Mac's Hideaway a log cabin home is the perfect cozy abode for a romantic and charming getaway or a family and friends holiday! This cozy home sits directly on the banks of the soothing San Juan River with almost 2 acres at the end of the Cul de Sac, and the San Juan National Forest across the river, so quiet and private. Our home located in the San Juan River Village has the perfect Pagosa location on the west side of Pagosa which is less populated and feels more like the real Colorado. The drive to town and the Hot Springs is only 6 miles or 10 minutes. Wolf Creek Ski Resort is just 16 miles or 20 minutes away and this is the most gorgeous and breathtaking drive in Pagosa! We are the nearest community to Wolf Creek Ski Resort and the only community on the river.

WOLF CREEK is known for having the "Most Snow in Colorado, Year after Year!" and the staff is great there as well as the skiing/snowboarding.
I must admit WC has the best Green Chili Burgers too, along with incredible powder and skiing all at very reasonable costs for both skiing and food.

View the SJ river from your beautiful private deck and log home, while listening to the calming and rapid sounds, as the river rushes by you. Relax in the bubbling Jacuzzi for 6, read a book while swaying in the hammock, fly fish, tube and kayak right in your own backyard.

Down the road in our neighborhood there is also a private stocked trout pond called Rainbow Pond for the young at heart to paddle boat, fish, kayak, float in a tube and paddle board. Fishing for Trout there is fun for kids! So walk down the road with your kids, their poles and experience old times like "Andy of Mayberry!"

Regardless of what you do, you will discover the peace of nature at MAC'S HIDEAWAY which is surrounded by 3 million acres of the San Juan National Forest.

We provide high speed wireless Internet, and Direct TV. There is Sony flat screen TV/ CD player/DVR in the living room with Bose speakers inside and out! There is also a small flat screen TV/DVR in the master bedroom and a flat screen TV in “The Trout” room.

Our home is completely furnished with loads of Southwest charm and warmth. Beautiful antiques, art, and handcrafted custom made log furniture, makes this home picture perfect! It has all amenities, washer, dryer, antique reproduction stove and oven, microwave and small appliances. It has an antique wood burning stove fireplace, circa 1890, which can be used for burning wood in the right season.

The Master bedroom has a queen bed, sitting area with a nice leather chair/0ttomam to sit, relax and read. There’sfull bath with an antique claw foot tub and shower with 2 sinks.

There is exterior loft outside the master bedroom door with futon and an additional dresser for your clothes. The loft is perfect for kids to hang, especially a pleasant spot for taking a nap or reading a book too! This is one of my favorite inside places to relax with the skylight to see the stars and a nice widow overlooking the river.

The second bedroom downstairs called the "Trout Room" has a queen custom made bed of Aspen and a sitting area with grandfather bamboo love seat.

The third bedroom downstairs called the "Bear, Deer and Elk Room" has a custom aspen log full bed. Children especially love this room but it works for big people too! The 2 bedrooms downstairs share a full bath in the hallway and it also serves as your guest bath.

Our deck is completely furnished with a 6 person Jacuzzi, custom handmade adirondeck chairs, log dining table and benches. There is also a hammock to relax, take a nap or read a book by the river in summer. Any season bring your favorite books!

My favorite part of the deck besides the Jacuzzi is the outdoor Kokopelli fire pit. We also have a Weber natural gas grill for all your delicious BBQ's in any season and a Weber charcoal grill too!

Plus, we have a campfire area in the yard during summer, fall and spring with handmade log benches for larger gatherings. Don't forget to bring your guitar for campfire sing- a - longs!

We are so honored that we have had some guests that have been coming to Mac's Hideaway for 10-17 years and truly our home is their home too!

If you are visiting with a large group of friends Dancing River and River Lodge are located almost right next door to our home and also available for rent., plus other homes too! The owners are friends of mine that came to visit me and ended up purchasing their own homes because they loved our neighborhood and Pagosa!

In summer don't forget to fill the hummingbird feeders and sit in the rockers in amazement to watch them feed, especially in the early morning and at sunset! I love this activity! Mix one part hot water and 4 parts sugar and bring and then fill feeders. Any left overs can be refrigerated.
