Super Close to Short Sands Beach!!

The house is in a great location, only 2/10th of a mile from Short Sands Beach, local shops, fine dining, and amusements. Seas The Day is set back nicely from Main Street offering a feeling of seclusion & privacy yet the luxury of being close to everything! This great cottage is recently renovated with an updated kitchen, new flooring & new windows. There are two bedrooms and one full bathroom with a tub/shower. There is a bedroom on the main level. There is parking for 2 cars. There are 2 smart T.V.ā€™s and Free Wi-Fi. For your beach-going convenience an outdoor shower is located off the back deck. This is a non-smoking property. The kitchen has a 2 person breakfast bar, small 4 person dining table, full size refrigerator and 4 burner propane stove and oven. Off the living room is a French door that opens up to a massive 400 Sq. ft. deck, perfect for barbequing, sunbathing, or just some Rest & Relaxation with family & friends. An outdoor gas grill is provided. There is also a hot and cold water outdoor shower for your after beach going convenience. It is our expectation that you bring your own towels, beach towels, bed sheets and pillow cases. 1 queen and 2 full beds. To access the oversized upstairs bedroom you will need to be able to climb very steep cottage style stairs. (I do not recommend anyone with toddlers or mobility impairments plan on renting this cottage to sleep upstairs). The bathroom is on the 1st floor and the stairs are quiet steep with no way to block them off from upstairs. We do allow 1 dog per booking with an agreement to follow basic pet rules and a separate payment of a nonrefundable pet fee of $250 per stay. Please feel free to reach out for our detailed check list. So, come Seas the Day at this cozy but modern beach bungalow and make your York Beach memories last a lifetime.

Our stay was great! The cottage was very clean and provided everything we needed. The stairs would be a challenge for anyone with a mobility issue and definitely not a good idea for small children, or anyone needing to carry a child up and down stairs. Otherwise, not a problem. We appreciated the air conditioning for the extremely hot days we had. The location is perfect and an easy walk to the town and beach. Our instructions for accessing the key were a little confusing. It was stated the key would be in a lock box on the outdoor shower; however, the door has a touch pad and you just need the code. The keys were in the house and the door unlocked when we arrivedā€¦ no problem. One suggestion for the listing would be to mention the coffee maker is a Keurig. We had brought ground coffee and needed to go buy pods. We would definitely rent this vrbo again. It was perfect.

Decent accommodation. Fantastic location.

One adult and three teenagers. The teens used the upstairs space which was spacious. There are two QUEEN beds which is nice except the description stated one queen and one full so the sheets we brought didnā€™t fit. We appreciated the AC. Overall the space was tight. Very small bathroom and sink. No mirrors except the bathroom. Please put one in the bedrooms! And only a keurig coffee maker. We brought our own coffee and couldnā€™t make it. And Iā€™m opposed to keurigs due to the waste. Unfortunately the deck doesnā€™t have privacy. There is a brand new house less than 50 feet away and we were looking right at it - along with a party one of the nights we were there. A fence or shrubbery would help. The neighbors were friendly, however and we enjoyed the proximity to town.

Cozy cottage with an excellent location

Stayed at this cottage with my wife and little one. We loved it because the upstairs was seperated from the living room so we could put her to bed and still enjoy our evenings. Everything was super clean and comfortable. The ductless splits keep the place cool during the summer heat. We loved the back deck! It was very quiet in the neighborhood as well.The best part was the location. It was a 5-10 minute walk to short sands! I could load the wagon and head down the beach and not have to deal with parking.

Adorable and quiet space for me and my family. It was just a short walk to the shops and beach and the deck was the perfect place for us to gather for dinner, games and even for my husband and I to work at times.

Great location!

Within walking distance to downtown York. We were there for a wedding at the Cliff House in Ogunquit and it was nice to stay a little bit away from the super busy areas. York is really cute and the cottage is only a few minute walk from downtown.The cottage is a great sizeā€”the second bedroom upstairs has really steep steps, so not ideal for elderly/infirm or young children. The deck was nice but I took one star off of cleanliness of property just because it seemed like it hadnā€™t been swept all season. The inside was very clean though.

