Please note - This property has been elevated and is now 14.5 feet up. There are many stairs that lead to the front door and no rear stairs - beginning Jan 1, 2026 - only booking 4 week stays - East Haven has banned STR's .

Cozy, year round, 3 bedroom cottage with an open and airy floor plan. First floor boasts a large open living room with fire place, dining area, full bath with step in shower and large kitchen. Primary bedroom upstairs with a large private full bath and washer and dryer. Lower floor has 2 bedrooms and each full size bed has a pullout trundle bed beneath it. Enjoy beautiful views of the Long Island Sound or the tranquil greens of the salt water marsh at this water front cottage! Please note that this is the Connecticut coast (the sound) at high tide the water is up to the rocks, at low tide it is a semi rocky/shells and sand beach. Water shoes are recommended as it is a rocky / shell coast

Will offer special pricing for any Sunday morning to Thursday evening rentals. Please message me thru vrbo if you are interested.

Loved my stay at this roomy, beautifully furnished, comfortable house on the shore. I was hoping it would be as nice as pictured in the profile, but I was surprised at how much nicer it was in person. Spacious, well equipped and perfectly located. I hope to return here again.

FANTASTIC for Yale graduation!

We stayed here to participate in our son’s graduation from Yale. The property was convenient to everything, and we loved the chance to be on the water when we wanted to get away from it all! The house had everything we needed to make it a really enjoyable weekend celebration!

What a great location and experience. Perfect accommodations for my family and large enough to invite others for a clam bake to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from Yale. Sheila was absolutely a pleasure to work with and made the logistics simple. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Warm Home Right on the Water

The photos of this property don’t do it justice. The home is right on the water and the views are breathtaking. We found ourselves outside on the deck almost all day, watching the water. It’s so peaceful, yet, there is enough activity to make you feel like you’re not in the middle of nowhere. The house is so warm and inviting. We kept telling each other how we felt instantly at home from the minute we arrived.Sheila is a fantastic communicator, the home was easy to access, and it’s equipped with everything you need to host a family there.I highly recommend staying here!

Nice Home with a Beautiful View!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks in July and loved it. The view of the sound from the home is so nice. We spent the days on the sand and the nights enjoying the view from the deck. The home was clean and fully stocked. Loved the qtips and cotton balls provided in the bathrooms. Also loved they provided flip flops. We were sad to leave and will definitely stay here again!

Family Getaway

The house overall was great. Plenty of space for six adults. Beautiful outdoor deck and furniture with water views. Very relaxing. During high tide the streets near the house do flood quite a bit. Access to the semi-private beach was a three minute walk. Nothing to do with the home but the beach area was a disappointment. It was extremely small and full of a tremendous amount of shells. Made swimming difficult to impossible. We wish we had water shoes.

The home is beautiful with plenty of room. All beds were comfortable even the bunk bed. House had a lot of extras. We enjoyed the fire.pit. No AC but a lot.of fans. Looks like they are in process of installing ac. Easy check in and out.Great views. Access to water is an inlet at the end of the street did not.look like great swimming. Our only disappointment besides the weather.. I would recommend to stay here the house was perfect.

Lovely home: perfect for Yale graduation weekend

The property was as advertised. The check-in process and communication with the owners was seamless and easy. The location, for us, was great with direct access to the Long Island sound from the property. There is a guide that helps you get your bearings on the house and the check out process. This was all smooth and helpful. We are a quiet group, which included our small family and an 86-year-old grandparent. The property is 17-20 minutes from Yale, where we were celebrating the graduation of one of our children. The drive was easy and uncomplicated and the respite away from the craziness of New Haven was welcomed. If you need to be "in the action" or have parties, this is probably not the place for you. For us, it was perfect. Would stay here again.

The house was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable. I loved all of the decorations. The view was spectacular. The host provided everything you could possible need for a comfortable stay. It was a very peaceful and relaxing stay. We hope to stay again soon!

This property is amazing. The location, the views and beach access are all perfection. The homeowner is accommodating and super responsive and the house is stocked with everything you may need for your stay. We loved every minute!

Three-day retreat

Only my brother and I stayed at the property, although it could accommodate several more people. The house and setting were lovely with three minor complaints: 1) the road to the house floods at high tide, making access difficult; 2) the kitchen was well stocked, but there were no filters for the fancy coffee maker and only instant coffee -- bring your own filters and coffee! and 3) the lounge chairs were uncomfortable. They should be replaced by better ones.

Weekend in East Haven

Description and photos of the property were totally accurate. Sheila was a very accommodating host and very easy to communicate with. Wonderful location, right on the beach! Quiet area with friendly neighbors. Perfect place to relax, unwind and watch the changing tides.
