There is also a lower deck when you are looking for a quiet spot to unwind. Follow the gravel road to the trailhead that leads to the community lake access area (some stairs). This quiet cove gives you a spot to go swimming or fishing. You can easily reach Deep Creek Lake activities, restaurants, shops, and marinas by taking a short drive. During the summer, rent a boat for the day to take your crew for a cruise. When the snow starts to fall, head to Wisp Resort for skiing and snow tubing. Thrill seekers can check out the Adventure Sports Center's man-made river where experienced guides lead exciting white-water rafting trips. You're also not far from historic downtown Oakland. Stroll quiet streets lined with unique eateries, shops, and museums. No visit to Deep Creek Lake is complete without experiencing at least one of our state parks.
