Escape to The Ponderosa, a charming lakeside getaway featuring an Amish-built main cabin, a fully equipped kitchen house, and a spacious two-bed bunkhouse—all connected by an expansive wrap-around deck perfect for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the peaceful wooded surroundings. A newly added screened-in deck provides the perfect cozy spot for rainy days.

Ideal for families and small groups, this secluded retreat offers privacy, comfort, and convenient access to the lake and nearby marinas.

Clean, host was very helpful and accommodating. Deck was huge, hotub and firepit were great. Cabin felt secluded. 3 kids aged 10-16 loved having their own room separate from parents building to sleep in. Would recommend and would love to return in future.

This was the perfect place to stay with a small group of 13 year old boys. The boys loved having their own sleeping space with a tv, a firepit to cook over, and the hot tub to relax after a day of hiking & kayaking. There's plenty of places to hike around the cabins and we enjoyed both the outdoor table & screened in porch for games. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the welcome smores bags. Mammoth cave and other attractions are all within an easy 1 hour drive. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

We had a wonderful experience at the cabin and on the property. We enjoyed the screened in porch, especially during the rain. The teens enjoyed having their own space. The kitchen was well stocked. The fire pit and firewood were awesome for our evening bonfire and s’mores.

Great cabin in a cozy spot.

We liked the location for hiking/swimming. It’s really close to Nolin River lake Park and Mammoth Caves. The cabin is surrounded by trees and is very quiet either sitting by the fire pit or relaxing in the house.

Great Hangout

Very neat location. We loved the central deck where the three cabins converge. The kids loved having their own cabin, and the kitchen cabin was a fun experience. The main cabin is cozy and fun to be in. Overall a great location and would visit again!

Hidden Treasure

Great little property. We weren’t sure about the separate buildings at first, but it gave us lots of room to stretch out and a variety of activities. When we arrived, there were issues from the previous guests that hadn’t been caught, but it didn’t take long to get it fixed, and management was super helpful and responsive to messages. Overall, we had a great experience at this property.

Family Weekend

The property is really nice. The layout is different, separate kitchen building but it works nicely. Kitchen was very well equipped, outside grill was great. Loved the fire pit, coffee by the fire in the morning, drinks by the fire in the evening. Hot tub is a nice amenity. We had a really nice weekend with family.

First, this is a wonderful place for both you and your dog. Lots of area for them to run free and not bother any neighbors. Both mine enjoyed the water and the deck! I loved the peacefulness of the surrounding area but also met some of the neighbors who were very nice and helpful. You won’t be disappointed staying here.

Spring Break 2025

We stayed in this cabin to visit Mammoth Cave. It is 45minutes or so from Mammoth, so plan accordingly. We arrived on a very rainy night so that made it a little challenging since the different “houses” are not connected. We had to go outside in the rain to use the bathroom. All the other days had great weather and we enjoyed it a lot. The deck and hot tub were great after long days spent at Mammoth.

Anniversary Getaway

My wife and I and our two dogs enjoyed our visit and stay. We were actually surprised, the property looked exactly like the pictures. We enjoyed the property so much that we didn’t really leave to go anywhere else, we didn’t need to , we had everything there that we needed for a peaceful getaway! We highly recommend the Nolin Cabin to our family and friends for a peaceful family getaway. With so much to do in the area it was hard to leave the comfort of the property, the dogs truly enjoyed the walk to the lake and being able to explore the property and play. We even thought bringing the family back for a Thanksgiving get together at some point. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful place! Thomas & Tonya Levay

Quiet and private

This was a nice place to stay, very clean, cozy, and most important private. The description was a little misleading. We thought there were 2 bunk houses with beds, but one is actually the kitchen. It still worked for our group of 6, it can sleep 8, with sharing the one bunk house. No big issues, the roof on the bunk house had a leak, but no damage. Over all our stay was super comfortable. The cabin is a good 40 minutes to an hour from any tourist locations, just plan on a drive if that's what anyone is there for.

Charming cabin in the woods!

We throughly enjoyed our time at this cabin! The owners were super easy to work with, the cabins were well stocked and immaculately clean. The new additions of the hot tub, sink/water in the kitchen, and a new mattress were much appreciated :) I would highly recommend staying here for a quiet and quaint get-away!

Porch Life!

Had a great stay near Nolin Lake. The cabins were clean and comfortable. The porch is a highlight of the property and the best space for a group to gather. So happy we were blessed with magnificent weather to enjoy it. Relaxed with a fire and in the new hot tub. Communication with the host was great. Would recommend!

Nice and Quiet

This property is very well maintained. Everything was very clean and well supplied. It is very nicely secluded and quiet. Nice little walk to the lake. You cannot get into the water because it is a long drop to it and no way back up to the bank, but beautiful view. Only thing we did not care for was they are only full size beds. This was my fault for not noticing that on the profile. It is approximately 40 minutes to Mammoth Cave National Park. We had a great time.

To ensure this vision, we will continue to invest in this unique lake property in the weeks, months and years ahead and hope folks will return and visit often as the land is improved upon.

Probably the most unique property on the lake, this very secluded Amish built setup is sure to make the perfect place for great memories with family and friends. Although not directly on the water, there is a very wide and maintained PRIVATE trail down to the water. You'll also be just a few minutes from neighboring Ponderosa Marina. Nolin lake is known for its fantastic fishing, clean water and close proximity to Mammoth Cave

Private sleeping buildings, perfect for 2 families or those with teenage kids wanting their own space. The deck is MASSIVE and is sure to be the epicenter for hours of entertainment. Complete with Adirondack chairs, soft seated couches, A Tiki brand wood burning firepit, charcoal Weber grill and party lights that will keep the fun going all through the night . A covered porch has also just been added and a Hot Tub will be installed Nov 2022 (Book your fall and winter reservations before the price increases!) . If you're looking for a place that has a ton a parking, this is it! There's plenty of space for multiple cars, trailers, boats and ATVs while all being secured by a locking cattle gate at the drive entrance
