Oceanfront Beach House on Highly Sought After Ocean Ridge

509 Ocean Ridge is the perfect place to spend your vacation time in
Atlantic Beach. The house is situated right on the beach overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Our cottage is well-suited for a large family to enjoy time together with ample room for everyone.

A large dining table sits next to the fully furnished kitchen. The spacious living room provides a comfortable place to relax. Downstairs, under the street-side deck, is the outdoor gas grill. A deck with picnic table is on the front of the house where you and your family can have a relaxing outdoor meal or just relax

On the large oceanfront deck, you can enjoy sitting (or swinging) in the shade, or lounging in the sun. Just a few steps off the deck and you will feel the sand between your toes! In addition there is an enclosed sun porch next to the open deck with a small table that can be used for dining, games, or writing your next novel.

We suggest that you plan your day so that you can catch the phenomenal sunrises and sunsets . Make sure you have your camera ready!

Our home is a short distance from the Coral Bay Shopping Center, as well as numerous fine dining restaurants and coffee houses, Local shops are scattered throughout the area. Fort Macon State Park, the North Carolina Aquarium, and several other museums are located in nearby Morehead City and Beaufort. Atlantic Beach Town Park is nearby and features mini golf, a skate park, and a splash pad. For the fishermen, opportunities abound, including charter boats and surf fishing.

This is a terrific home for a group. It was very clean, comfortable, and the hosts were very communicative and accommodating. Great porch for sitting and taking in the ocean views and peacefulness! We would definitely stay here again.

We just finished at 4 night stay at this property. We had 7 adults and 4 children with plenty of room. We enjoyed being able to walk on and off of the beach which only had a few people on it because itā€™s only open to the few houses right there on the beach. We also enjoyed the outdoor showers for when you come off the beach. We utilized the front and back porches which all had plenty of tables and seating. We had a great stay and would love to visit again.

We had a wonderful stay at the house! The location is fantastic, and the layout is idealā€”honestly, I could totally see pie family living here! One small suggestion I have would be to include a note in the listing about the need to bring your own linens (whether by renting them or bringing your own). It would help make the experience even more seamless for future guests. Thank you!!

Remember your sheets

The place was in a good location. The house was nice, just a little dated (we had an interior designer staying in the house). We were surprised that the linens were not included. Our experience at other places the linens were included. Plenty of room, and even extra rooms we did not even use. Overall a good experience.

Family Meet Up

Our stay was great and relaxing. There were 8 adults and 4 kids in our party and we were very comfortable. Lots of out door covered space to gather, eat and hang out. Walking access to the beach made life easy if you needed to get something from the house. We prepared all meals at the house, due to short stay, with no issue. Communication with the owner/manager was promoted and friendly, and much appreciated.

Wonderful week at the beach

The house was perfect for our family (6 adults and 3 teens). There was ample bedrooms and space for everyone to spread out. We especially loved being beach front and all the outdoor space. We ate dinner on the deck facing the street and then retired to the ocean front deck each night to enjoy the breeze and ocean sounds. We would absolutely rent this house again!

Post Thanksgiving Relaxation

My husband and I needed some relaxation after Thanksgiving, and this Atlantic Beach did not let us down. We enjoyed the beautiful ocean views and colorful sunsets. We felt as if we were staying in someoneā€™s family home place.

Even Better than Advertised!

Check in was easy. Property managers responded to questions quickly. House was so absolutely immaculate, gorgeous, spacious, and comfortable, it far exceeded our expectations, even though the VRBO posting made it look amazing enough!! Access to the beach was such a short and easy walk. Nice amenities everywhere on the property. Itā€™s clear the house and property are well maintained. We will definitely be returning!

Great location with direct access to beach

The property was very clean and everything onsite was as promised in the listing. The back porch is huge and while we were a family of four this house would comfortably fit multiple families.

Awesome property on the beach!

