Relaxing Emerald Isle

We had a wonderful time at Emerald Isle. The location of this property is excellent. It is one block from public access and very easy walk. Google maps identifies the entrance to the property off of Fairfax Road rather than Emerald Drive. We followed Google maps and ended up in the wrong place and scared the neighbors. Just be aware that the entrance is off of Emerald Drive.Overall everything was clean but the air return was caked in dust. It is a long a stairwell so right at eye level and very noticeable. The room setup is excellent for families. There is at least one room with a bathroom on each floor and a small kids room next to the main suite. Overall this was a great house for our family of 10. We would return and enjoy this accommodation.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was nice. There are a few things that need some attention. The tester is broken. The storm door on the first floor back door is very difficult to open and close. You really have to bang on it to get it open and I worry about the liability broken glass. The comforter in the third floor bedroom was stained and needs to be laundered I would've loved to have had someone dicks to clean the dining room table and countertops like I say overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you for providing us a nice vacation home

Beautiful Home

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. It is very clean, updated, and has everything you need. Lots of natural light on the main floor. Just a short walk to the incredibly, pristine beach. We would definately stay here again. Thank you!

July 4th vacation

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros - property manager is incredible. Theresa was very timely and helpful. The location is great, a very short walk to the beach. The house was clean and had plenty of amenities in the kitchen. Cons - we had major water issues during most of our stay, but those were corrected for our last full day. The shelf on the refrigerator door falls off frequently. Don’t store anything heavy on it. One queen bed is tilted so that the couple in that room had to sleep with their feet to the headboard to avoid slipping off.

Great stay at a great property

Just had a Sunday to Sunday stay here. A well layed out property. We slept 7 adults with room to spare. Of note was the property manager. We had a few issues and she responded right away, came by and then sent a maintenance man for the rest. So great customer service! Clean, a block from the beach, mid-way on the island.

This is a place run by a big company instead of individually - it’s quite clear. There is no way the decks on that house are up to code. I’m surprised it holds three people, let alone 10. No joist hangers. Half the joists aren’t nailed into the ledger - it’s a 2” x 2” holding everything up. I’m surprised it passed/passes inspection, if they ever had one. Other than that, it’s just little details that make you think they don’t care…-dirty air vents-missing cabinet doors-out dated photos of the property, they are not recent photos - off of Google we have them being a couple years old-missing blinds-coffee maker that only works when it wants to-half the bed linens weren’t where they were supposed to be - missing pillow cases - missing sheetsNot enough bad things to rank it less than 4/5 but enough to let others be warned about it though. I’m not feeling shamboozled but I won’t be coming back here or doing business with the property management company again.

Family vacation

Overall the stay was great. There were some issues. The stove needs repairing. It took an hour too cook breakfast because of the burners. We had roaches in two of the rooms. And there were ants also all along the stove. The home is beautiful. Would have also loved to go on the balcony’s outside on the second fllor

Charming house

Too hot

The top floor would not get below 76 degrees. I called and she sent someone only after telling me to close the drapes. The A/C filter for the top floor was plugged solid. And the lower floor filter was too. By the time we left it was nice. But still a little musty. Also ,the dryer vent was plugged so bad it had over a 1/2" of lint on it. (Fire hazard). We spent most of the time outside.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked our stay at the last minute and were pleased with our accommodations. We have always stayed on the beachfront but with planning our stay last minute we were excited to still be 1/2 a block from the beach. I had 2 chief complaints about the property: the master bedroom mattress was WAY too soft (so soft that my young son took the master and I ended up in another room) and there is a window a/c unit in the living room that is not displayed in any of the photos. It does help keep the room cool (although the bedroom on the top floor still remains a bit warm/stuffy) but it is very loud and made it difficult to carry on a conversation/watch a movie.

So glad you were able to get your last minute vacation in. Because of the vaulted ceiling on the top floor and all the windows, that floor can get warm quickly, even with the brand new air conditioner dedicated solely to that floor. We put the portable air conditioner in the corner for our renters to use at their discretion to try to keep it more comfortable during this heat wave we have been having. I am very sorry it disturbed you and your family, but hope it at least kept you cool. Hope you decide to visit again soon.

Keep Looking, Better Options are Available

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When looking for your summer beach rental, are you seeking a place where the owner put the least amount of money in it; the applications are decade plus old, you can hear road traffic as if you were outside, and there is more grime and dirt than at your house? Then you found your next vacation house, read more. The good part of the house first: the location is good, a short walk to the beach. It’s beyond the daily traffic heading into/out of the main part of town. It’s reasonable easy to get where you want to go. We’ve stayed at other rentals in at other beaches, so our expectations were set fairly. After doing our research we thought we selected a great house for our family vacation. Pulling into the driveway, we thought that we were in the wrong location. The house differed from the pictures. The appliances were old and not maintained well. How do we know, we had to make repairs to the refrigerator and dish washer as well as to cabinets. What beach house doesn’t have a grill? The “grill” was a tiny electric grill that didn’t look like it was cleaned in a decade or more. The showers were not cleaned, there’s who knows what growing on the shower rods and drains. The lines and towels are the poorest quality too. So if you are sensitive to those type of things, bring your own. If you are one that likes to have the windows open, good luck. Most of the windows would not stay open unless you found and used a rod. Speaking of windows if you are a light sleeper, sleep downstairs. Otherwise you will hear the road noise as if there were no windows and the house was on the road. Emerald Island is great, the beach is everything you heard and read about. Unfortunately, we would be hard pressed to recommend this house to anyone. In fact, would encourage you to continue to look for other hou

I am very sorry you had a bad experience while you were visiting our rental. You were here for a week and I never heard a complaint. We do everything to make your stay pleasurable. The pictures are exactly like the home. And the showers were just installed in May of this year. Not sure how it was possible to anything to be growing in them yet since it does get cleaned every week. I never heard the refrigerator, dish washer, or the cabinets were broke. I would have been glad to send a maintenance man immediately. Again, sorry for the way your vacation went, but had we known anything was wrong, we could have been there to fix and make your vacation better.

Perfect Location + Bright + Clean

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Bella Vista East was in the perfect location. Bright and clean upon arrival. Beach access was easy and convenient. Close to stores, restaurants, and activities. Just before our arrival we received a text from Teresa letting us know there was an issue with the AC. She assured us that a technician would be out the next day. Not only was he there on time he was efficient and respectful. Teresa was available by text and responsive. The bedrooms were large and had more than enough bathrooms for 7 adults. If I have one suggestion, it would be a table on the upstairs deck so you could dine outside. Overall, we had a great experience, in a great house, in a great location. I recommend Bella Vista East.

Nice layout and plenty of room

House is very spacious and a pretty close walk to the beach. We enjoyed our stay overall but felt the house was not cleaned very well. There were dust balls in corners of steps, a lot of sand under rug in living room. There is a bedroom on the bottom floor with two twin beds, this room had a spider web behind the bedroom door and sand on top of the comforter that was covered by a throw blanket at foot of bed. Two of the showers had a mat in them that were completely gross and we had to take them out. Both of those showers did not appear to be cleaned very well and we had to clean them before we would even use them. The layout of the house a bedroom setup was great and worked very well for our party. Just wish it had been cleaned a little better. I do take into consideration that finding good help is hard to come by these days.
