The Hummingbird house was built on Placencia Caye a Caribbean island to enjoy the relaxing ocean breeze and serene views. It’s conveniently located a 3 minute boat ride from the center of Placencia Village. Complimentary WIFI and boat transportations between the house and the village is provided 24/7 for guests. House is suitable for kids 10 and older and should be swimmers.

The Hummingbird house is a large, fully furnished, 3 bedroom-2.5 bathroom house. Its elegant and modern design features various Belizean hardwoods and a spacious floor plan. The entrance leads to a bright foyer, bathroom and large covered patio, perfect napping in the shade. A curved staircase takes you to the upstairs living area where you are met with high ceilings expansive ocean views. The ocean facing interior walls are constructed of tall sliding glass panels and can be open to extend the living area outside and allow a cooling breeze. The balcony wraps around the house, providing breathtaking views over the lush coconut trees. The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining room and living room are furnished with local, artisan-built wood doors, windows, cabinetry and furniture. South facing you'll find two bedrooms, one if which has french doors that open to the balcony. North facing is the master suite, which has an upscale bathroom and outdoor shower. This bedroom also has balcony access. The private dock overlooks the ocean and harbor. Our onsite caretaker will be happy to ferry you to and from Placencia Village. He can also direct you to a variety of restaurants, bars, boutiques and outdoor activities to enjoy.

What to expect during your stay?
You will need to arrange pick up at airport or book with local airlines to Placencia (Maya Island Air or Tropic Island Air).
Taxis will be waiting in Placencia to take you to the main dock for Hummingbird House boat transportation to the island.

Excellent property and host. Edwin and his family were great- loved them all. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. The sea breeze was wonderful in the evenings. Bring plenty of bug spray and sunscreen. No AC but that is part of the experience.

Hummingbird House was an excellent home base for our Placencia stay in April of 2026. The house is even more beautiful than the online pics! We had lazy days where we just enjoyed lounging at the house and a few adventure days that make Belize so amazing to visit. The house was perfect!

Our second year in a row and already booked next year. The house is exactly as described. The pictures don’t do the west facing sunset views justice. Edwin (caretaker) and his family are great. Highly recommend just don’t take our week.

Edwin and family were very sweet and attentive as needed. Great layout for the house and really enjoyed the large covered outdoor area. The outdoor shower off the master bedroom was thoroughly enjoyed after a long day on and in the water. For those wishing to kick back and relax, Hummingbird is a place you will enjoy just a very short boat ride from Placencia pier.

The caretaker and his family were lovely! The property is beautiful, but could use some deep cleaning (dirty light switches, grimy doors where people’s hands have been). We saw some bugs, which is to be expected in a home that is always open to the outdoors. Amazing location.

The location is unique and right on the water. The home is impressive with large common areas, paddle boards and kayaks to use. Yes, Edwin, the caretaker, is great but you are dependent on him to take you into town if you need anything. Communication was fine but you have to have WhatsApp to message Edwin. It needs to be pointed out that this house has NO AIR CONDITIONING. You count on fans and sea breezes for cooling, which, when it's 90 degrees out, is not great. The other thing I think should be mentioned is that there are no supplies provided in the kitchen. There are pots and pans and all appliances but nothing else, not even salt or pepper. I know there was no indication that anything was going to be supplied but we would have shopped a little more thoroughly if we knew there was absolutely nothing. While towels are provided, there is neither soap nor shampoo available for the showers or sinks. Dish soap was provided. I'm only trying to make people aware so they aren't surprised like we were in certain respects. Belize is lovely and we would definitely come back in the future.

No complaints about the hummingbird house — it’s a lovely home and Edwin and his family are great people. We had an excellent time and would recommend to anyone looking for a spot in placencia that feels a little separate from the busyness of town!

Great stay!

This was a great place! Tom was very responsive when I had a question. Edwin, the property manager, and his family were delightful and he always responded quickly when we needed a ride. The view from the upper deck was too perfect. It is a perfect place to unwind and relax. In fact we are coming back next year!

The house was even more beautiful in person, and we found our time so restful. Beautiful views, loved sitting out on the dock/pier, taking the kayaks and paddle boards out, and the host Edwin and his family are very sweet and very helpful. We loved our time at the Hummingbird house!! God bless!!

Beautiful home in idyllic setting

Hummingbird House is simply stunning with open plan living and ample space for socialising. The views are spectacular and Edwin, the caretaker, is very helpful and informative and boat trips to the beach and to the mainland for dinner makes the stay even more special.

Amazing!!

We stayed at Hummingbird House for 10 days. The property is meticulously maintained; Edwin and his family are so accommodating and wonderful; sunrises and sunsets are incredible; tour guides picked us up at the house and delivered us back afterward; Edwin had great recommendations for tours and restaurants. It was overall a wonderful trip!!!

Perfect Paradise

The house is as advertised, large, spacious and beautiful. It is on Placencia Caye but the caretaker, Edwin, is always available to take you to the main pier. The house is fun with some quirky features like the outdoor shower off the master bedroom. All in all it’s terrific and we will stay here again.

Nothing Ho-hum About Hummingbird House

From the moment we were greeted at the municipal pier by Edwin & his wife, until we said our goodbyes, our entire stay was wonderful! The house is gorgeous with huge, expansive views, both front and back, of water, boats, and the village. We loved floating, swimming, and paddleboarding off the dock, where we saw tons of ocean life! The entire stay was like a dream, and Edwin & family helped us in every way to enjoy our stay in Placencia.