Good Location

Property was a 5 minute walk to town and the beach. House was great for the two of us. Would be tight for 6-8 people. House was clean and well stocked with pots/pans/dishes etc. We would stay again.

the cottage was clean, the grill great, the deck was very nice although the weather did not let us utilize it. the walk to the beach was not too long. there were amenities not mentioned so I was not sure if they were meant for us to use, like a beach buggie and beach chair. we had brought our own. We had a lovely stay.

great location

house is very cute, location is perfect with how many times we walked back and forth to downtown. the grill got replaced while we were there which was great. When we arrived there was still food from previous renters and a drawer filled with previous renters bathing suits. I had messaged the owner and never heard back. there was a binder with some helpful information but i had a question about the trash to which i inquired about and no response. Beds were comfy but could hear mice in the walls at night and during the day. When i was cleaning up to leave you could hear 2 mice in the kitchen ceiling and one almost fell through the floor and some insulation came out. I messaged the owners and sent a picture and got no response. Overall stay was good, communication was lacking.

Great week at the beach

Location is fantastic! The back deck was where we spent most of our time while at the cottage. Cottage was very clean, had everything that we needed plus some unexpected items in the kitchen for cooking. A wonderful beach vacation.

Fabulous Beach Week

Seas The Day was perfect for our family of 4, including 2 college students. The location is great because it's an 8-minute walk to the village and beach. And the large deck provides more space to hang out. We have a small dog who barks a lot but the house is pretty private so she didn't bark at people walking by like she does at home.

Convenient get away

The location was great - walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The rental was very clean. We really appreciated the ownerā€™s responsiveness when we contacted them regarding a yellow jackets nest that was near the deck. The furniture in the unit was not as pictured in the listing, and the futon couch was very uncomfortable. The upstairs of the unit was very comfortable, though. Overall we had a great stay!

Family Vacation

We had a lovely stay. Cute cottage, living area a tad small but that wasnā€™t what we were there for. The deck is spacious and enough room to spread out. Great location to Short Sands. Could walk everywhere. The only downside was the weather.

Loved the deck and outside shower. inside upstairs was great for the grandkids little small downstairs the bathroom the doorknob kept falling off and the bathtub and sink did not drain very well.. my daughter slept on the futon she said it was uncomfortableā€¦. Other than that we had a great timeā€¦ thank you

This property was clean and so cute. I loved the upstairs. I felt that I was in my own little suite. The kitchen area is a little tight if two people are cooking and prepping at the same time. The back deck is very spacious but I was under the impression there was a yard. Overall the place suited our needs

Family weekend

The house was perfect for our needs. Although it is on a main road, the house is tucked in the back of the property. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was very clean. The downstairs area is quite small but the upstairs loft gave us room to spread out and relax at night. Perfect for 2/3 people! Comfy beds!

Husbands bday

The location is great. Mere minutes away from the beautiful beach and accompanying town. The shops are great. I recommend Whispering Sands. Folks that own it are great and the store has a great selection. We had food at Ricks down the street- very good. The property was very charming. Clean. modern updates are the tvs and the wifi. They even offer streaming on them which was super helpful with our 3 year old during the rain. Old, dated appliances and furniture mixed with what looks like refurbished pieces added such a charm and homey feel. You feel at home here. Cleaning fee is a bit steep especially since we kept the home clean and orderly and respected the property- but I get it. Sadly some people donā€™t. Very comfortable accommodations, feels like youā€™re at home, the beds were so comfy (my body always hurts in a new bed and I didnā€™t experience anything like that. Seems like the beds are all new and of quality) We fell in love with Maine (weā€™re from NY) and plan to come back asap. Hopefully this rental will still be here. Itā€™s a great place to end up after a 6 hour car trip and York, Maine is a wonderful place to be. Great birthday trip and thatā€™s with it raining 100% of the time! Thank you guys !! Kristen

3-day Stopover

We paid $150 for sheets and towels for a 3-night stay. They were not there when we checked in. The voicemail box was full, so we had to find another number to contact. We were told they were about 5 minutes away. We waited 30 minutes (after driving 8 hours and wanting to go eat) for them to be brought and then ended up having to make our beds that night. A small but annoying extra. The sink and tub in the bathroom do not drain well, so you are standing in dirty water as you shower. There needs to be a thorough clean before the next guests. Lots of items were sticky and dirty (hair dryer, lamps, etc). The location was great, and we enjoyed walking to town and eating locally. The deck was enjoyable with all the wildlife: birds and groundhog!
