Rustic Cabin sitting on the Edge of Lake Superior with an Outdoor Sauna

Get that camping feeling without the annoyance of bugs and animals creeping in on you. Fish Camp is a small, rustic cabin located right on beautiful Lake Superior in Shelter Bay and is one step up from camping. The lake front has a small rocky cliff, that can be dangerous for small children. Sleeps 4 comfortably, with one queen, one double, and one twin bed. The bedding is provided. Kitchen comes with a small refrigerator, a sink (no hot, running or potable water), and a hot plate to cook with (no stove/oven). Relax on the porch and grill out on the charcoal grill while watching the waves crash against the rocks or get rid of built-up stress by sitting in the sauna.  Pets are welcome for an additional fee, but please do NOT leave your pet alone in the cabin.  NOTE-There is a compost toilet just outside the cabin.
**NO HOT WATER or Cable**  We do provide Wi-Fi at the cabin now!

***Misuse of the compost toilet will result in a $100 fine. If you are unsure on how to use the toilet please call us.***

**PETS! Airbnb may only charge you for the 1st pet, you will be requested to send an additional $50 plus tax ($53) per pet. Our pet policy is $50/pet plus tax plus an additional one time cleaning charge of $30. If Airbnb does not collect this amount you are still responsible. We're respecting your pet, so please respect our pet policy. Clean up after your pet, please do not allow pets on furniture. Please keep kenneled if left alone. If your pet barks when you are gone, please do not leave it alone.

***Door code will be released the day of check-in for security purposes.

*** There is a doorbell camera mounted by the parking area outside.

Superior escape

This location is perfect! Walk down the stairs and have your own view of Lake Superior. Very cute cabin, it smelled and looked so clean!

Lots of thoughtful details and small amenities if you're willing to forgo a hot shower and a flush toilet. Great location, private and secluded (just one respectful neighbor on one side of the property), about halfway between Marquette and Munising.

Jet Ski Getaway

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! Breath taking views, quiet and serene. We grilled, had a fire and tested out the sauna! There was plenty to do just outside, but inside were games and whatnot to keep you entertained. We HIGHLY recommend and hope to return!

Great little cabin

We got in late at night because of delays in traveling plans and had no problems getting into the cabin because we were able to write down the directions and pin code before losing cell service. Very easy to locate the cabin and my brother and I got some good rest in before heading out the next morning. Favorite part was falling asleep to the rain lightly hitting the roof.

Northern Lights

This cozy cabin is incredible!! My dog and I came up for a trail running excursion and I couldn’t sing my praises of this place more. It’s quiet and peaceful, the sauna with a cold plunge in Lake Superior is epic and I was lucky enough to catch the northern lights on a big rock in the lake. There are a ton of amazing hiking trails and a few waterfalls close by, and the restaurant right down the road is great! I would absolutely love to return!

First experience with a compost toilet and let me tell you, way better than an outhouse or Port-a-potty! Will definitely be back in the spring.

It was fully stocked and the indoor fireplace was a nice way to stay warm at night. The firepit and shelf of wood that we could leave money for was very convenient. It was the perfect place to view sunrises and sunsets. The compostable toilet was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it was very high up and difficult to sit on.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hello - we absolutely loved the cabin and the location. The inside of the cabin was very clean and comfortable. The only issue was the lack of warm running water which is quite needed to not only wash the dishes but personal reasons if you stay at the cabin for longer than one night. Additionally, the toilet is not very disability friendly. Aside from that, it was a lovely place to stay:)

I am happy you enjoyed the cabin, the view truly is beautiful there. We do advertise the cabin as rustic with no hot water and it's not listed as handicap accessible so I apologize if you missed that prior to booking.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I loved this place for the views, silence, woods and lake. We brought our own water filtration system so the lack of potable water wasn't too much of an issue. I would have loved running water and a bathroom with a shower, but I knew what we were getting into. The only issue for the week was with the compost toilet. It malfunctioned a couple of times which was pretty gross. The caretaker was very kind, helpful and attentive. The cook plate doesn't work great. Luckily we could cook on the fire pit outside but it would be a good idea to replace it. There was also great birdwatching, a nice view and it is fairly close to lots of good hiking.

My absolute favorite place in the world

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fish Camp hits the sweet spot between camping and not camping. Cook over a fire, but there's a gas fireplace inside to keep you cozy. There's a kitchen with a hot plate + dishes/cooking implements, a sink pumping lake water, and a composting toilet. We really don't suffer from lack of a shower, as we go in the sauna, and then soap up and cold plunge in the lake. The firewood and sauna wood is well-stocked and thoughtfully assembled to make sauna use easy. This is the property that truly made us fall in love with the UP and Lake Superior. There's nothing better than scrambling down the rocks to sit on the giant boulder and watch the sun rise to the west with the moon rising to the east over, looking out over the beautiful cove. This rental is well-situated between Munising and Marquette, with close proximity to the Au Train River and many public access sandy beaches nearby. We have stayed here 3 times and will absolutely return as long as this rental exists. Access to the property has been seamless every time and property managers have been responsive and present. The rental is clean and well-maintained, with thoughtful details and amenities.

The cabin is comfortable, has all the necessary things for a memorable stay. As long as you know that you won`t get a luxury experience here but an experience that gives you a break from the busy lifestyle in more populated places, you won`t be disappointed. You won`t get a shower here and everything is simpler but that makes the experience that memorable. The housekeepers are super nice and helpful. We had a few problems with the payment and the fireplace, but they immediately fixed it and we found a solution.

Reviewer Comments: My boyfriend and I wanted to do some hiking around the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and this was such a great alternative to camping. House was incredibly clean and stocked with everything you could need. Great spot to watch sunsets on the rocks and have campfires until it was dark. Location was about a 40 minute drive to most trailheads in Munising.

Just the escape we needed!

We live in a tourist area of northern Wisconsin and by late August needed a secluded rest. The cabin is shelter, heat and sleep. Located maybe 20’ from the water on a slight cliff it provides great Superior gazing. We had a campfire going constantly and enjoyed 5 saunas over our two night stay. Great restaurant just up M28, and we cooked at the Camp over open fire. Great caretaker brought more sauna wood. Clean, linens provided, easy to heat and cozy.

I needed something that wasn't there and they brought it right out - on a Sunday. Wonderful storm the last evening. Great rock collecting at beaches and boat launches. :) One of my best friends from Ohio had just passed away so it was also a wonderful place to grieve my friend. The horizon and sunrises are the best place for coffee. I had a boulder that became my island to relax on the water and read and watch the fish.
