This beautifully decorated condominium offers a King bed and triple dresser in the master bedroom with a spacious master bath, a Queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room, and a set of Twin bunk beds.

The TV's throughout this condo are flat screen and large. The living room tv is a 60 in smart tv with blu ray player, the bunkroom has a separate tv w/DVD for each bunk and the master has a 50in flat smart tv. So when you come in from the beach or the lazy river you can relax in your bed or on the sofa and enjoy your favorite shows on a large flat screen tv.

The open floor plan offers a fully equipped kitchen, dining table with seating for six, and four bar stools. Dine outside on your patio table for four if you prefer! There is a private gas grill on the rooftop above the unit. You may also prefer to sun bath up on the roof, too! The views of the ocean and bay are unlike most other units at Destin West. Your living area leads you to a tropical paradise and private convenient beach access is available.

Destin West Beach & Bay Resort is a beautiful community featuring some of the most spectacular views of the Emerald Coast. Destin West beaches offer secluded sugar-white sands with activities for the whole family. A week in Paradise <3

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Bad timing and full price still paid

Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It would have been nice to notify us that the lazy river and pools would not be available due to resurfacing since this was the selling point of the property. We were very unhappy to learn about this upon arrival.

Very pleased!

This property was very well maintained and well kept! The views were amazing and we loved having the penthouse! My advice to visitors...this condo does not supply salt, pepper, etc. This may not be an uncommon thing, but every other VRBO that I’ve stayed at in the past have supplied things like this. Just a heads up. Also, make sure you read about where you can set up your umbrella and chairs on the beach before you go down.

Fun time away

Great location Beautiful view of pool/lazy river, harbor area Lazy River was very relaxing Comfortable bed Really nice and convenient overpass bridge to get from bayside to gulfside and vice versa Couch and couch pillows very dirty and smelly Entry door to unit was difficult to push open (sounded like rubber strip is dragging?) Curtains in living room are really stained all over the back side Elevators are super fast Nice garage area to park Be aware that the lazy river operation system has a loud, buzzing sound at all times Our time was great and the negative things listed about the unit are ALL things that can be easily changed or updated.

Beautiful condo, gorgeous pool!

We enjoyed our stay at the Pelican's Roost. The condo was a great size for my family of three. It was clean, well appointed and the view is awesome. The only thing I would suggest is the lack of basic items (Toilet paper, cleaning items like sponges, trash bags, etc.) We expect to have a few more of these basics when we stay in a nice place like this one. The place is also teaming with kids until 11 PM, so I would not recommend this Resort if you are looking for a quiet stay during spring break week. My kid loved the lazy river pool and we definitely enjoyed the amenities the resort offers. The beach is lovely and that is why we picked Okaloosa. It is definitely less crowded than Destin, so I would prefer to stay in that area. Traffic is crazy, but if you just want to stay in your condo and walk to nearby restaurants, it is worth it.

Amazing Condo

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The overall experience was excellent from when we first booked it until we checked out. The unit was exactly as described and shown in the photos. It had everything we needed for the week in the kitchen and also had a keurig machine in it as well which was a nice feature. The unit was overlooking the bay and lazy river. We spotted dolphins several of the days of our stay and took advantage of the lazy river every chance we could. The furniture in the living room were very comfortable and our king size bed in the bedroom was cozy and had a lot of room to relax and sleep after the day out. There are a lot of different beach chairs, toys, wagons, etc. in the garage which makes it easy so you don’t have to lug extra things from home, which is nice. Overall experience was excellent. We will be back again next year for sure.

Not Like The Pictures

My first impression when I walked in after seeing the place was—-this is ok, but not what I would expect in a “penthouse” suite. The floors were dirty, the fridge requires manipulation to shut and it remains off center, the baseboards and walls need painted, the shower curtain in the master is dirty and has rust around the holes to hang it, there is paint peeling on the cabinet in the second bathroom, the bunk beds are old and need painted, the tv in the bottom bunk does not work, the one at the top has a terrible picture when on, the couch is dirty (we had to put down a blanket just to sit on it), both chairs are dirty and also require a blanket to sit on them, the water pressure in the kitchen is so minimal, there was brown water coming out of the faucets, showers and toilets (called to report this and was told it was a city issue). I never felt comfortable for our entire stay and would not recommend this unit. We’ve stayed at this resort before and the condo we stayed in was way better and less expensive. I’m very disappointed and wish we had spent our hard earned vacation money elsewhere.

Great Location-near the board walk-Probably wouldn't stay in this unit again.

Location of unit was excellent. However, it would have been nice if the owner left a guide to the area and the best way to access the beach. It took us until Wednesday to realize there was an easier way to navigate the beach and have quick access to the boardwalk, to cool off or get a snack. We decided taking the bridge was cumbersome. Once you get down the elevator, up the elevator to the bridge and down the elevator on the other side across the next property and out to the beach you realize there has to be a better more direct way. We also didn't want to pay $40.00 to rent chairs especially since we brought our own beach supplies. We found the best most direct route was to drive to the board walk and park. This gives you straight access to the beach and lands you right near the board walk. We did walk up and down the beach and get in the ocean, of course, but being near the boardwalk was the best way. We also didn't realize until the last day the itinerary of what was planned each day of the week. We finally saw a sign facing the parking lot at the end of the board walk in the middle of Floyds. So they do movies on Tuesday, Fireworks on Weds and something else on Thursday, but we missed all that since we didn't know about them. We did figure out the fireworks when we heard them going off, but we had already returned to the condo. We tried to go to miramar and Destin, but didn't have any luck there. All the beach parking was full and we couldn't get to any of the restaurants on the beach. Again, if the owners had left some tips and places they like to go, we could have probably avoided this. So we didn't go back. We just went to the beach every day, went to the pools and went back to the beach in the evening. We did do a dolphin boat ride, but after we heard them talk about crab island, we wished we would have done that instead. The owners could have left/given all this info. We are from Ohio. How were we supposed to know. The unit is very small. Much smaller than the pictures. the oven was dirty, the couch and cushions are stained. One of the elevators did break down while we were there. Someone got stuck in elevator #1 for 2 hrs. We had issues with elevator #2. It made loud noises and wouldn't go up or down. But at least we were able to get out. We called beach getaways and they asked us what we wanted them to do about it. They don't run the building. Seriously! That's your answer. They weren't helpful.
