Enjoy the privacy and comfort of this beautifully appointed stand-alone luxury cottage, thoughtfully designed for families and small groups. Featuring two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a private den with doors for added privacy, this spacious retreat comfortably accommodates up to six guests. The den includes a queen-size sleeper sofa, creating a flexible third sleeping area perfect for additional family or friends.

The primary bedroom offers a comfortable queen bed and an en-suite bathroom, while the second bedroom features two twin beds. The open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area provides the perfect gathering space for relaxing after a day at the beach or enjoying time together.

As a guest of Sleepy Hollow Beach Resort, you'll enjoy access to exceptional amenities, including 1,000 feet of private Lake Michigan beach, an Olympic-size heated swimming pool, tennis and pickleball courts, beautifully landscaped grounds, and spectacular sunsets.

This stand-alone cottage rents Sunday to Sunday.

We booked Cottage 7, it was the perfect mix of cozy and convenient. It had everything we needed-kitchen, comfy beds, and all the little touches that made it feel like home. Our kids loved being right by the water, running around outside, and spending time at the lake. It was so nice to have a place where they could play and explore while we could relax and enjoy the view. The resort itself felt peaceful but still family-friendly, which is exactly what we were looking for. If you’re looking for a getaway that’s relaxing but still has plenty to do with kids, I’d definitely recommend staying here. We left with full hearts, happy kids, and already talking about coming back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice retro beach resort. Something for everyone. Beautiful long beach, (many stairs if that's a problem.) Cottages were retro, but mostly in good repair. Our entrance key/lock could use a replacement, and we thought we were getting 3 bedrooms. The 3rd was a pull couch in the TV room. But it still worked for us. A very small detail was no good coffee cups....little tiny stemmed European things didn't cut it, lol ! Overall a nice stay and beautiful location.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are repeat guests every summer. We love Sleepy Hollow. You can’t beat the private beach and beach access. It’s such a great place for a family vacation. The kids enjoy their bikes, tennis and pickle ball courts, pool, ping pong and the grass area to play games. You can reserve a fire pit and they provide firewood, kids love making s’mores at sunset on the beach. Cottage number 7 is great. Our kids sleep in the room with 2 twin beds and we have the master. There’s also a den with a pull out couch. We love the front sitting area, it’s so peaceful and has great light. We also like kitchen table and banquet sitting area. We’ve had someGreat meals and card games at that table. Can’t wait for next year.

Nostalgic, but Contemporary

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I visited Sleepy Hollow for ten years straight as I was growing up. I was delighted to return with my family this year. The cottages have all been updated to modern ammenities without taking away from their early 1900's architecture or past cozy appeal. The cottage was perfect for our family of five. Two were in the "children's" bedroom in the twin beds and one slept on the pullout sofa in the "den." (Two could've easily slept on the pullout sofa.) The bedrooms are a little tight, but there are closets and dressers in each as well.) The communal living area is more spacious. Just wish the TV was in that room over the fireplace, as opposed to the smaller den that we were using as a third bedroom. (There is a TV in the master bedroom too.) Two bathrooms and larger counter area in the bathroom with tub is super nice. Bathroom off the master is fancy! The kitchen area was spacious and we appreciated our dishwasher! There was a table that could seat up to 7, as well as a large island with bar stools. The refrigerator was normal sized (not overly small.) I loved the washer/dryer in the basement too. There was even a folding table that I was able to fold clothes on. The beach was a short walk away and we really enjoyed watching the South Haven fireworks from the Sleepy Hollow beach on July 3rd. My kids (ranging from 8-14) felt that the kids activities were too young for them. The gorgeous beach and lake, though were certainly very entertaining too. (We didn't make it to the yoga or tennis sessions. These may have proved a better match.) The drive to downtown South Haven is super short. We also drove to Saugatuck (20 mintues) and Holland (30 minutes) some nights.

Covid Escape July 2020

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very grateful to have been able to stay this year. BUT- Unit 7 was the dirtiest unit I have ever stayed in. I have been a guest for 58 years. There was mold on a shower curtain that had been there for a very long time. The master bath had mold as well. Dirty dishes in the cabinets. I had to go to the office for toilet paper twice in the week, there were no extra rolls in the bathrooms. And housekeeping never dropped off any. There were cobwebs heading down to the basement in the window that were covering it. The overall unit is beautiful. Not sure why it was not clean,we had to wait an extra day to check in for cleaning. Not sure what they used the extra day for. We made it work and enjoyed the week with my extended family who are owners of one of the cottages. The new beach embankment will hopefully help the erosion happening due to the lake rising. It was great for our group as we are all adults, very unfriendly for small kids though.

I hate to criticize the resort because it was a difficult summer. I tried talking to the manager and a boardmember and neither wanted to hear our issues...was discouraged by their reactions.

The only complaints are the shower curtain had mold on it, and the lack of beach which I understand is not under your control however the weekly fees for rental are in your control. I have been staying at Sleepy Hollow for 15 yrs and every year there is an increase. The year 2020 should not have an increase in price. Jackie in the office is wonderful.
