Family friendly, conveniently located; minutes from Blowing Rock and Boone.

Welcome to our mountain oasis! Our cabin has all of the rustic charm and privacy you want for your getaway, but is close to all of the amenities you could dream of! We are conveniently located between Blowing Rock and Boone, NC. We are minutes to Tweetsie Railroad, the Blueridge Parkway and Appalachian Ski Mountain. We are a short drive to Sugar Mountain, the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster and Hawks Nest. Appalachian State University is just down the road, and there are plenty of world class restaurants nearby as well! The cabin has a king master suite on the second level. There are two bedrooms on the main level with the kitchen, living room, laundry and full bath. One is a queen room and the other has a full and twin. The basement has a kitchenette, extra living space, a full bathroom, a bunk room (two full bunk beds plus trundles), and an additional bedroom space with a queen bed with twin bed loft above. We are perfect for 1 larger or 2 small families, as well as a small group of responsible adults.

FWD is recommended in winter months. (Dec-March)

Please note: there is a ring doorbell that records movement by the front door. We turn off notifications while guests are using the house, but expect it to remain active for security purposes.

Great place for family to stay.

Nice cabin in the mountains. Kitchen had everything we needed, rooms were clean, and plenty of space for family to visit.

Great weekend getaway

We had a very relaxing getaway… the house was terrific and everything was easy. The location was close to Blowing Rock. Will definitely be back.

This is a nice property. There are some things our group liked and some things might need work. We enjoyed the open living room common area. It was a great place for us to gather. We enjoyed the fire pit. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Also, there are ample beds to accommodate everyone. There were 3 things that our group thought might use more attention. The first is that they don’t have a trash service and they expect guests to haul out all of their trash. We had never heard of such a thing and hauling trash around in our cars, looking for disposal sites was not so great. The second thing was that they don’t stock any soap or shampoo in the showers so if we’re traveling and arrive in the afternoon and want to take a shower, we have to go back out to a store to buy shower supplies. Again, something we’ve never encountered in a rental. The last thing that everyone mentioned having some trouble with was the Wi-Fi. It was slow and spotty and sometimes we were unable to even get on the Wi-Fi. We tried restarting the router several times and it didn’t seem to help.

To our future guests, our sincere hope is your experience would be much like the xx 5 star reviews we have received from all our other guests and not like this guest. We do everything in our power to insure our guests experience a warm, comfortable retreat with easy access to Boone and Blowing Rock. We understand things come up that are outside of our control. We try to address these things too and feel we did in this case. We were told the TV was freezing up. I watched my wife step out of our son’s playoff baseball game to brainstorm switching out TV’s and to call in a solid with our cleaning guy to settle this guest’s issue with the trash. We don’t feel the harshness of this review reflects the efforts we made to accommodate this guest’s wishes. Also to our future guests, we are clear in the VRBO listing, the check in pdf and the house rules printed on the kitchen counter that weekly trash removal in the NC mountains is tough with short term rentals due to bears and raccoons. We have a list of the recycling centers and their hours of operation. We certainly don’t want anyone driving around looking for dumpsters and potentially illegally dumping trash not in a designated landfill. If you’re looking for a place to get away, that sleeps a lot of people and feels a world away from anywhere; yet, minutes to Boone and Blowing Rock, our cabin is perfect for you!

We had a wonderful stay! The house was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The wooded setting was beautiful, peaceful and perfect for relaxing. Plus it’s a short drive to Boone and downtown Blowing Rock. Making wonderful memories our neighbors, adult children annd their friends. The icing on the cake was an App State football win against Oregon state. go Neers! Courtney was a wonderful with responding to our questions in a timely manner!

Best little gem in the mountains

What a wonderful little gem of a house. Great location, great house and a great property manager. She made the whole trip stress free. The house held 7 adults without any issues. It could have held more if you like. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great week/weekend trip

Great Location!

