Built in 1860, this historic Arcata home, once home to author Brett Hart, has been newly remodeled and updated. This lovely rental is located on the first floor and features a full kitchen, small dining table, and a comfortable, sunlit living area warmed by a gas fireplace. Outside, enjoy the shared, enclosed, grassy backyard with outdoor seating, a gas BBQ, and even a Ping-Pong table. Guests of this rental will also enjoy access to a shared, on-site sauna & outdoor hot tub.

The family dog is welcome to join you here (1 dog max, $18 pet fee applies)
1 40 AMP quick charge EV charger in driveway (shared with triplex) $1 per 10 miles honor system

Parking Notes: We cannot guarantee a spot in the driveway as they are shared between guests of all three units on a first come, first served basis. Ample street parking is available for guest use. On 10th Street, you can park right in front of the home between 4:00pm - 10:00am the following morning. Outside of these hours, there is a two-hour limit for street parking spots. There is no time limit across the street, so guests can park there anytime.
Guest Entry Instructions: This rental utilizes an E-lock, a digital lock that requires a unique code to enter.

We had a great stay. Perfect location. The only reason I didnāt give 5 stars is because the host fees were a little steep. It doubled the cost of the rental. Other rentalsā host fees are lower. But the host was very generous to allow us to bring two dogs, so that was another bonus that we appreciated. I would definitely recommend this rental.

Our unit was exactly what we needed - two bedrooms with two very comfortable beds, a well-appointed kitchen, a cozy gas fireplace. The location was amazing - walking distance to the town square with its shops, restaurants, and Saturday Market. Minutes from Cal Poly Humboldt, the Arcata Marsh (amazing free tour), redwoods, the bay and the ocean. A hop/skip/jump to Eureka or Trinidad. Will definitely book again!

This is a cozy place and very close to downtown, making it an easy walk. You are very close to two markets, plenty of eateries and some places with live music. The house is appointed with all the necessities, the beds are comfortable, and it is best for 2-4 people. The kitchen is easy to cook in, the cockery and cutlery fit the basics (could use a bit more selection), if youāre a coffee drinker there is just a drip coffee machine. Note: the water is very good. There is an auto kettle, so if you bring a Moka Pot or French Press youāre set. There is a selection of bagged teas and a container of ground coffee, plus the other cooking basics. As for the decor, cozy and snug. The gas fire is delightful and charming to ait by and chat the night away.

Great location just a block from the plaza. Well stocked and very clean. The hot tub and sauna were a bonus

Perfect for us
Weāve stayed here twice for Thanksgiving with family and our dog. Both were excellent stays. Weād stay there again definitely. Great quiet comfortable location within easy walking to the Plaza.

This is our second time staying at The Drift and we have stayed at The Loft three times. We love this property. It is so clean and beautiful. It has a calming vibe. I love getting up early and having coffee out on the porch. I love how we can just park our car at the residence and just walk into town. Definitely always want to stay here when we visit Arcata.

Arcata downtown drift
