Welcome to Sunrise Chalet, a lakeside beauty now available for late spring to fall rentals! Only about 2 hours from NYC, North/Central Jersey and Philly, this 4-bedroom, 3-bath Northern Poconos lakefront home has some of the most stunning views in the area, plus a FLAT walkout to the lake/private dock! Located on Lake Roamingwood in the private Hideout community in the town of Lake Ariel. Even better, the home is located in the mid-section of Roamingwood Lake (considered the most desirable section by many due with its gorgeous views)! NEW custom dock currently being built for the 2026 rental season!


Sunrise Chalet has everything youā€™re looking for in a Poconos getaway. You can enjoy spectacular lake views from the great room with its soaring knotty pine cathedral ceiling or from the expansive porches (both screened-in and open). Relax in front of the dramatic floor-to-ceiling stone propane gas fireplace in the great room. Take one of the kayaks out on the lake or roast marshmallows at the dockside fire pit. Have a zen moment with the provided yoga mats and accessories, or go downstairs to the game room and try your luck on the four stand-up arcade units or fully loaded classic Nintendo game area. Or, do some bird watching. Keep an eye out for the bald eagle that likes to roost in the tall trees by our dock!


No need to sacrifice modern conveniences, either. These include new split-unit AC system with remote controls; new washer and dryer; new large-capacity water heater; completely-remodeled bathrooms on 1st and 2nd floors; a kitchen with granite counter tops, 2 islands and stainless steel appliances; higher-speed wireless WiFi; and Smart HDTVs in the great room, game room and each bedroom. As a courtesy to our guests, we provide complimentary access to the Sunrise Chalet Netflix, Hulu with Live TV, Disney+ and ESPN+ accounts. The home very uniquely offers additional convenience with a 2023-installed whole-home automatic generator (in the off-chance of a power outage).


The home is in the 24/7 gated Hideout community with numerous amenities offered to guests, including 2 heated outdoor pools, 2 sand beaches with play areas for kids, golf course, indoor/outdoor tennis courts, 2 restaurants, tiki bar, mini golf, fitness center and more. Scenic hiking trails abound, and, for boat rentals, public boat launches and numerous lakeside dining options, huge Lake Wallenpaupack is just a short drive away. The expansive Crossroads outlet stores are approx. 45 minutes away.


About the property:
4-bedroom, approx. 3,000 sq. ft. house comfortably sleeps 8 (1 king; 2 queens and 2 twins)

Bunk beds in downstairs game room sleeps additional two people

Three full baths (one on each floor)

Large man-made lake has rock bottom and is regularly maintained by The Hideout community

Breeo fire pit (wood provided as a courtesy to our guests); plenty of outdoor seating

Several kayaks and paddle sets provided, as well as a variety of life vests in adult and kids' sizes (please inspect prior to use)

The lake is stocked with various kinds of bass and crappie. Fishing is allowed at our dock and from kayaks. Per PA law, anyone over 16 needs a fishing license and this is enforced on Lake Roamingwood (let us know if you need info about obtaining a short-term fishing license).

New propane grill added in 2023 (tanks provided; if you happen to run out during your stay, refill at nearby stores and owner will reimburse with receipt)

New extra-capacity water heater

New full-size washer & dryer

New mini-split A/C system with separate temperature control for each bedroom

Check-in and checkout are generally on Saturdays during peak season (please inquire if you have other schedule needs in case we can accommodate

The Hideout is a 24/7 gated community, and it has rules in place to ensure everyone's safety

Upon arrival, all cars must check in at the gate when you arrive with ID and license plate # to receive a guest pass to display in the car for the entire stay

Roamingwood is a powerboat lake, boat launch is reserved only for residents with Roamingwood permits

The property has security cameras (exterior only) to help ensure compliance with community parking rooms and guest limits

To help ensure safety of pedestrians, the HOA uses cameras on the roadways within the community to monitor speed (this is heavily monitored, so please be sure to pay attention to speeding limit signs, as any violations are the responsibility of the guest)

Driveway is steep (while regular cars can access, some guests prefer to bring SUVs)

Prior to checkout, bring trash and recycling to community dumpsters about 2 minutes down the road (hours are very flexible)

It was very nice. It was great being right on the lake. My family could fish right there and we used the kayaks and we had a raft. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for cooking.

This place was awesome! Jill was a great host. It was everything we could have asked for, well stocked with all that was needed. We enjoyed the lake and beaches; house was clean and tidy. Great Stay at the Chalet

This was our first trip to the Poconos and the Sunset Chalet was perfect! Our group included two families with kids and there was plenty of space for everyone inside the house and down by the water, where we spent most of our time. House is as pictured and clean. Thanks for a great relaxing stay!

