Nice and Quiet

We decided to shorten our stay due to the weather; however, this is a very nice property with lots of privacy. Very clean and great features.

Excellent Beach Front Escape

My family and I spent a week on Maya beach and loved every moment. Maya beach is nicely situated a short drive from Placencia, where most of the food and activity is, but is far away up the road that the beaches are cleaner, quieter, and more peaceful. The cornhole, sea kayaks, SUPs, and other gear already stocked in the house made our stay easy and memorable.

Nice house on the beach. Comfortable but nothing fancy. Very safe area with lots of good places to eat a short walk down the beach or pizza right across the street. Location was great for day trips.

Perfectly Private Paradise!

If you have ever dreamed of relaxing on your own private beach, Seagrape will fit the bill. Of course, the added bonus is having all that you need in the way of creature comforts at your disposal. Not only is the Seagrape equipped with all your beach vacation needs to sail smoothly through any length of stay, the attentive and sweet caretakers, Martin and Diana, assist with any additional request from directions, suggestions and connections to services and activities. The area restarants have offered food choices and service like no other vacation location we have visited. The Belizian people are so welcoming and warm. We will certainly book again and maybe bring the whole family!

Great Spot to Rest and Recharge.

My husband and 15 year old daughter spent 14 night at Seagrape over Christmas and New Years. The property was as described and provided everything we needed for our vacation. A dew hiccups happened during our stay but we’re quickly resolved by the concierge service who were in constant touch to see if we needed anything. Placencia is a great base location to explore other areas of Belize which we did. You do need a car if staging here but there are some fantastic resort restaurants and a fantastic bakery within 700-1000 yards of the house. Only advice to homeowners is to provide a welcome sheet to explain where extra towels, Wi-Fi password (was not same as in pre welcome email) and other info such as how the water needs to be turned on for outdoor shower and foot rise garbage pick up and helpful things about the house. We eventually found out ourselves but that wpuls be a helpful resource for others. We had a great time with lots of memories. Thank you.

Not what I expected

We had an OK stay here in April but there were a lot of things that we struggled with at this house and I wish I had booked somewhere else. For one, it was really hot this time of year and there is no AC unit. The house is really highly rated so I was surprised at how much shabbier the house was than I was expecting. Biggest cons: The mattresses were really old and REALLY squeaky. The twin mattresses are pretty bad and I couldn’t sleep on it. The power turned off in the neighborhood so we were also scorching hot and there is no central AC unit. It’s not their fault but there is no generator. We ran out of toilet paper and it took a while to get more which is rough when you have a big group because there were no extra rolls at the house. You also have to wash your own bath towels because there are no extra. Pros: Pretty deck and dock to get into the water. Laundry machines. Next to Maya Beach Hotel where we walked to get breakfast everyday.

Great private getaway

Our family spent a week at Seagrape. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, the kitchen was well equipped for making meals and the bedrooms are air conditioned. We appreciated having beach towels so we didn’t need to pack them. We loved hearing the ocean from the house and spent lots of our time at the hose outside on the deck or swinging from the hammocks on the dock. The water is shallow for a long ways and is fairly calm. We enjoyed just relaxing in the water. The property manager, Jack, was responsive and gave us great suggestions and contacts for excursions. I highly recommend staying here!

Lovely home!

A great location in quiet Maya Beach, convenient to everything but not in the thick of tourist crowds. We loved the giant deck, the swing bed, the dock and palapa, and the open, airy home. Terrific beach with nice shade from palms and seagrape, use of a ton of water toys. Martin and Diana were incredibly sweet and helpful. We highly recommend and would love to return!

Amazing family vacation!!!

We were so lucky to find Seagrape Escape! The property was perfect for the 5 of us, my husband , myself and 3 teenagers. We spent our mornings having breakfast on the dock or screened in porch followed by some paddle boarding and kayaking before we went off on our excursions to the village and tours. The caretakers Diana and Martin gave us excellent advice about tour companies and places to shop in the village. At the end of the day we usually ended up back on the dock or deck for some hammock lying (the swing bed was a huge hit with everyone) a beer and a swim before dinner. The kitchen had plenty of supplies to make a home cooked meal and the grill was perfect for grilling the lobster that we purchased right off the boat earlier that day. On nights we were too tired to cook the Maya Beach Bistro and Bowling alley came to our rescue! Because we chose August to visit Belize the weather was pretty warm but usually there was a nice breeze off the water and the AC units in the bedrooms made them super comfortable to sleep in. This was our first trip to Central America and we cannot wait to get back! The Seagrape Escape was amazing!!!

Staying at the lovely Seagrape Escape will make returning to "real life" almost impossible!

The Seagrape Escape truly made our first trip to Belize an UnBelizeable experience! During our stay, we were able to take advantage of an, almost, private beach and dock to enjoy the warm Belizean waters during the day and sitt under a blanket of stars at night. Additionally, the huge screened-in porch was the place where we enjoyed a morning cup of coffee (with, of course, Belizean coffee liquor and Baileys) to watch the gorgeous sunrises or simply rock in the bed-swing and listen to the beautiful thunderstorms. Additionally, the home is wonderfully kept with two onsite caretakers as well as an offsite owner/property manager that seems to not only ensure the property is rentable but, more importantly, ensure the Seagrape Escape feels like you are renting a vacation HOME. The Seagrape Escape provides all the amenities one would need from fresh towels, to all the kitchen accessories you need, to all the beach toys you need, and (because it's worth mentioning twice) an, essentially, private beach and dock to enjoy. I say "essentially" because the beach and dock are not actually private however, due to their perfect location on Placencia, there were few, if any, people who would walk by. If you are in need of the perfect getaway vacation home in Belize, look no further than the Seagrape Escape. However, and as the title of this review states, beware because, once you stay here it is nearly impossible to return to “regular life”. Enjoy!

Fantastic in every way!!!

Wonderful home in the perfect location, super private yet close to downtown Placencia. The house is well appointed, and has everything you’ll need for your stay in Belize. We really appreciated the paddle boards and kayak, and the covered pavilion over the water and the screened in porch were the main attractions! We could not get enough of the beautiful views and cool ocean breeze. Martin & Diana were so helpful, and made us feel safe and welcome. If you are looking for a laid back, relaxing stay in Belize, look no farther than Sea Grape Escape. It is truly one of a kind!!

Absolutely beautiful!

Relaxing, private, and beautiful! This place has it all. It is walking distance to restaurants, bowling, and pools with swim up bars, but felt private and homey at the same time. My husband and I joked that the pavilion over the water would have been just fine for us, if we had a cooler and a sleeping bag. It is peaceful and perfect! The island in the distance is a perfect place to kayak to, and explore the jungle root system, full of birds. We took the paddle boards up and down the coast, stopping at various lunch spots and pool areas. Although it was a the rainy season, the HUGE screened in porch with amazing bed swing provided us with the most soothing afternoon naps while listening to the raindrops fall. Safe, affordable, clean...I will stay here again!

Wonderful! The consummate beach house!!

This was the perfect beach house for both days of relaxing on the beach and serving as a launchpad as we enjoyed many of the adventures of Belize. The wide screened in porch lets you relax and gather at any time of day with the comfort of the ocean breeze. The house was designed for comfort, relaxing and real use while being clean and up to date. What a treat!

FANTASTIC!

Such a great trip! We loved the screened-in porch, the SUP's, well stocked kitchen. This is the beach house that beats out all other beach houses! I hope we can come back soon. Highly recommend!
