Wahluna Terrace Retreat includes 2 houses that can be booked individually or together. Look for Wahluna Terrace Retreat Unit A and Unit B.

Enjoy sweeping views of Wallowa Lake and the Wallowa Mountains from this centrally located house. Cross the Wallowa Lake Hwy and you are at the beach and boat ramp or drive a few minutes to the activities at the other end of the lake including the Wallowa Lake Tram, hiking, miniature golf, water boats, kayaks, or a burger and beer. Or, drive one mile to the visitor-friendly town of Joseph and experience restaurants, galleries, shopping and the bronze art walk (to name a few). The house is a 3 bedroom 2 bath that sleeps 6. It has a fully stocked kitchen ready for your enjoyment and full laundry facilities with detergent provided. The expansive front deck is ready for your sunrise, sunset and BBQ experiences. The property includes lots of room to play in the yard and grab an apple from the many fruit trees.

Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had six family members at this house for four days and absolutely loved it. The house is extremely comfortable, the view of the lake and mountains is incredible and the location is a nice balance of close enough to the lake and to Joseph, OR without being smack in the middle of a lot of other people.

We had a great time at our house, everything was as described and the Mountain View is amazing. Lots of quick access to trails nearby for any hikes and super short drive to downtown Joseph or anything around Wallowa Lake.

A Magical Retreat

What a magical retreat this was for our family. Being able to walk across the street for our paddle boarding adventures was amazing. The deck/view was so peaceful. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Vaca Spot w/ Unbeatable View

Perfect spot for two couples or families. The views during the day and stars at night - magical. We enjoyed the deer that frequent the yard. So many fun experiences- Joseph Branch Railriders (we did the trip out of Minam), gondola/hiking, kayaking, ATV in Hells Canyon, hiking Chief Joseph Trail. Enjoyed Terminal Gravity and Embers Restaurants.Such a joy to come back to our cozy home and relax enjoying the views.

Wonderful Lake and Mountain Views

We enjoyed our stay at Wahluna Terrace. We spent mornings and evenings on the deck enjoying the outstanding views. Diane is a terrific hostess, checking in to make sure everything is satisfactory. She provides lots of information about the area making sure you don't miss a thing! We would love to come back and rent both of her houses to bring family.

Experience the most breathtaking views of the lake

Wow, where do I even start? The view here is absolutely breathtaking! With the beautiful lake right in front and the stunning Eagle Cap Mountains in the background, it feels like weā€™re in a postcard. The house had everything we could possibly want, which made our stay super cozy. There was more than enough parking, and we really enjoyed being able to stroll over to the lake for some swimming or head to the nearby boat dock for paddleboard and kayak rentals. Plus, being just a hop away from the lovely city of Joseph was a huge bonus! We even spotted a few deer in the yard every dayā€”how cool is that? Our days were packed with awesome adventures like horseback riding along the mountain trails, fishing and taking a scenic tram ride. It was such a fantastic experience for our whole family, from the little ones to the grandparents!

Great location

We love the view off the deck. Could sit there all day if Mother Nature cooperates. The house is comfortable and has everything you'd possibly need. Zero complaints. Stayed there two years in a row and it won't be the last time.

Peaceful getaway!

So peaceful. Visits from the deer every morning and evening. Diane Daggett was a terrific host. Genuinely concerned about our satisfaction with her home. Some quiet downtime was just what we had. The view simply, just can't be beat. Loved our stay!

Beautiful Wallowa Lake Family Home

This house was my childhood home. It was unbelievable that it is now a rental property. Our family thoroughly loved the view of "our" lake and sharing memories of living in the house. The house has been nicely updated and refreshed. It was awesome!! I would recommend staying here. We hope to be guests whenever we plan a trip to Joseph.

Perfect house, perfect view, perfect stay

The title pretty much sums it up ā€” this property sits right across from Lake Wallowa and offers sweeping views of the water and mountains that border it. The town of Joseph is a mile or so down the road, and there's a greenbelt that runs right past the house if you want to walk or bike into town. The host, Diane, is super communicative and responsive, and goes to great lengths to ensure the property is in pristine condition. When we get back to Joseph, this will be the place we stay again ā€” it's just perfect. Thank you!

Awaken to an amazing view

The house was well appointed and very comfortable. The view of Wallowa Lake was superb and we spent as much time as we could on the deck. Cooked every meal in an efficient kitchen. Across the street from the dock and beach. Bathrooms were clean and functional although the tub/shower in the main BR was slippery and no grab bars or mat for safety. Mattresses were tired. Overall, an excellent rental. We will be back.

Ok but far from great

The house is old (but was refurbished at some point with medium quality materials). It has a tiny bath and a half (plus a full bath) which has no real room to hang towels or put toiletries. The house is totally devoid of things that make a home comfortable, like throw pillows, comfortable living area and deck chairs, rugs, easy to operate TV, etc. Neighbors surround you on three sides but only one neighbor has four-five vehicles in his driveway, mows his grass early in the morning, cooks outside with the smoke billowing over to the deck of the house, and is generally intrusive on your privacy unless youā€™re inside the house with the blinds drawn on one side. Itā€™s not a waterfront house, itā€™s a waterview house with a road and a public boat launch and county park in front of the house. The hostess is so-so on communication, with frequent snippety answers or retorts to your questions or concerns. She apparently thinks having deer on her lawn near the deck is something to encourage and enjoy, even when they are constantly relieving themselves on the paver pathway to the house door (which of course can be easily tracked into the house).. Very unsanitary and the hostessā€™s response was ā€œmost guests like themā€. Itā€™s a question of sanitariness (and whatā€™s best for the deer, which should be relegated to the wild for their own well-being and not relaxing in the front yard of an old house in a crowded subdivision.). The hostess did shovel off the deer ā€œlitterā€ as she calls it.

Perfect size, clean & roomy. Thought we would be right on the lake but were across the road. Beautiful view of lake. Enjoyed different deer coming in the yard eating the apples.

View and Comfortable

Having the unobstructed view of the Wallowa mountains and Wallowa lake were beyond wonderful -- each morning we were greeted with deer families nibbling in the front yard. We loved the house, warm and welcoming. Our four days there couldn't have been better.

Lovely late summer trip!

We all loved our stay in Joseph. The house was even better in person than in the pics and was very well equipped and so convenient to the water and town. There were resident deer and even a bobcat walked through, which was all really spectacular. We all would definitely stay here again. Check in and out was very easy as well. Por que o anfitriĆ£o escolheu essa propriedade

Wahluna Terrace Subdivision was established in the 1950's creating a few lots on the terminal moraine (glacial deposit creating a water barrier to hold the lake waters) of Wallowa Lake. From there, the most iconic lake and mountain views can be enjoyed. With the adoption of land use planning laws as well as the citizens' desire to protect the area, there will likely not be additional lots created. So, we treasure this property and hope it will be in our family for generations to come.

The subdivision was named after 'Wahluna' who was a daughter of Chief Red Wolf of the Wallowa Band Nez Perce (Nimi'ipuu) people. According to the legend (full story is in the house for you), she is remembered as the 'Great peacemaker'.

O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?

The location of the house is great. Not only does it have great views, it is a short distance to the beaches and the boat ramp at the north end of the lake. It is close to downtown Joseph or go the other direction and find yourself at the south end of the lake where there are attractions, trail heads and lots of things to do. It is just a short distance west to the Iwtemlaykin park or to the trailhead that accesses the top of the moraine for a nice long hike! But, most of all, it is comfortable. Stay in and relax...
