Don't do it

The proximity to town is appealing, and the apartment is across the street from the water. However, it is on the main street, so you hear trucks and motorbikes all night. The lighting in the hallways, on the staircases, and in the kitchen area was terrible. We had only three minutes of hot water in the shower on the first night and none on the second night. No soap of any kind was provided in the bathroom. The sheets did not fit the bed and were made of polyester. The air conditioner did work well.

Noisy, don't do it!

Right on the street, can hear every passing vehicle, pedestrian & security guard conversation. Light pollution floods in from parking area, while hallways are dim. Construction quality is poor, amenities are few. Kitchenette (located in the entry hallway) cabinetry appears to be painted plywood and very little available light makes it hard to see anything when combined with the dark paint on the cabinet. Seating is sparse and uncomfortable; everything in the place is low quality, bare bones, at best. This is a hotel room, and a 2-star one at that. Only redeeming qualities are the pool / roof area, wifi (after getting the correct password), and relatively clean. There are way too many really nice places on the island for same or less money, don't do it. I didn't heed a previous review, don't fall into the same trap. Lastly, the location on the map on VRBO is inaccurate. Baru Cozumel is located just north of The Blue Angel on the east side of the road, NOT north of the airport.

This unit is in the south not north.

The room was as it was listed. There were only a few minor criticisms I would have: No television, no toaster, many lightbulbs out, uncommfortable bed with only decorative pillows. We had to purchase pillows and washclothes. We had two bath towels, two hand towels and one washcloth with no instructions as to how or if we could exchange. These obviously were not deal breakers. However, The room was listed as in the north hotel zone and it was definitely not north but south. Also, the directions were incorrect and it took us an hour to find it. When we called the phone number listed, it was the wrong number. Apparently the person we called gets these calls all the time and was able to give us a correct number. It is a cute apartment on a busy street with lots of road noise and overheard conversations of workers repairing other units. We were prepared for noise and the condition of the room but we were not prepared to be south instead of north. Communication was not prompt. We left three days into our reservation. I would recommend this unit for someone who’s looking for a clean safe low priced unit on the south side of the island.

Noisy place close to the beach

Hi there, the support from the host and the service was great but a bit negative point is the location next to the busiest road of the island including a bumper just in front of the house. Our room and the balcony way in direction to the road (less than 5 meters) in the 1st floor and thus the noises coming from the traffic is very very annoining and should have been mentioned in the listing. For someone being there for holidays who might want to stay the entire day at the apartment it will be a problem in my opinion. Pool on top of the building was very nice and generally you will be by your own since rarely someone from the complex is using it. Hope I could provide some insights Best Steffen
