Charming Historic Cottage One Block to Forsyth by Lucky Savannah

Nestled in the heart of Savannah's beautiful Historic District, this two-level cottage style home is the perfect getaway for up to four guests. Guests enter independently through the lane, where they will find private access to their abode.

Use your secure, keyless entry code to access the carriage house, entering into the charming living space with original exposed brick, hand-laid tile floors, and large windows that flood the space with natural light. Two additional guests can transform the living space into a bedroom with a Queen sofa sleeper. Off the living room you'll find the bright and sunny kitchen, fully-equipped with every cooking essential, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops! Additionally on the first floor, you'll find a powder room tucked away off of the living room.

Upstairs, the both bedrooms are equipped with comfortable beds, one Queen and one King, plus a generous amount of storage space - ideal for extended stays. The full bath with tub/shower combo and double vanity is off of the hall, making it convenient for all! Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the large courtyard separating the carriage from the main house. A washer and dryer are also available adjacent to the main home.

Nearby attractions include The Sorrel-Weed House, Green-Meldrim House, Mercer Williams House Museum, and the Fountain at Forsyth Park. Head North just a short walk towards the National Landmark Historic District center, with Broughton Street being the go-to for shopping and dining. Both City Market and River Street are a 15-minute walk from this home.

What is parking like for this home?
Parking for this home is on-street and metered, which is enforced by the City of Savannah from Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Guests may conveniently pay using the ParkSavannah app, feed the meter or parking kiosks directly, or park on a nearby non-metered street. Please take note of posted Sweep Zone signs when parking on the street.

The location was just what we needed. The house was cozy. There were plenty of towels. The house was nice and clean. While we were there it was really cold and the heat didnā€™t seem to reach downstairs (brrr) but the temperature upstairs was very comfortable. I recommend bringing your own pillow if possibleā€¦ there were 4 of us and we all agreed that the pillows were not comfortable at all. Weā€™d return for sure - when itā€™s warmer.

This place is amazing. Great location. Perfect size for our group of three adults. All of the expected amenities. The only criticism i have is that the listing connotes the property has parking. It does not. Now the staff was great in informing me of the options but you have to either feed a meter, park in a city garage several blocks away, or get a parking pass from the city for cheaper (than feeding a meter) on street option. We did the later, went to the bryan street garage and got a multi day parking pass but it was an extra expense and it just feels like if the listing is going to tout parking as available, it should come with a parking pass in the property one can put in their car. Or be more overt and deliberate about the parking options. Parking in Savannah is a challenge and part of the reason we chose this unit is because it touted parking as available. Just a small knit in an otherwise amazing stay. Cannot say this enough: the location of this property is absolutely amazing. Whitaker street is busy but a short walk west and the streets and squares are quiet and peaceful but yet one can still walk to Broughton, Bay or River very easily or down to Forsyth and the Victorian District with no problem. It is a wonderful spot in an exceptional location.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very good. Would recommend. Only thing it is lacking is a private parking spot. You have to park on the street which from 8-5 is metered and limited to 2 hours. Not a big deal, but would be great to know up front.

First, be aware that parking is a bit of an issue. There is paid street parking nearby and free street parking a little ways away. Not a huge deal but just be aware. Other than that, it was great. Very convenient to anything we wanted to see or do. We easily accessed the shuttle when we didn't want to walk. It was clean and comfortable.

Home wasn't quite as described

I should have read the property description better but this rental is essentially in an alley. If you arrive after dark the alleyway can be very intimidating as it's filled with trash cans, dumpsters, bags of garbage and is poorly lit. There is NO parking with this unit so be prepared to walk quite a ways to find a spot for your vehicle. Also, the washer & dryer are NOT in the rental, but are in a dark, poorly lit out building shared by countless other renters. The unit is also advertised as 2 baths, but really it's just 1 full bath and a toilet on the main floor. Even though the unit isn't on a Main Street, and there's no vehicles driving in front of the rental, you can hear the road noise very clearly from the bedrooms. If you're a light sleeper you will want to bring ear plugs or run a fan all night as the noise from other streets is very clear in the bedroom. The unit was clean, the master bedroom was spacious, and the kitchen well organized.

It was perfect place for us! Location was great! So many shops, pretty close to the Hive and Turner House. Very quiet and pretty neighborhood. We enjoyed it very much and would definitely stay here again when we come to visit our daughter! Too bad it rained most of the time.

Original house had mold and was not livable. Took two days before they moved us, and then would not give us a refund (even a partial refund) for any of the nights, because they said they moved us to an "upgrade". Terrible customer service.

The apartment was so nice! Usually, my husband plans all of our trips so I spent a lot of time trying to pick out the perfect place to stay and we all loved it!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at 103W Charlton Street. Apt was clean and cozy and walk-able to restaurants and activities. The neighbourhood is quiet with no loud noises at night. We took advantage of the outdoor space and had breakfast outside twice.....we had to eat before 10am as the sun hits the table by 10am and it was not so comfortable after that. (If Lucky Savannah is reading this, maybe consider providing an outdoor umbrella so the outdoor space can be enjoyed throughout the day). We also used the laundry a few times while we were there and it was very convenient. Great stay. I would recommend.

Worst rental experience we have ever had

My poor rating of this property is due to the physical reaction I experienced while staying at the property in February. My reaction to the odor/smell in the property included headaches and sinus-chest congestion. We paid for and planned to stay for the entire month of February 2024 but my physical reaction was so concerning we felt we needed to leave and ended our stay two weeks ahead of our scheduled departure date. We departed early rather than remain in the property. No refund or alternative property were provided by the management company. Both were requested. All of this was reported to the property management company (Lucky Savannah) throughout our stay, starting the day we checked in.
