Fort Morgan and Morgantown

Morgantown is a lovely, unique seaside community featuring two swimming pools, a kiddie pool, two lighted tennis/pickleball courts and several beach access boardwalks. When you first arrive, you'll notice pride of ownership in this pastel colored, beautifully landscape neighborhood. Guests really enjoy walking and biking along the quiet streets and many rent golf carts and enjoy sunset drives. If you have small children or just prefer the convenience of parking close to the beach, there is a public lot just to the west of Morgantown.

Located a scenic 15 miles from Gulf Shores, you'll find everything you need close at hand. Dollar General and Sassy Bass Market are just a few miles away and have all the basics you might need. There are several restaurants nearby offering a variety of tasty dishes. Tacky Jack's, Sassy Bass (2 locations), Coast and brand-new Jesse's (opening soon) to name a few. Some venues even offer live, local entertainment.

Fort Morgan fishing pier is now open, and anglers will have access to convenient inshore fishing and the abundant species locally available.

Be sure and visit nearby Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge with over 7,000 acres of coastal habit. You'll be able to hike through the preserve and observe local flora and fauna. There are 4 trails, varying in size and terrain, and you'll definitely want to make time to visit this natural oasis.

Wonderful to say the least

We had a wonderful vacation at Silver Dunes. Very nice house in a great location. We had a couple of hiccups while we were there, but the management company immediately addressed them - they were absolutely wonderful.

I loved that we were right on the beach. It was easy to get our chairs and umbrellas down and back up each day. The beach area around us was more crowded than I like, but that was due to the size of the neighborhood.

My family had a very relaxing week at this prPros:-I have never had a manager check in on us as much as this property. Communication was excellent and prompt. Gail was so sweet and I felt like if anything went wrong, she would take care of it. Thank you!-location is literally steps from the beach and beautiful!- the open concept floor plan on the first floor is great for a family to hang out and be together in. - itā€™s away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas Cons:- you can defiantly tell this property has been ā€œwell lovedā€. It needs a deep clean and some cosmetic updates. A few places had mold (upstairs bathrooms and closet) - no beach chairs or umbrellas are provided, so you need to bring your own and carry them back and forth to the house each day.- the upstairs ran hot and you are asked to not cut the air lower than 72 degrees.

Birthday Beach Babes

We decided on a whim to take our kiddos (and my parents) to the beach for a quick 72 hour trip. This property was great, peaceful, relaxing, steps to the beach. It could use a little paint update would be the only (kind of) negative thing to say. It was clean. I would book this stay again, hands down.