Amazing sunrises!

This is a beautiful property, it has a great layout, room for everyone to have thier own space. Perfect spot to enjoy the sunrise. The lake was pretty busy on the weekend but quiet and serene during the week, ideal for kayaking. We had a great time! Would definitely rent again.

Another Fantastic Trip to Roaming Woods Lake

This is our second time staying in the Hideout on Roaming Woods Lake. We had a fantastic time. The house was great...tons of amenities to keep the kids entertained. We all loved using the kayaks and the kids swam in the lake for hours and hours. The house had everything we needed for a great family trip. We will be back.

Our family had a wonderful week at this beautiful home which was well stocked. Great location on the lake with beautiful views. Our grandchildren loved all the video and arcade games downstairs which came in handy on a rainy day. Kayak rides and swimming in the lake! So much to do in the Hideout. We will definitely return!

An Idyllic Vacation Spot!

Our extended family with our 2 daughters, their husbands and 2 grandchildren was perfect at the Sunrise Chalet! Jill was an amazing host who was great about giving us timely information and she thought of everything to make it a relaxing vacation. The house is situated between the main beach and north beach, so we were able to easily kayak to either one and have others park a car with the kids. I can't say enough wonderful things about how much fun we had.

Great Week at Sunrise Chalet!

We loved staying at Sunrise Chalet! The house was perfect for our group. The owner was helpful and open to communicate from the beginning of our stay. The kitchen was stocked with everyday needs. We also loved the location of the house within The Hideout. It was easy to kayak to the public beach and the kids loved swimming off the dock in front of the house. The beautiful view of the lake from the deck was a great way to drink our coffee in the morning. We really loved this home and hope to return!

Relaxation at Lake

Our family had an amazing time at the lake! The house definitely has a relaxing lake house vibe and the community has tons of amenities. The owners had a welcome package when we arrived, which was greatly appreciated. We caught a bunch of different species of fish from the dock. The kids had fun doing pottery, playing basketball, going to the beaches, paddle boarding, and the pool.

Beautiful lake front home

The home is well maintained/updated and well stocked. The provided bedding was very nice and the bath towels were thick and lush. The online listing was very accurate as were the pictures. The owner even texted us the day of arrival that we could have access two hours earlier than expected. Also, the community pools, beaches, playgrounds and on site restaurants were great. Would definitely rent this house again.

Fantastic Lake Trip

Our stay at the Sunrise Chalet was truly fantastic! The house is wonderfully situated right by the lake, offering breathtaking views that left us in awe. The owners went above and beyond to ensure that our family's vacation was completely stress-free. We're no strangers to spending our summers by the lake for a week, but this house has set a new standard - it's the best we've experienced so far! Throughout our stay, Jill was incredibly responsive, promptly addressing any questions or concerns that arose. Minor issues were handled with efficiency. Comfortable and spacious

We very much enjoyed this lakeside retreat! The chalet was very well-stocked (kitchen, baths, laundry, games/puzzles) and had lots of activities for everyone. We most enjoyed the kayaks (3x), fire pit, arcade, screened porch, smart TVs, kitchen and bedrooms. The chalet was very spacious and had spaces for everyone to enjoy together and/or separately. We also took advantage of several of The Hideout community amenities, including the beaches, pool and outdoor basketball court. We also visited the Paws-n-Claws outdoor animal park nearby and it was an amazing surprise - the entire park was shaded and had many unique animals to see and feed. We had a great time!!

Wonderful family getaway!

Our week-long stay at the Sunrise Chalet was incredible! The house was clean and comfortable, and in a great location (welcome basket was a huge hit with the 4 yo too). The sunrise lake views were a wonderful way to start each day and the house was spacious and well laid out. There were many places outside to relax as well, including the deck, screened in porch, dock, swing, and fire pit area. Our 4 year old daughter loved playing the arcade games in the basement. We also utilized many of the amenities offered at The Hideout (the 9 hole golf course, putting green, mini golf course, arcade, ceramics offered at the art center, etc.). And the best part is that the chalet is within walking distance to two beaches and a pool. We cannot wait to visit again!

We LOVE Sunrise Chalet!! Great R&R!

Our family LOVED our stay at Sunrise Chalet!! The lakefront access was great. We kayaked every day right off the private dock. The lake was very clean for swimming. The game room was fun and kept the kids busy. We were also close to a lot of local attractions and stores ... the location was really convenient for us. We always had something to do. We felt very welcome as soon as we entered the house! It was beautiful and very clean. The views of the lake are really stunning. We saw a bald eagle several times, which was really cool to see up close! We are already talking about our stay next year!! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great place in the Poconos!

