A true northwoods gem
What a great cabin on Oxbow Lake. The location was wonderful, with sunsets from the dock, privacy from neighbors and a full recreation lake. The log home was solid and secure and mechanically sound. There were a couple screen doors in need of repair, but no issues using alternate entries. The beds were average. Very clean and great linens, no sagging, but I have a high bar and don't prefer spring mattresses. Showers were great and both bathrooms were large. Kitchen and baths were fully stocked (and the cupboards and drawers were even clean and organized). Plenty of dock space and it has electricity ran to the dock. The grounds could use some TLC. We ran into ground bee nests and were stung multiple times and weeds are overgrowing around the steps down to the dock. If the owners would leave a few landscaping tools, guests can help care for the property. The lake was very nice, but be mindful of the no wake policy at 200ft from shore. If you bring a boat, note that the turn-around space at the property is fairly small. We had to back the boat out about 3/4 mile because we could not turn around our tandem fishing boat trailer. Overall, we would absolutely stay here again.
