House was GREAT! Clean & spacious. Out back was is where we spent a lot of time unwinding. We were down (both trips) for work, so having the extra space for our crew was perfect. Highly recommend. Hopefully the next visit will be for vacation rather than work to enjoy it more!

The house had a beautiful view of the water and the nice homes across the lake. The outdoor space was incredible with all sorts of water toys. I enjoyed using the new griddle while watching the kids be kids. Fishing wasnā€™t great, but the kids had a good time reeling in some small pan fish. We would definitely stay at Opaā€™s Haus again!

Our family group included folks from 14-82 and there was something for everyone! We appreciated plenty of clean, comfy beds, a kitchen large enough for our meal spreads and however many cooks wanted to be in the kitchen even though the Blackstone outside was our favorite. The lake was lovely but a little busy (as one should expect on a lovely fall weekend) but not so busy that our big ol group could enjoy swimming and water play. This little lake has a couple of lovely coves to be explored and we did so using the provided kayaks, paddle boards and canoe. By the end of the weekend, our group had taken a vote and decided this should be our annual spot. Thank you, Gaby and Chad!

If youā€™re looking for a large beautiful lake home with lots of activities for the whole family this is it! Aside from it being right on the water, itā€™s also conveniently located not too far from Gruene! The water is a great level and we felt very safe with our young kids swimming near the dock, the dock has stairs which are a bonus! The kayaks, canoe, and water toys make this place worth every penny. Thereā€™s lots to do outside and inside, plenty of seating, amazing views, and the kitchen is fully stocked with lots of cooking supplies! Overall we would definitely bring our family back and the hosts are top notch.

Big Beautiful River House

Our entire family of 10 stayed here for Texas State graduation. Perfect location just outside of New Braunfels to get away from the city bustle. Quiet neighborhood and beautiful river frontage. Free entertainment just watching the boats off the huge back porch. Lots of family friendly games and activities. Hosts were communicative and responded to questions immediately. We are going back again next year for another graduation. We canā€™t wait to stay here again.

Fun Easter weekend!

Family vacay

I booked this stay for a weekend family vacation for 10 of us. The house was very spacious, had plenty of supplies needed for cooking, and lots of activities for the outdoor area. We spent most of our time enjoying the lake, roasting s'more's by the fire pit, and grilling on the patio. The cons of the stay would be the cleanliness of the home and outdoor area. There were cobwebs in the house, all over the patio furniture and door ways. The backyard area has huge potential if it was upkept better- a tree covered in cobwebs, poison ivy by the shed, and yellowjacket nests on the covered boat dock. This stay has great potential and hope this feedback helps.

Girls weekend

Great house for a great girls weekend. We had 8 adults- everyone had a comfy bed, plenty of space to spread out. Great kitchen area for everyone to be working in with a huge island. We enjoyed the large covered patio with plenty of seating. The proximity to the water is perfect- just a very short walk to get in and float. Short drive into NB was a bonus too. Chad and Gaby responded quickly to any questions we had. I definitely would recommend Opas Haus and we would love to come back!

Great place for a large group

We enjoyed ourselves quite a lot. The space was good with enough amenities to cook meals there for our group. The patio was amazing, right on the water. Most of everything was comfortable, but there were a few things that probably need to be updated. The Queen bed in the secondary bedroom with ensuite bathroom has a pretty big dip in the center, making it uncomfortable to sleep in. Another of the bedrooms has a bed missing a headboard, which causes the bed to slide around a bit at night. Other than those issues, the place was great! Excellent communication with owners.

Some of the features that make Opa's Haus such a great choice are the location, privacy, lot size, water frontage and large single story family home.

While tucked away in the peaceful, tree filled neighborhood just a couple miles east of I35, it's still very close to all that New Braunfels has to offer. A simple 5 mile drive has you in the heart of all the restaurants, floating rivers, shops, Schlitterbahn, City Chute and so much more.

At the home, there is a gated entrance to the .6 acre tree filled lot. And, as a triple size lot, this home features nearly 140 feet of bulkhead waterfront with a boat slip and dock over the water.

The home itself is perfect for big family/friend groups! Wide open with large spaces for all...inside and out! There are approx 3300 sqft inside the home with 4 full bedrooms (7 beds), 3 full bathrooms, 10 foot ceilings and large open family areas in the middle....all on one level! There are two primary suites on each side of the home.

Outside features a huge shaded front year; A flat ,grassy, shaded backyard; 140 feet of bulkhead waterfront, about 1500 sqft a covered patio spaces and a deck. There is space to roam and feel comfortable no matter where you are on the property.