Five girlfriends take a beach trip every year and this will be a house we will come back to. The owners were so helpful, the house was roomy and you can tell they visit often because the house had everything we needed and more. The views were amazing and there were two GREAT porches with lots of seating. There was a mixup about the linens and we didn't bring ours. One of the owners came out after her day of work to let us into the personal linens so we didn't have to try and get them somewhere else. She stayed to visit for about 30 minutes and we told her that we could have fit her right into our group. :)

We could not have been more pleased with our recent stay! The cottage reminded us of bygone glorious summer vacations at Atlantic Beach. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to come together as a family to celebrate the life of my remarkable mother, whose memorial service was held in Morehead City over the weekend.

Wonderful Oceanfront Vacation Experience

The Ocean Ridge neighborhood is one of the nicest in the Atlantic Beach area. The beach house is spacious and very well maintained. We have enjoyed the area for over 50 years. 20 years of that time, family members owned a beachfront home. The remaining years we have rented. For us, some homes have the right feel to them and this property is definitely one of them. The hard pine flooring and paneling in some of the rooms, the large ocean front windows, a spacious eating area and kitchen, multiple seating areas for relaxing, the modern bathrooms, large bedrooms, beautiful sand dunes and much more. And any questions or needs we had were attended to quickly and professionally. This property facilitated a wonderful relaxing time for our family. We highly recommend it.

Family enjoyment!

My family and I enjoyed the home. They had plenty of kitchen utensils that most other places donā€™t offer. Although the propane tank was empty and I planned on grilling out. Great property and I will definitely recommend this property for big families. The three patios were amazing!

Holiday Weekekend family gathering

We had a wonderful time over the Labor Day weekend staying at this beach house. Beautiful neighborhood, plenty of parking, great location, warm water and lots of beach toys and chairs. We had a great time and there was plenty of room for everyone to hang out and not feel crowded. Large fridge and nice appliances, plenty of dished for big family dinners. We used the grill twice and it worked fine. A few notes to be aware of: While at the beach on days when there wasn't much wind, the sand fleas ate us up. Use bug spray if you plan to be on the beach each day just in case. This was the first time we rented a place that didn't include linens, so we were not prepared and needed to buy towels and sheets the day we arrived. Had we realized that was even a possibility we could of brought items with us. We would stay here again!

Our beach home is owned by three sisters whose parents, Calvin and Jean Wellons, bought this cottage in 1987 so they could have a place for the whole family to gather and enjoy spending time together. Although Calvin and Jean have both passed away, their children and grandchildren are still making memories here that will last for generations to come.
The Wellons Family has opened their home for others to enjoy and make their own special memories while enjoying the amazing oceanfront at Atlantic Beach. Many of our guests return year after year for their family getaways. It is our goal to provide a family-oriented and relaxing home for you to enjoy all that Atlantic Beach has to offer.

This home has been beautifully maintained and is a great place for a large family to be accommodated. There are numerous gathering spaces available for people of all ages to enjoy. There is a large dining room table next to the large kitchen for preparing and enjoying family dinners. There is also a large gas grill for cooking outside. If you prefer to dine outside, there is an upper deck on the front of the house adjacent to the kitchen with picnic tables. On the oceanfront, there is an enclosed sun porch and a large open deck. Inside there is a large family room in the center. It is a very comfortable home to enjoy your vacation!

This home offers many unique benefits beginning with its prime location. Inside the home allows plenty of space for groups to gather. There is one sun porch room that overlooks the beach, along with decks on both sides of the house. There is a bedroom that has an attached nursery for new parents. Along with a unique space downstairs that allows the kids room to play and watch movies without intruding on the adults. It is within walking distance of the Coral Bay Club and the Atlantic Beach Circle, and just a short distance to both the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and Fort Macon State Park. There are a number of unique restaurants, cafes, and coffee houses sure to suit anyone's tastes that are very near the house and some within walking distance!
