views over the Black Mountains, Mountain Alaric and the Pyrenees, all set in the picturesque village of Aragon, which has been officially recognised as ‘one of the prettiest villages in France.’

There is also a hot tub where you can enjoy stargazing, listening to the gentle ring of the Cicadas, crickets, wild birds whilst admiring the twinkling lights from the Southern villages in the distant Aude valley. As well as the use of a 10 x 5 metres pool with views onto the surrounding countryside.

This cottage has been designed with comfort in mind and to make the most of the stunning views and local habitat.

Consisting of a high-end modern kitchen with a floating glass Juliet balcony looking over the Garrigue valley. Leading onto a comfortable lounge/dining room. There is also direct access onto the covered terrace with sun loungers, hot tub (available all year) and private swimming pool.

Upstairs there is an elegant master bedroom, a separate dressing room/study and a luxurious modern bathroom, where you can enjoy views of the black mountains.

The cottage is cosy in the winter and cool during the summer due to its underfloor heating and cooling system.

There is also a designated parking space.

There are hundreds of walks to enjoy right from the doorstep as well as over 400k of mountain bike tracks and tennis courts within a few minutes walk. If you love combining nature with sport this is the perfect location for you. If you would like to explore the area in a more gentle way you could always hire an electric bike at Colin Bike located in the village.

This area is also a dog walker's paradise so we can accept well-behaved pooches as long as they stay on the ground floor during your stay. This is at our discretion, please enquire before booking.

The location offers the perfect combination of town and country, as Carcassonne, La Cite, and Carcassonne airport are all within a short fifteen minutes drive. If you don’t want to venture out during your stay you can head down to the local village shop, where you can also enjoy having a drink next to a trickling brook or buy a fresh baguette and your favourite bottle of local wine.

Colin Bike and Tapas Bar also hosts live events outside most weekends during summer and is a lovely place to enjoy tapas and a glass of wine whilst taking in the breathtaking views of Aragon and beyond.

If you fancy enjoying a gastronomic meal in the village during your stay then we would highly recommend a trip to La Bergerie, a top-rated restaurant run by Chef Fabien Galibert, renowned for his Michelin stars who delights the taste buds with his cuisine.

There are plenty of board games and books to enjoy in the cottage. If you are looking for a place to completely unwind this is the place for you. We cannot promise the fastest WIFI connection but we can promise that this is one of the most peaceful places to stay in the South of France.
