New modern 1 Bedroom Suites in Iona, NS

We just finished construction on these contemporary 1 bedroom, 1 bath suites, 2021 is our first season. Each unit has a full kitchen with a dining bar, and a large 200 sq. ft. deck, offering spectacular views of the Bras d'Or Lake. Large sliding glass doors and oversized windows make these cozy suites bright and airy. Many of the furnishings were custom built in our woodshop. We are only a short walk to the popular Frolic and Folk Pub & Restaurant for great dining and live entertainment. Across from the Pub, visit the Highland Village, a Gaelic living history museum and cultural center. Sun and swim on one of the many beaches within a few minutes of Hector's Point. Centrally located on Cape Breton Island, there are many attractions close enough for a day trips, including Baddeck, The Fort of Louisburg, Eskasoni & Whycocogamah cultural Centers, Bird Island Boat Tours, & Sydney.

Such a beautiful and amazing place. Janet and her husband have provided a simple and perfect place to stay. Everything we needed was there. The Bald Eagles in the back yard were constantly perched and swooping through the backyard.LOVED IT!

Ahhhh Peace at Last

The property was very peaceful and scenic! Bald Eagles gave us a show. The cabin was well appointed and very well thought out. The only things you will require is food and beverages We are birders and there was plenty to see. The host is very easy to work with and communicates well.

Wish we could have stayed longer

This cabin was very very clean and the view of the lake was magnificent. The area is quiet and peaceful. We immediately spotted eagles and our host had frozen containers of fish, so guests could feed them! Check in was a breeze, and a very thorough information sheet was also provided and very helpful. We briefly met our host, Janet. She was so nice. This property is exceptional!

Breath taking views

A well kept property with all you need for a comfortable stay. The views of the Bras d’Or lakes from your deck were amazing. Iona is a quaint community connected by a scenic drive to other full service communities.

Cape Breton Paradise

We loved every minute of our week long stay at Hectors Point in Iona, Cape Breton. The cabin was immaculate, cosy, fully equipped with a deliciously comfortable bed and a spectacular view that comes complete with resident bald eagles who visit every day. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful

Great property, amazing view of Lake Bras d’Or, bald eagles in trees, and close to Cabet Trail. Owner was available if we needed her and very nice. Cabin was clean, well organized and had everything we needed. Not many restaurants nearby so bring groceries. We will definitely be back!

The perfect perch with a stunning view!

I can’t recommend Janet cabins enough! The perfect location if you’re heading up to the Cabot Trail for hiking. Very comfortable accommodations with all the modern amenities, and Janet and her husband are wonderfully welcoming. The view out our back window, and off our back deck was insanely beautiful. Not to mention the wildlife we saw! Again, highly recommended.

Fantastic!

Beautiful! The view is absolutely fabulous. The cottage is beautifully built with really nice touches, including a hummingbird feeder (visited frequently by the tiny birds). It was a very comfortable home base from which to explore Cape Breton. Janet is an excellent hostess. Highly recommend staying here.

Cape Breton trip. Four nights.

the property and accommodations are very nice. great view of the lake. nearby pub has excellent food, is friendly, and has music on weekend nights. property is centrally located in CBI for going to tourist points. managers are helpful and responsive if needed. if your are going to different places in CBI this is a great place, but beware of fog coming back as the near lake area can get foggy. Roads around CBI are twisty and can be uneven and this needs to be factored into travel time. keep a 1/4 tank of gas to allow travel. overall, we would definitely stay again.

Our “home” for our Cape Breton Golf vacation

The cottage was perfect for the two of us. The view outstanding! Take the path down to the shoreline and walk the abandoned railway tracks….you won’t be sorry. We had not been to the Cape before. I had thought Iona was a good central location to Golf courses….that was my mistake. Lots of driving to get “around the lakes” to get anywhere. Also thought Iona was more of a town. It’s beautiful but very small. No groceries. The one bar/restaurant was very quaint and the food good. Live entertainment was great.

Fabulous experience and beautiful location!

The cottage was incredibly clean and exactly as pictured. It has so many modern conveniences - air conditioning/heat pump unit, WiFi, streaming TV - and a gorgeous setting overlooking Bras d’Or Lake from its spacious deck and huge windows. We grilled a few dinners and enjoyed self-made breakfasts before driving off to various sites along the Cabot Trail and nearby. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the gas grill was pristine. Janet was quick to answer questions via text, and check-in and check-out were simple. The nearby Gaelic Inn has a pub and also a small NSLC (beer, wine, liquor, snacks) for quick fill-ups. Most towns have a Foodmart or Co-op for basic groceries, if you haven’t stocked up at Sobey’s or Atlantic Superstore in North Sydney or Port Hawkesbury. We looked forward to dinners and sunsets here every evening, and watching (feeding!) the bald eagles most mornings. Definitely recommend staying here!

Beautiful & Relaxing!

We thoroughly enjoyed our cabin stay....it was bright, clean, and quiet with so many thoughtful amenities...it had absolutely everything we needed. The views of the lake were breathtaking and the generous sized deck was perfect for relaxing in the Adirondack chairs, cooking on the grill, or enjoying a meal at the patio table! We would definitely come again and extend our stay.

Absolute Bliss

This property is unbelievable. From the moment you pull up you are immediately staring out at the beautiful Bras D’Or lake. Once you walk into the property, you can tell the owner has thought of everything. Everything is clean and in top condition. Rob & I were looking for a final building project for our retirement. We bought this property in 2018 for the amazing views and for our affection of the quaint village of Iona. We were told that it used to be a look out for Hwy 223 but became overgrown. After clearing the land, we decided we wanted to share this beautiful spot and decided to build vacation suites. We just finished 2 units in December of 2020 and still have 2 more to complete (almost done). We live in the North-Central Gulf Coast during the winter, sail aboard our Shannon 38 when we can, and reside at Hector's Point from June to November.
