The serene beauty of the lake will help you and your family relax and get away from all the worries.
The house has a fireplace and a spacious living room where you can sit and relax while reading books. We also have Vintage Arcade games for the entire family. Bringing a bicycle is a great idea! Explore the world-famous Muskoka Region.

Family Vacation

Second time staying here with our family group. Location and bedroom count all with their own bathroom and A/C a plus but plumbing fixtures are lacking and cleanliness is an issue. Kitchen supplies for cooking have room for improvement Dock and all the toys that come with it are such a bonus. Not a good place for elderly or handicapped to stay. Host was ok but not as good as last year.

Stay at Lake Sparrow Guest House

Overall the stay was very good, there was enough space for everyone to sleep and more than enough washrooms. Lots to do, from playing volleyball to swimming in the lake.

Great stay

The house was huge, spacious bedrooms, massive kitchen. Had everything you need for a group stay and then some. Really enjoyed the hottub and sauna. Close to town if you need more groceries or anything like that. Had an awesome time, hopefully can get another trip planned to go back another time!

Great cottage on a beautiful lake

Very spacious cottage on beautiful Lake Sparrow. All rooms were well kept, each room had own air conditioning unit and private bathrooms. Plenty of games and water activities to have fun with (volleyball, kayaking, etc). Would stay here again.

Spacious and in a great location

The place is very large so our group of 22 had plenty of space. It was generally clean, but it could benefit from a renovation as both building and furniture are old. It is very close to Toronto, as well as major shopping centers and a casino.

Cottage has firect access to lake. Place big, was clean and very well maintained. Owner Vanjil was very response and always there when we neex yo gind something 😀 Overall good stay. Mahdsh

Great place for large groups

We used the property for our family reunion and loved it! Large main room and kitchen, property needs an update but well maintained and clean. Great communication with owners and property management. The only negatives would be the neighbours who complain about noise and train right next to the property that runs a couple times a night. However, I would highly recommend as we all really enjoyed the location, water sports and the home.

New Years gathering

This cottage is much bigger than what it looks like on pictures. Each family had their own room with a bathroom which is very unique. Communication with the property manager was excellent and always helpful.

Perfect place for a weekend with friends. Cozy while close to nature

Despite the wintery weather we had so much fun staying at this beautiful house. We turned on the fireplace for our indoor time, used the kitchen to create great meals that we served with proper ceramic dishes. We used the resort's snow shows to walk on the snow into the frozen lake, and even watched a movie on the big screen. We played music on the load speakers and danced, and then just relaxed on the big sofas. It was great and we will be back.

Great sized cottage with ability to accommodate large groups

Great location and size for large groups. Right off the lake. There were alot of bees inside the cottage and one of us were stung which made the trip interesting. There is some minor work to be done. Projector was not working, one of the door handle to exterior was broken and more. However overall we had a great time at this location. Vanjil was great and accommodating.

Wonderful cottage but...

Unfortunately, we had concerns with the host Vanjil during my group and I’s stay here. As soon as he asked how old my friends and I were, his tone completely changed... He would constantly remind us that quiet time was after 10pm outside, which we all complied with of course and whenever we would go outside at night, we didn’t play any music, we would be around the fire just talking and there was no yelling or screaming. With that being said, whenever the volume inside got remotely “high” it was still an issue for him, even though you couldn’t hear us outside at all. We made sure of that. He even went as far as filing a complaint with Vrbo in the middle of our stay there. It was one thing after another with him, and it quite honestly put a damper on the weekend to say the least. It’s unfortunate because this cottage is absolutely beautiful, and it was perfect for my sister and I’s birthday. I would have definitely considered going back and bringing my family, and even going as far as recommending it to other people but that isn’t the case here, and I won’t set foot back into that place because of Vanjil’s mistreatment.

family trip 2023

My family and I stayed at this property at the end of January. There was a total of 30 of us. The space was great, however we had many issues with cleanliness and safety. -the main washrooms were extremely dirty and missing soap. -the kitchens garbage had not been taken out. -there were empty juice boxes in the games room. -2 of the rooms had dead bugs on the beds -the fridge had not been cleaned out- we found some fruit left, lots of crumbs and spilt juices -we found socks from previous guests underneath the throw pillows on the sofas. In terms of safety, there was a sign in the kitchen stating the stove fan needed to be turned on before cooking. We looked everywhere and could not find the switch. We called the host who himself was unsure of where it was and told us to just keep the doors open. This was a huge safety concern as it was a very large gas grill with no functioning fan. We were very uncomfortable with this but had no other choice. There were also 3 rooms on the outside that were not accessible from the inside. That was not mentioned when booking and this made things difficult with children and trying to get to those rooms in the snow. The host was responsive but unfortunately didn't have the answers. Once again, the space was great for a large group of people but unfortunately it was not clean and not safe in the kitchen.

Some bed need to be changed, outlets no power

The beds are very old and it is almost impossible to sleep in there, special in room 10. In the kitchen is almost no electrical outlet working. Somehow somewhen the power tripped and was not reseted. Overall it was a nice stay and we will be back next year same time and hopefully we have good beds and electric power in the kitchen. Thank you

Great for large families

The host was very responsive with our matters and accommodating to our large group. Loved that every room had a washroom and the lake activities were a plus (lots of life vests).

Family Reunion

It was a great spot for our family to spend time together and each have privacy as well, with so many bedrooms available. There was lots to do, a beautiful lake view, and a huge kitchen that was great to cook in for a large group. Vanjil was very responsive and helpful throughout the week. Thanks for hosting us.

Had a great time in this cottage

8 families joined this wonderful stay, kids love the gaming room hot tub and boats. All ten rooms are clean and all of them including bathrooms.

Sparrow Lake House

We stayed at this property for five days for a family get to together. The owners were very responsive to all our requests. The cottage is outdated in several ways but each request was quickly resolved. The lake is weedy with a small area for swimming. The kitchen is perfect for large group. This is an ideal location for an two hour drive from Toronto. Thank you to Dory and V.J. For being so pleasant and easy to deal with.
