Hutchins Lake Retreat

Charming, updated 3 bedroom, 2 bath home on Hutchins Lake. Enjoy views of the lake from almost every room in the house! The private dock and lake frontage is across the street from the front yard, in a quiet cove.

The minimum age to rent the property is 27. Parking is limited to three vehicles tandem in the driveway and carport.

Within a ten minute drive of the house are multiple wineries, orchards and the charming towns of Fennville, Douglas, and Saugatuck.

This 2 story home has an open floor plan with two living areas, two dining areas, large front patio of the living/dining room with lake view, private back deck area with outdoor dining and living areas, kitchen with all modern amenities including quartz counters and stainless steel appliances.

Hutchins Lake is a 350-acre all sports lake, with wake times limited to 11:00am to 7:00pm daily, contributing to the relaxing environment and great fishing. This home is located on a quiet, low key street with friendly neighbors and truly amazing sunrise views. Parking is limited to three vehicles tandem in the driveway and carport. You'll have access to the entire home as well as the private lake frontage and dock. We are close by and available by email, phone or text, but will otherwise stay out of your way!

After booking is confirmed, guest and host will execute a separate rental agreement. It is a standard contract that is required by my insurance company and shouldn't contain any surprises.

Very clean! Looked exactly like pictures. Kitchen had everything we needed, beds were comfortable, and view of the lake was perfect! We enjoyed sitting outside around the fire pit watching the swans on the lake.

Beautiful lakefront home on Hutchins Lake

Super easy check in/out, and communication with owner and overall experience was first rate. House is beautifully updated/decorated, and comes with everything needed (e.g., kitchen well stocked, laundry available, bathroom and kitchen basics provided). Lakefront porch with fire pit was great in the evenings. Area is excellent for biking walking/running, boating (we used kayaks from house regularly). Saugatuck, Holland and South Haven a short drive away. Exceptional experience and a wonderful week, we plan to go back.

Peaceful get away

We really enjoyed this property. The neighborhood is peaceful, yet it is within 15-20 minutes of cities like Holland and South Haven. The lake is gorgeous, and the house is lovely. We would be happy to stay here again.

Summer Vacation

Ladies Trip

This home is CLEAN, welcoming, and was perfect for our getaway. Our party of five women felt very comfortable. It was extremely hot while we were there, and didn’t get the chance to sit around the fire pit. Instead, we enjoyed morning coffee looking at the beautiful lake. Michelle, the host, is extremely kind and friendly. Perfect location to visit wineries and coastal towns.

This property is simply amazing!

Unquestionably one of the best rentals in the area. Complete lake access, despite it being winter, I was able to walk on the lake ice, talk to ice fisherman, do an entire walk around the lake, enjoy the local winery (within walking distance), watch numerous neighbors parade past the wall of windows open to the lake, and, was completely felt completely like I was in my own home away from home. Beds and pillows are fabulous, kitchen top quality and well stocked, and the attention to detail beyond compare. I highly recommend the home for anyone looking to have access to great restaurants, wineries, recreation, and just a simple escape from life. Cozy and comfortable and well managed beyond compare.

Lake Living At It's Best!

I've rented many properties in the area but this is my new favorite. This newly restored lake house is immaculately clean with everything new and tastefully appointed. The hosts were very communicative throughout the process of renting the home and recommendations on where to go in the area. The pictures do not do justice to the property and the views of the lake from the living and bedroom spaces. We enjoyed paddling in the lake to a sandbar and soaking in the last days of summer. Love the ability the grill and dine outside looking out at the lake as well as having a winery close enough to walk to. Nearby Fenville has a good market for groceries and Salt of the Earth has a great menu and bar. We look forward to renting this property next time we visit Southwest Michigan.

Not great for families

While the owners were very nice and accessible, this place was not what we thought it was going to be. -The grill hardly worked (1 out of 3 burners worked) -We were told it was on a quiet road, extremely busy with cars going over the speed limit - The lake bottom, while really shallow, was muck and not sandy like we were told Great for an adult only trip but would not recommend for families with kids that like yo be active. We had to drive to other beaches or towns to get their energy out. Overall pretty disappointing.

Beautiful relaxing getaway

We had a girls weekend and baby shower and it was wonderful! The host was great on communication and so friendly! We over the location, and spent our days kayaking, paddleboarding, cooking dinners in the modern kitchen and relaxing in big down comforters at night It was a wonderful quiet getaway and we will definitely be going back!

Wonderful home in a perfect location!

Our family of 6 had a wonderful time visiting this beautiful home and the area. Mike and the neighbors were very kind and welcoming. The home had everything that we needed and was so clean. The lake was perfect for fishing, swimming, & kayaking. We loved exploring the area & there was so much to do & see within minutes. We would love to return again in the future!

Great house for our mom/kid weekend! Kitchen was well stocked as we made most meals at home. Kids loved access to the dock and the coffee table fireplace was perfect for quick s'mores. House was clean, updated and enough spaces and beds for everyone!

Wonderful house on great inland lake near Saugatuck/Lake Michigan

My husband and I had a wonderful 5 night stay over Memorial Day weekend. The house was very nicely updated, clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were great - very communicative and friendly as well as all the neighbors on the lake. We especially enjoyed morning walks around the lake, sitting on the front patio and enjoying the beautiful lake view and kayaking around the lake. The Saugatuck / Fennville area has so much to offer - cute towns, great restaurants, breweries/wineries and beautiful Lake Michigan beaches within 15 mins. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Wow!

The fam had such a nice stay on Hutchins Lake! The house is so lovely, one of the best VRBOs we've tried. Great amount of space for our group, easy check in/out, kind owner, amazing sunrise views, house is well stocked. We made the trip to Timber Ridge (about 30 min) and did some skiing. Good kiddie ski school program and not a bad drive. Thank you for such wonderful memories!
