Above it All - Highest rental house on the hill!

This house, at 35 Janss Lane, is 5 homes from the very top of Wood Road, which runs up the center of the mountain. Our view incluces everything from Daly Peak to Sam's Knob, Big Burn, the Cirque, High Alpine and Elk Camp. The ski access takes you to the bottom of the SECOND lift, Coney Glade, letting you avoid all the crowds at the bottom of the mountain. With a week ski pass and groceries, you would enjoy incredible privacy - or you could go to Aspen and schmooze with the glitteratti. Easy ski-in access is just indirect enough to preserve your privacy - there are three alternatives to ski or walk out.

Four bedrooms with en-suite baths, all with mountain views - two kings, one twin, one quad. Sleeps 10. Hot tub accommodates 8 or more. Wireless high speed internet; all the usual TV and audio equipment. Weber gas grill on the deck.

The house was great. Location can’t be beat. Views are amazing. We stayed in a few nights and enjoyed cooking in the well stocked kitchen. We will stay here again next time we’re in Snowmass.

Stellar ski vacation

Really enjoyed our stay. You definitely are one of the highest houses on the mountain. The hot tub gives you a stellar view of the resort. The host was super responsive and very helpful.

Family ski vacation

Exactly as advertised, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and made for easy meal prep. The location was unbeatable which made for a relaxing family ski vacation. Kids and adults were all happy. Would definitely rent again.

Fun stay in snowmass

Carol was a pleasure to work with. I had to email her on several occasions and she always responded quickly. The views from the house were spectacular. The house was well equipped. My only suggestion is have better soap for the bathrooms or inform guests up front to bring their own. The little bars were of no use. We bought our own. The ski in is ok if there is snow on the road. The ski out is quite an uphill climb, but better than waiting on a bus!😎

Cozy home, ideally located!

Pulling into the beautiful home on Wood Rd (far up the Snowmass Mountain), we knew we were in for a wonderful treat. Not only is the home perfectly located for ski in-ski out, it’s a short drive to the base village and the mall. Our stay met all of our expectations—clean, convenient, welcoming, and packed with comfort. It’s clear to me that the owners love to enjoy the home themselves and open it up to guests so they can enjoy it too. We had a group of 8 and plenty of room to spread out. The slope side hot tub was the perfect place to recover from a long day of skiing. The wood burning fireplace ensured we could bask in the comfort of a hot fire during the cold nights. The large kitchen brought the family together but the four bedrooms, primary living room and secondary living room provided plenty of solitude as the evenings concluded. We look forward to returning.

Family Ski Trip

The 35 Janss home is a great place for a family ski vacation. From the time you walk in you feel like you're at home! The ski in / ski out access allows everyone to be on their own schedule if they like - from the early risers who skin up the mountain to the people taking lessons, and the all day skiers. A quick easy run to the Village Express lift and you're off for the day. The accommodations are top notch. A very well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, fireplace that works well, and the views are second to none. This was our second time renting the home and we'll be back.

Great Stay!

Property was amazing! Great location - ski down through the woods out the back of the house to the trail and back along the road to the front of the house. Kitchen is well equipped, hot tub was clean & spacious, great sleeping accommodations, and shared spaces. Only note is that the pull out couch in the basement wasn't all that comfortable for sleeping. Would definitely stay again, big thanks to Carol!

Another wonderful trip

This trip was our second to this home in Snowmass. It is a favorite of everyone, with easy access to the slopes, a big kitchen for cooking and a very comfortable great room. We recommend this home without reservation.

AMAZING STAY..Top of the world

This is one of best places you can stay on Snowmass mountains. Everything went smoothly from the check-in, communication with the host, to check-out. We would have stay longer as the times went by so quick with you have loads of fun. It is a fantastic place with great views of the slope and mountains. Easy access, ski-in, ski out, the fireplace, and the hot tub, these are all make your vacation heaven! We had a blast and will be back from more.

Perfect ski house for two families

We were two families of five with teenage kids. Bedrooms were a perfect setup. We cooked every night and kitchen was well equipped. Loved the big dining room table where we enjoyed dinners and games after a day of skiing. The hot tub was a good size and high quality (strong jets and maintained temp). Easy to ski into and out just up the road. We used the dial a shuttle sometimes and had to wait at most 10 minutes. Carol was very responsive. We are already planning our next stay here and can’t wait to go back.

Great vacation house!

This house was perfect for our group - 3 couples and 4 kids. Great location, from the hot tub we could watch bears march across the ski slopes across the mountain. The kitchen was very well equipped and we cooked at home almost every night. The pictures really do not do the house justice. The owner was very responsive. All in all a great experience and we look forward to returning!

Beautiful Paradise

It’s our 4th summer vacation in Snowmass and our first time staying at Carol’s beautiful home. She is a text away with any questions and so nice!! It was the perfect home for our group ...spacious.. and cozy al in one. You are close to hiking trails, Aspen and everything beautiful. You know it’d a great vacay when you don’t want to leave ❤️

Great Mountain Home

We spent 8 nights at this fantastic home. Family of 5 plus our small dog (the property owner made an exception for us). Very clean, beautiful views, excellent neighborhood located close to the top of the mountain. Very relaxing home, lots of privacy with a very nice mountain feel, but not isolated. The house has a very good layout and good flow. The kitchen, dining room and living room are on one level and are well coordinated. We hiked, fished, biked and went whitewater rafting. Nothing was too far away. Aspen is only a beautiful 20-25 minute drive away via Owl Creek Road. The airport is 15-20 minutes away. Wildlife everywhere. Countless deer, elk, some foxes and coyotes. We even saw a big brown bear (black bear species) a block away from the house on the way to dinner one early evening. We got very close to it and took a video. The property owner is extremely friendly, helpful and communicates openly about any questions you may have or suggestions you may seek about restaurants, outdoor activities, etc. The property manager was also very responsive. Reasonable price too. I think the same house in Aspen would cost 2-3 times as much. 5 star! We look forward to returning some day.

My husband and I, both physicians, bought this lot in 12 hours sight unseen when my brother, a local real estate agent, called to tell us that it had gone on the market. I grew up in the Aspen area, and knew how special this lane is. Even though we were not thinking retirement, both of our sons ended up going to college in the west, and this home that we built quickly became our favorite holiday haven. Skiing, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, pack trips through the mountains, summer concerts - We love it all.

For years we considered buying, because our family didn't fit well into my brother's or my mother's home. Not until the perfect lot became available did we consider buying and building. We look down at the valley AND up at the ski hill - on a special little ridge off Wood Road, where several of the very first homes were built. (Mr. Janss was the original developer of Snowmass.) With binoculars, you can see this house from every high point on the mountain.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The house is spacious and every bedroom has a view. The two 'kids'' rooms - 6 twin beds in two rooms with intervening rumpus area - are separated from the 'adult' king bedrooms by a whole floor, allowing privacy. The hot tub is on the lowest level with the kids rooms. The large deck is off the living-dining room kitchen. The steam shower and the Jacuzzi, inside, are good for tired bones, as well. The fully appointed kitchen makes large meals for many people an easy assignment. We have every book you never read in high school, as well as best sellers, thrillers and beach trash. And we have a piano.
