Whether you have come to enjoy full days of boating, skiing, or simply relaxing, this tranquil escape is the perfect home base. Plus, you may find it hard to venture out with the private hot tub awaiting you right outside to escape soak sore ski legs after a day on the slopes.

Inside, you will be spoiled by the A-frame architecture, Moorish details, original art throughout, and custom drapery. With a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, the great room is flooded with natural light and is home to the dining area, living room, and billiards room! Indulge in some friendly competition or cozy up on the plush sofa as you warm up by the wood-burning stove and watch your favorite show on the TV. When everyone builds up an appetite, the well-equipped kitchen boasts doubles ovens, stainless steel appliances, eclectic tile, a gas range, and a Nespresso machine, so the chef of the group will feel right at home. Plus, the loft will be just the place for the kiddos to escape.

We had a very poor experience with this Vrbo property managed by Vacasa, and I want to share our feedback so other families can make an informed decision.No flexibility or consideration during road closures:The summit roads were closed due to weather, which made it impossible for us to reach the property on time. While I understand that weather is unpredictable, there was absolutely no consideration or partial refund offered, even though we were forced to stay an extra night in Sacramento through no fault of our own. A bit of empathy or flexibility would have gone a long way.Serious safety issue that was ignored:A large Texas longhorn wall décor fell suddenly inside the home. This could have resulted in a major tragedy, as our kids were playing directly underneath it moments earlier. When we reported this extremely serious safety issue, there was no acknowledgment, apology, or follow-up from Vacasa. This was honestly the most concerning part of our stay.Missing basic amenities:The bathroom did not have body wash or enough towels for our family. The kitchen was missing basic items like a scrubber and detergent to wash utensils. These are very basic expectationsRigid checkout policy with no flexibility:Checkout was strictly enforced at 10:00 AM, with no option to extend even by an hour or two. Given the weather disruptions and overall circumstances, some flexibility would have been appreciated.We would not stay at a Vacasa-managed property again and do not recommend t

House is nice and very accommodating for 6-8 people, close to stores and the lake. However their some pipes in the wall leaking slowly for months maybe and the downstair bedroom and bathroom are covered in Mold. until this gets cleaned up i do not suggest renting this place. the hot tubs was unusable - half full and smelt like pond.

Wonderful weekend

We had a beautiful stay at this home. We had great laughs over the pool table and the hikes at the lake were magical. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and basic needs for cooking and the beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean.

Has potential to be a great home.

The layout, style, and location of this house is fine. However it needs a full deep clean both inside & out for me to ever reserve it again or recommend to anyone. The house felt dirty & dusty from the moment I walked in. First, there is no AC despite the amenities stating “thermostat” under “heating & cooling”. There are fans around the house but most of the windows don’t have screens so it’s up to you if you want to open the windows and let bugs/critters in. A lot of the windows were covered with spiderwebs and dead bugs (I have photos of this). Second, the bathrooms need some attention such as tubs that don’t drain and body wash bottles that were empty in all bathrooms. Third, the carpet on the stairs / upstairs had exposed nails that kept stabbing our feet when walking on it. Fourth, the primary bedroom sheets smelled like they sat in a washer for a week. They smelled like mildew and the comforter had stains on it. There was also red hair on the sheets upon arriving. Fifth, the battery for the front door lock died on our second day. We couldn’t get back into the house until we tried the side door in the kitchen. Thankfully it was open and then we had to leave it unlocked when we went out for the day otherwise we wouldn’t have access back into the house. Sixth, some weird paintings/pictures of people all around the home. Creepy little girl looking down directly onto the primary bed. Lastly, there are no trash bags provided and when I texted Vacasa they said we had to buy our own. We have to buy a whole box of trash bags for a 3 night stay?? The bear box at the driveway was completely full from the previous stay so we actually had nowhere to put the trash. TLDR, would not really recommend. Too many issues in a rental home and there are tons of other options in the area.

Great Property

The property had a really nice living room with a great pool table and a big smart TV. Bedrooms and beds were comfortable and the spa was nice. The kitchen is a little on the small side but it was fine. My only complaint was that there was no AC…it wasn’t listed on the amenities for the property so that’s my fault, but it got pretty warm in the house during the day and several of the window and doors didn’t have screens so we were dealing with bugs in the house throughout the evening and the night. Overall a great property.

Excellent Property!

We were on our annual boys ski trip and this place was perfect. House had plenty of sleeping option, well appointed kitchen, great pool table, amazing living room, hot tub and everything a group could want for an amazing week in the mountains. Thank you so much for hosting us we will be back soon!

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money. This house was full of spide webs, mice poop and you can tell that no one rented it out for a long time. At night mice came to nimble on our food that was in the kitchen. Mice poop was everywhere in the kitchen and downstairs bedroom. Under beds no one cleaned for a while. Jacuzzi wouldn't hold the water temperature when we used it. Oven door would not fully open unless you open the back door that leads to outside backyard area. Its not safe! I rented houses every winter for more then 13 years, this was one of the worst ones. Veryy disappointed 😞. Don't waste your money and time- its not worth it!!!

Skiing and n Tahoe

Our party of 6 stayed at the chalet and were mainly very happy. The biggest challenge we faced was when the snow dumped on the area. While we were driving a Four wheel drive vehicle (with chains) we were still unable to get up the inclined driveway. Someone came and plowed but it was still too icy. As the snow continued, There was no shovel provided and one small bag of salt. We had to wheel 7 suitcases down to the bottom of the driveway. Two people in our party took pretty good falls. Otherwise, the property was as described. Had a bit of a funky vibe, but it worked for us. I would stay again, but maybe not in the winter because of the driveway situation.

Beautiful place to stay.

Warm and inviting decor made this house a great place for our family to stay during the holiday. Super comfy sofa, great linens, cozy sitting spots and room to move. Kitchen pot/ pan stock was a little lacking but we made it work.

An Oasis of Peace

I truly loved the feeling of zen that came over me as I entered this home. The weather was quite cold during my stay so the fireplace added so much to the overall feeling of warmth and intimacy especially as we curled up on the large sofa to watch movies. The kitchen was stocked well with the basic cooking ingredients so we were able to make most of our meals hassle-free. I didn't get a chance to use the outdoor hot tub or pool table but know my college-aged kids would have taken full advantage of them with joy. I only wish we were able to extend our stay but know that if we come back this way we would definitely stay at the Chalet in a heartbeat.

Great Location

The house was good. It definitely has its own character. It has a funky stairwell that leads to a private deck. The hot tub was gross. We paid a fee to use it and it was bad. However, I alerted the property management and they were there within an hour! They emptied it and filled it back up with clean water. So I felt they took care of it. The oven looked brand new, but it did not work. I have to admit I did not report it because we did not attempt to use it until days into our stay. They had a panini grill that served your needs. We had a great weekend at the house.

We had such a relaxing time in this home. The way they have styled it and the furniture they selected was very thoughtful and stylish. We had intended to leave the house more and go sight seeing, but chose to stay in often to enjoy this sanctuary.

The cabin was awesome in terms of space, and beauty. It was a little dated, but overall it was a nice place to call home for 5 nights. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table. We wish there were handrails by the stairs to the second floor, and more window screens for upstairs windows so they could stay open in the evening. Otherwise, we would come back for sure.
