Designed by iconic architect Albert Frey in 1946, this fabulous desert retreat was completely remodeled in 2009. Featuring an open floor plan with plenty of indoor/outdoor space to enjoy Palm Springs' idyllic lifestyle, this beautiful home has many custom features such as polished concrete floors, inset stainless steel crown molding, a stacked slate wall in the dining room, a powder room with a curved tile wall underneath a stainless steel counter, lights built into the wall for an amazing modern minimalist effect, beautiful modern mosaic tiles throughout the bathrooms, Italian sinks and fixtures, a new custom kitchen with stainless steel appliances, plenty of pots/pans/utensils/accessories, a large kitchen island with bar seating, and a dining room table made from a real bowling alley lane! The living room is an entertainment center with a 65in LCD flat screen TV, built-in surround sound, HD satellite, DVD player, a stereo with MP3 hookup and indoor/outdoor speakers throughout the public spaces, including poolside!

A completely private backyard allows you to relax in the saltwater pool (no chlorine!), play horseshoes or basketball on your private court, and enjoy incredible mountain views from multiple seating areas. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with a BBQ, fire-red granite countertop, oven and refrigerator.

The master suite is in its own wing, opening to the pool and mountain views, and has a king size bed, seating area with a large sofa, 60' LCD TV with surround sound HD satellite and a DVD player, its own stereo system, a walk-in closet and a custom bathroom with its own television, integrated stereo sound, double Tsunami sinks, Italian fixtures, and a walk-in shower with 3 shower heads and a huge custom window for light and privacy!

There are three guest bedrooms and a guest bath on the other side of the house, the front room has a kind bed, the middle guest room has a queen size bed and the 3rd guest room has a double bed. The guest bedrooms have LCD TV's with HD satellite and DVD players.

Amazing house - absolutely perfect for our group of 7 adults! Very well stocked, lots of amenities, ample space. Location is unbeatable - right next to downtown.. Pretty much walkable, and in a quiet neighborhood - even has an Albertsons at barely 4 mins drive! We didn't use the pool or jacuzzi, but they seemed great! The kids loved the basketball hoop and the nice sized backyard.Highest recommendation possible!

The perfect place for four older school friends. It was clean and well maintained. We didnā€™t use the hot tub but got in the pool for some water aerobics We didnā€™t have the pool heated but it was fine for our needs. It is centrally located to everything you would want to do in Palm Springs We had a wonderful and relaxing stay here and would definitely book again.

Great location!

This property is very close to downtown in a quiet neighborhood adjacent to The Movie Colony. The house was very clean and comfortable. It has a very nice yard with a large pool and half-court basketball area on a concrete slab. We would stay there again.

Wonderful place for a family gathering.

The space worked very well for our family of 8 people, including two children. It was spacious, attractive, and in a good location for easy access to the city. The home was well suited for our needs, including a heated swimming pool with pool toys, a well-equipped kitchen, and places for our family to gather. The host was attentive to our needs, easy to contact, and responded quickly and kindly. I recommend this home to anyone looking for a large and beautiful place. My grandchildren loved the pool. My husband wrote poetry with a view of the mountains, and we celebrated family dinners around the large table. This place is a winner.

A wonderful place to stay!

We spent 4 weeks at this super cool Albert Frey house (it really is super cool!), and we loved every minute. So many reasons: roomy, clean, comfortable, well-equipped, large yard, new hot tub, lovely pool, great for our pet, awesome neighborhood. The owner is very responsive. All this and then some unique & special touches too: basketball & hoop, horseshoes, walking distance to Ruth Hardy park (dog heaven, nice for their people too) *and* downtown, quiet neighborhood, lovely mountain view, large TVā€™s for movie nights in living room *and* master, and some mornings we were greeted by (the same) 2 ducks grazing in the front yard. The dog was so happy she didnā€™t even notice them! Itā€™s truly a magical place & we canā€™t wait to come back!

Fabulous house

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was great, spacious and comfortable for our large family of 6. Kitchen was well equipped, comfortable beds, plenty of towels. We didnā€™t really use the pool and only took one dip in the hot tub cause of a busy agenda - we were in town for a wedding - but it was great to have the option. Loved the ambience and comfortably of the house and location.

The home is as advertised, better than. It was well situated, near downtown and the Aerial Tramway. The kitchen was well appointed, great backyard with pool, hot tub, and BB court. Nice quiet neighborhood. Weā€™d love to plan a return stay.

This VRBO property has everything for a great getaway. Four seniors in town to play golf with 40 year's friends from SFO & SEA areas. Love the SPA hot tub. Master suite is so roomy. Property managers responded without delay to minor issues. Thanks for the attention to detail, your guests can expect the same. Nice experience.

The backyard had a nice pool and hot tub. The primary bedroom was huge, had a big screen tv and a nice bathroom. The kitchen, dining room and living room were large. We liked being close to town.

Relaxing visit

Five of us spent 9 wonderful days in this lovely house. The owner was fantastic to deal with. All communication was responded to quickly. The few issues we had while in residence were dealt with immediately. This house is the only house we have rented in Palm Springs that had more than enough pool and yard furniture. For the first time there were lounges equal to the number of people the house slept! Bravo to the owner. Kitchen was nicely stocked but the ice maker only worked sporadically. Having 2 Ā½ bathrooms was appreciated by the five adults. The hot tub was great as was the pool and firepit. There were three umbrellas available but there was natural shade after 1pm for our February stay. We were able to control the temperature in the house. There are plenty of towels and paper goods. Room for improvement would be the beds which everyone agreed were too soft. And finally as a group of readers we felt the lighting in the living room could be improved.