Had a great long weekend! The house is spacious and was very clean! Really convenient location, easy to get to downtown Boone and Blowing Rock. Only bummer was having to take the trash at the end of the weekend to the landfill, it was a holiday weekend so it was closed. Obviously not the owners fault but just something to consider in the future if renting on a holiday.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay! I’m sorry about the inconvenience of the trash. As owners, we deal with the same frustration and try to make trips more frequently to avoid all the trash on the one day. I will look at our information packet and perhaps detail that information better. It’s an inconvenience for sharing space with bears in the mountains!

Family - first ski trip

We loved Courtney’s cabin! So cozy, a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities. The L shaped sectional was very comfortable with extra throws to wrap up in. Everyone agreed the beds were great. It is a newer construction so the kitchen and bathrooms were perfect. Our grandchildren enjoyed foosball and the arcade game on the lower level. Loved the location close to Appalachian Ski Mountain. The minor inconvenience of no garbage pick up was a small price to pay for the beautiful setting in the mountains with woods all around

Family reunion 2021

Very good location. You will be in the middle of nature but still just two miles away from stores, restaurants and other attractions. House is clean and appliances are new with well stocked kitchen. Linens, toiletries and bedding were in full supply. Beds and pillows were comfortable even for the twin bed inside trundle and I sleep in memory foam at home. Three floors with three TVs, adults, teens and little kids got their own entertainment. Swings and dining table outside were best for eating breakfast while listening to birds chirping.

Beautiful property tucked away in the mountains

We had 4 kids and 6 adults staying and came up for an App St football game. We had stayed in the area multiple times and kind of knew what to expect. The house was close to town, which was great! We walked in at night and we’re very pleasantly surprised how clean and pretty the home was. There was even an arcade game downstairs for the kids. When we woke up in the morning we had coffee with a few of the local deer and the kids went exploring in the woods. We were less than 10 minutes from downtown Boone but the views and the home made it feel like we were hours away from anything. Such a wonderful experience and can’t wait to come back again. Only downside, have to take trash away as there is no trash service. Had a ride into town with a number of trash bags in our vehicle. Luckily it was only a weekends worth so they didn’t stink too bad yet. Host was very responsive and very friendly. Thank you for your help! They have a wonderful set up, great fire pit and really fun stuff for kids to do at the house.

Beautiful wooded retreat

Enjoyed our girls hiking weekend at this beautiful, comfortable property! Kitchen was stocked with all our needs - pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. close to town and restaurants but secluded and private. Would definitely stay again!

Cabin Rental 385 Fox Den Rd

Beautiful cabin with easy access to all attractions, restaurants and shops in Blowing Rock, Boone and other locations. The cabin provided plenty of room for our family of 7. Everything was provided that we needed for our comfort. We would definitely recommend this cabin to family and friends planning a trip to the Blowing Rock and Boone.

Perfect for families

The house is beautiful. The location is great- close to Boone and Blowing Rock, but feels like you are in a secret mountain spot. The house has everything you need for a great vacation with a big group. The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you need. The additional refrigerator and counter space downstairs made cooking for a crowd easier. Having linens provided was a big plus. The host was great at communicating. I highly recommend this house.

Amazing Cabin in Great Location

We go to the mountains multiple times a year. We have stayed in many cabins and condos in the surrounding area. Our family usually stays at Chetola resort, but we had a larger group with not only our family of 4, but our good friends who are a family of 5. This is a great house for large groups, plenty of space, beds, and love how it has two separate kitchens. Also, great for young children. We had a blizzard while we were there and every consideration was made from the owners. They are so nice and helpful. Our driveway was plowed the morning after the snow, and they offered an extra night if we felt it was unsafe to get out, which wasn’t necessary, but very sweet. The cabin itself is in the middle of Boone and Blowing Rock. We snowboarded at multiple locations, and the kids had a great time playing in the snow. Great cabin!

Wonderful Stay

This cabin is very clean and well appointed. Very peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to shopping and restaurants. Very spacious for family gatherings. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

We love adventure and relaxation and the mountains are the perfect place for both! This neighborhood is close to everything! The proximity to restaurants and shopping cannot be beat. However, you feel secluded and have a lot of privacy at the cabin. It feels like the best of both worlds!!
