Amazing Ocean views from our beautiful updated 2nd row vacation home

The Pelican’s Post is a spacious 4-Bedroom, 4-Bath duplex situated on a high lot with beautiful views of the ocean from all levels. Located just across the street from the beach access on a quite cul-de-sac. Just minutes away from Emerald Isle where vacationers can shop, catch a movie, play miniature golf, ride a go cart and more. Within a 5 minute drive to restaurants, bars and ice cream shops. The Bogue Inlet Pier is a short walk down the beach where you can fish, get lunch or watch the waves. Bike rentals, Jet Ski rentals and Kayaks are a 5 minute drive on the sound side of the island.

GROUND LEVEL: Movie/Rec Room-Large Smart TV with sectional and lots of games, puzzles, and cards. There is also a full bathroom.

MIDDLE LEVEL: Master bedroom has a King Bed and on-suite, Bedroom 2 has 2 Twin Beds, Bedroom 3 has a Queen Bed and there is a full bathroom as well. Oceanview deck access from the master bedroom.

TOP LEVEL: Bedroom 4 has a Queen Bed and attached full bathroom, Large open living room with a queen sleeper sofa, kitchen and dining room.

Great family home with great views

We had a great week at Pelican’s Post. Well appointed with comfortable furnishings and plenty of space for a family with four kids. Fantastic views with easy access to the beach. Will come again.

Great Girl's Trip

Three women who have been friends for decades enjoyed our stay at the Pelican's Post. Everything about the stay was excellent. Great accommodations, amenities and location. The host was responsive and helpful. The property was very clean and beautifully decorated. By far, one of the best places (if not the best) we've stayed in Emerald Isle for our annual girl's trips.

Perfect rental for our family!

The house was in the perfect location for beach access and all of the beach town amenities. It was clean and had everything needed for a great vacation. The owners were helpful and responsive. We want to come back next summer again!

Family beach trip

This was a well situated property that was not too far from shopping and restaurants. The house was as advertised and clean. The elevator made move in and move out very easy!

Awesome location

We go to the beach as a family every year for a week and this was the best place we have stayed yet. You cannot beat the view from the deck and the easy walk to the beach (across street from driveway). With 3 kids under 3, this made our life so much easier. Property was clean with plenty of room. Dee was easy to communicate with as well! Highly recommend!

Perfect!

Perfect location! Perfect home lay out! Perfect vacation! Grandparents on top level with kitchen and living room. Parents and four teenagers on mid-level with washer and dryer. Spectacular views from the balcony/decks and loved the convenience of the elevator!

Family fun

The property was very big with room for all. So convenient to the beach. In a very nice neighborhood. Only complaint would be that some of the sheets smelled sour when we tried to make the beds upon arrival. So we had to wash and dry them before going to bed.

Great house in a great location!

Me and friends really enjoyed staying here for a long weekend trip. The house was beautiful with lots of room to spread out, and the kitchen/living room on the top floor had amazing views of the ocean. We even spotted a dolphin while we were having dinner. The elevator was also really handy for moving groceries and luggage upstairs from the carport. Thank you to Dee for being a great host!

Beautiful property in Emerald Isle

Beautiful property in Emerald Isle. Met my family's needs for our vacation. Everything was clean and well organized. Master bdrm & family room, kitchen area had nice view of ocean. Great host with clear instructions. We thoroughly enjoyed the home and our stay. The elevator was great since we had an 85+ yr. old elder that couldn't go up/down stairs. Thanks!

Unpleasant exchange

The house was fine until we left. To begin with the house has many stains on the carpets and furniture and when we arrived there was no toilet paper that we could find, nor paper towels or kitchen garbage bags. That was all fine because we are a family of 6 and a lived in house is what we expected. When we left we left a little messy. We didn’t vacuum and left some dishes in the sink and the rest were washing in the dishwasher. The dishwasher was full when we arrived so we didn’t even think about it. I think we also may have left some food in the fridge. We just assumed that there is an implicit cleaning fee in the cost as clearly after a week a house needs to be cleaned. The owner was not satisfied and harassed us with numerous texts telling him she could not believe how we destroyed her house. No one has ever spoken to us like this and we have stayed in numerous rentals. It is ludicrous to think that that house can be restored to a pristine condition given the shape it is in and the lack of supplies provided. All we wanted was to have nice vacation. We had a great vacation but the harassment afterward was not worth it and we will not stay there again. The view is very nice though! Mike.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. We would like to address some of the issues you noted in your review. In regards to the stains on the carpet and furniture, before you arrived, we personally inspected the house and there were NO stains on any of the furniture; however, there are a few stains on the stairs of which we apologize. We do have plans to replace this carpet soon. In the welcome email you received and which is posted at the house, it clearly states that we provide a starter roll of toilet paper and paper towels. After speaking with my cleaning crew, they informed me that they not only left one roll on the kitchen counter but in fact left an additional roll in the bottom bathroom. We expect families to enjoy their vacations without having to clean up; however, we also expect our things to be treated with care. Turned over trash can, rugs moved and flipped over, food all over the floor and chairs, food left in the refrigerator and furniture rearranged was more than just enjoying your vacation. As stated in our departure check list posted on the refrigerator and emailed to you, we ask that you leave our house as you found it, when you arrived.

Great Location, easy walk to the beach!

We had a great time staying in Emerald Isle! Host was accommodating to our needs and easy to work with. Getting to and from the beach was super easy with the wooded boardwalk, and we loved watching the super moon from the top deck.

Relaxing Retreat

We had an amazing week! This property is in an amazing location, the views were stunning and it has easy access to the beach right across the street. The house itself is beautifully decorated and appointed, so comfortable to share family time in when we needed a break from the sun. We were so lucky to find this house and hope to return. Thank you for sharing your beach house with us our family made a lot of special memories there.

Amazing views and convenience

We have always admired this house from the oceanfront rentals we’ve had and wow, this house did not disappoint! Beautifully decorated, perfect bedroom setups and a bonus room for the kids to play with a separate bathroom was beyond amazing. My husband usually cooks one night during the week for his large family staying in rentals across the street and there was plenty of seating for everyone and he cooked all day long. The rental had all the dishes and pans he needed for a seafood and dessert feast! I loved the soaking tub with an ocean view for quiet time after a long day at the beach. We have been staying on this culdesac street for 15 years and the traffic is minimal, perfect for our young children. We rinsed off after the beach before heading into the house and there were extra blankets and pillows as needed. Checkin and communication with the owner was great and easy. We’ve already asked to stay again next year and if we aren't able to go, other family members are raising their hands second. Oh, did I mention the elevator was greatly appreciated by our visiting elderly family members for dinner. Also helped for loading and unloading our bags!

Lovely home and location!

Our family of 7 plus one grandchild really enjoyed this home. It had plenty of space for all of us and location was an easy walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again and the owners were very easy to communicate with.

Great time

My family had a great time at the property. The elevator was a great bonus, as I was almost 9 months pregnant and another guest had a knee replacement. Being right across from the boardwalk to the beach was also wonderful - never had too far to walk! I don’t think the listing mentioned it, but it also has a very nice outdoor shower as well. Everyone seemed to be very comfortable in their rooms/beds. I really appreciated that the bedrooms had real blinds on the windows (some places I’ve stayed only have had thin curtains). Overall a very lovely home to spend a week at!
