"July 2009 - Pura Vida was our home this week for our annual CFC Lake Bash. Beautiful house-breathtaking view and challenging steps to the beach-but so worth it, as the beach is beautiful, private, and met all of our expectations. Thank you for a wonderful week." This was the exact message the reviewer's party left in our notebook at Pura Vida. We do provide unlimited local and long distance phone calls to compensate for the very limited cell phone coverage at Pura Vida. The steps are mentioned in our advertisement as you can see for yourselves. They are very friendly to people of many age groups. Kids, adventure seekers, 55 and older, etc. We feel the beach is untouched by many other beaches due to the amazing privacy we have at this time. Thank you for choosing Pura Vida, and I hope you can make it back in the future! Thank you for your kind comments about Pura Vida. I apologize about the cleaning. I really wish this was brought to my attention during your stay so I could have corrected it for you. We have a new cleaning company this year which is really tough after having the same one for 10 years in a row and the learning curve is huge! Buttersville Beach is 2.4 miles north on Lakeshore Drive...a very beautiful beach indeed. The extremely high water levels on Lake MI unfortunately are taking away many personal beaches this summer. Thankfully, the water level is predicted to start falling. I am sorry about the construction next door. Pura Vida definitely can not control this and is not privy to the building crews' schedules. Paula, We are so sorry you did not have the same experience that our guests have had for more than 10 years. If we would have known there were concerns, we could have started addressing them immediately even during your complimentary early check-in. We wish your experience was like our group of guests consisting of a wide range of ages that checked out 4 days before your group of young adults as they had the 5 -star experience we want everyone to have. Pura Vida has been enjoyed by so many mature and young families over the years it makes us sad you didn't come away with complete satisfaction We really take your concerns to heart and have already worked on every issue we are aware of. The internet provider has been to the house and replaced the modem and verified we are receiving the maximum signal available in the area. We have not had issues since the new modem, and we will continue to purchase the best coverage available in this private setting. The phone land line is provided because cell phone coverage is spotty on all providers but that is due to geography beyond our control. If one turns on WIFI calling, cell phones work much better. The Dacor range has been serviced and new control panel installed. Replacement blinds have been ordered and current blinds repaired as much as possible including the one damaged during your stay. We know things happen and understand things can break with use and we repair things as quickly as possible. Most importantly, we really wish you would have told us the new cleaners had missed things. This is not acceptable. Our cleaner of 10 years retired and we are working hard to help make the new crew understand our high expectations. Please if ever you stay somewhere and you have concerns reach out right away and let the management know so they can address anything as I wish we could have if we were made aware. Crystal makes sure guests are given management contact information before and during guests' stay to enhance each of our valued guests' time at Pura Vida in case an issue does arise. Pura Vida does have about 300 stairs as mentioned in the ad. The incredible view both at the top and bottom are only possible because of the topography. The incredible privacy on the beach is only possible also because of mother nature. We feel blessed that our private stairs have survived as almost all others stairs or trams nearby have not weathered mother nature. It is easier to walk a long way on a flat path but then you just can't have the beauty and the serenity of Pura Vida. Thank you and be well.