Sunrise Chalet!!

We had an amazing time staying at the Sunrise Chalet! Although, our weather did not cooperate, we loved the beautiful house and its wonderul location directly on the lake! We were able to take Kayaks out right from the back yard. Jill was just wonderful and was available with any questions we had. The community was so nice as well. There were pools and a couple of small beaches on the lake. The house was equipt with a full game room in the basement which was quite nice for us and the kiddos on those bad weather days we encountered. We would love to go back and stay again! Sarah

Lovely and Relaxing Lake Stay

This home has everything you need to have a great getaway on the lake. Jill and Helen were great at communicating and always available if needed. The house is very well stocked with tv's, games, paper goods, all the basics for cooking and a wonderful welcome basket of snacks and coffee. Heating and a/c is easy to individually program in each room. Beds and bedding were comfy. We cooked most dinners in, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The community amenities were good for any weather; indoor and outdoor golf, tennis, pickle ball, outdoor running and walking routes. It was a perfect place for our family to get away for a relaxing week!

Sunrise Chalet Didn't Disappoint!

My family and I were looking for a quiet place to stay and needed to be on a lake. The Sunrise Chalet was perfect. We spent most of our days and nights hanging by the dock with my son fishing 24/7. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. We loved the welcome basket and the items supplied (including the bath towels folded on each bed) to get us started. The Hideout has many amenities to offer so there is no need to go to far away. Lastly, we want to thank our hosts for checking in on us and attending to any need we had. You don't get that in many places! We will def be back!

Relaxing, mountain retreat!

Our family greatly enjoyed our stay at Sunrise Chalet. The views of the lake wet stunning, especially during the peacefulness of the morning. We loved the kayaking, the game room, fishing, and just relaxing by the water's edge. The screened in porch was the perfect, quiet, morning location for relaxing & reading. Jill was great and prompt with any questions or concerns. The house was as advertised. There was plenty of space for our family and all the comforts of home were provided. Family dinners overlooking the lake made our time there priceless. The surrounding area was beautiful and made morning walks more enjoyable. The pool and beaches were easy to access. We hated to leave. Thank you for everything!

Just ended an amazing trip at Sunrise Chalet. This home is a renters dream and Jill is an incredible host, one of the best. She was readily available for any of our needs, though the home is extremely well-stocked with essentials and more, so we didn't need to ask for much! The house was large and comfortable enough for our 3gen family of 9 ranging from 7-71. We really appreciated all the labeled lightswitches & closets, it made it so easy to settle right in and relax. As a family of fishermen, we spent many hours fishing off the dock and lakefront. The location of this home on Roamingwood was prime. Countless bluegill, pumpkinseed, yellow perch, catfish, and smallmouth bass were caught, and many were keepers! We also spent time at both Hideout beaches and pools, and took day trips to Claws & Paws zoo and rented a slide pontoon on Lake Wallenpaupack to round out our fun filled week. Thank you Jill for your hospitality! We hope to book with you again in the future!

Family vacation at Sunrise Chalet

Stayed for a week with my adult children and their families. Was not disappointed. The house was as pictured in the description. Plenty to do in the Hideout community and the guest passes included with the rental was an added bonus. We enjoyed fishing, swimming and paddle boarding right from the backyard dock. Lake patrol security was excellent at enforcing boating rules to keep everyone safe. As the host points out in the description, the driveway is very steep and after a heavy rain the gravel gets a little loose. My son in law's car was lighter and had some trouble getting out, but took his time and did make it out. Jill was a great host. We will definitely stay there again!

Sunrise Chalet is our family's lakefront house and we're happy to share it with other guests! We knew this house was a very special place the first time we stepped into it. We had such a "wow" moment when we walked in through the front door and saw the gorgeous views of the lake, vaulted ceiling, floor-to-ceiling fireplace and huge kitchen! Our goal is for our guests to have the same feeling!

Sunrise Chalet has some of the most-stunning views we've seen from homes in the area. The chalet-style house uniquely has a very large kitchen with double islands. Gorgeous views of the lake are visible from multiple spots throughout the home, including the kitchen, dining area, living room and second-floor book nook area. There are so many entertaining areas outside: the deck, screened-in seating area on the side of the home, lakefront fire pit area with seating by our private dock and our picnic bench area. Additionally, Sunrise Chalet is located in what's considered the prime area of Lake Roamingwood (in the mid-section of the lake).
