Bring the whole family (pup included) to The Dog House!
Located 5 minutes to Liberty Mountain Resort and 7 minutes to the Gettysburg Battlefields.  It's the perfect central location!
The Battlefield, golf courses, skiing, snowboarding, breweries, & wineries will definitely keep you busy! Or just kick back & relax and enjoy all The Dog House has to offer!

This cute home has 5 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Plenty of space for large groups! The backyard is fully fenced in to give you peace of mind if you have small children or pets with you. Kids can enjoy the swing set and all guests can enjoy yard games, the BBQ and the fire pit!

The inside of the house has plenty to offer as well! A fully stocked kitchen and coffee bar, TV's in every room (except the laundry room) with access to live TV and multiple streaming apps (Hulu, Netflix, MAX, PrimeVideo, Disney+, ESPN+, Peacock Premium, Youtube) and fun games for the whole family to enjoy!
There is a little doggy diner in the kitchen with a food and water bowl as well as some treats...and possibly some toys courtesy of my pup Trisha Yearwoof! A dog bed and crate for medium to large dogs is available and you can move to any place in the house you'd like.

Our family had a wonderful time at the dog house. We have four small children and a lab so finding a place to be comfortable away from home can be a challenge, but the dog house far exceeded our expectations! Our kids enjoyed their room with comfy beanbag chairs, their own TV, and games! Our infant was well supplied with two pac-n-plays, high chair, and even an infant swig on the outdoor play set! Our pup was in luxury with a dog bed, bowls, crate at the ready. Kayla was very responsive when we had a mechanical issue with the house. Kayla goes above and beyond to make you feel at home, whether it is a sweet welcome note, or the extra amenities (like the coffee bar or having a spare toothbrush on hand in case you forget one!) or all the plush blankets around the house to snuggle up with on the many comfy chairs. You won’t want to leave!

Continued to Surprise Us

This was our 3rd time at The Dog House and we are continually surprised by Kayla's hospitality. In an email conversation I mentioned my parents had mobility issues. Unexpectedly when we got to the house there were temporary bars around both tiolets and a shower chair! These were a godsend! As always the house was beautiful and clean. It met all our needs and expectations.

Short family trip

We had to make a short family trip for a solemn event. This property was perfect. We have stayed at different properties before and this has to be the best equipped I've stayed at. Kayla had provided everything we could have needed. I would definitely stay here again

Snow trip

This property was exactly as described. It is immaculately clean, comfortable, and roomy with great space for all, including the dogs. It is well stocked with anything a traveler might need and everything in the house works perfectly. The location is ideal. Kayla was extremely easy to communicate with and welcoming and provided a wealth of detailed information. This is by far the best place we've ever stayed!

WOW this place was awesome

Kayla goes above and beyond in making her guests feel at home. Her attention to the details blew our minds. From the basket of goodies to mints, and glossers in the bathrooms to the coffee nook, made our stay so much better. Sitting by the fire eating s’mores, and lights on the fence around us was a great way to finish our day’s of activities. I would recommend Kayla’s dog house without hesitation.

Truly a Home Away From Home

Kayla does an amazing job to make this "home away from home" feel like home! We would find ourselves asking, "I wonder if she has ______ " and the answer was always "YES"! Measuring cups. bug spray, scissors, tissues, complete sets of flatware, shower caps, enough outlets, etc. - She thought of everything! The decor and knick-knacks give the house such a comfortable, welcoming vibe. The house and the yard are very clean - even the interiors of the appliances are shiny clean! We felt so safe just opening the back door and letting our dog out anytime she wanted. She had a ton of fun! This is the fourth house we have rented and it is miles ahead of the others - there is no comparison. Thank you Kayla for Everything!

Best place to stay!

Quiet, relaxing, clean, easy accessible traveling, host very pleasant, loved the covered back porch, always checking to see if everything was okay. Our two dogs loved the house, playing in backyard, there was toys available for them and treats. 10 out of 10 Highly recommendable. Would come back.

Great stay

Great House Considerate Hosts

I went away with a guys trip in Gettysburg. Even a house full of dudes were very impressed with the consideration of the owners. They left snacks, the house was stocked with toiletries, towels, soap. Communication was on point. It was a very nice stay.

Charming and very well appointed

The Dog House was a perfect little girlfriend getaway for us! Kayla’s communication was clear, the house was very clean and comfortable, and the dog decor throughout was cute. She is a very thoughtful host. There was a welcome basket of snacks and the bathrooms were stocked with nice showers products and extras like cotton swabs. The kitchen was also stocked for cooking and has a coffee bar. We really enjoyed our time there and look forward to going back 🐶

Happiness

Kayla and Trisha’s house is everything your group and your dog could ever want and need. The house is totally modernized and updated. It has 2 awesome porches, a huge fenced in yard for the dogs and everything else you could want in between. The thoughtfulness that was put into the house for guests is really amazing! Amazing stay in Gettysburg

Our family, including 2 kids and 2 dogs, immensely enjoyed our stay at the Dog House! We loved all of the doggie decor and the fenced in yard for the pups and kids to play. Gettysburg Gem

Our family absolutely enjoyed our stay at The Dog House. Kayla knocked it out of the park with friendliness, cleanliness, providing a home filled with love and attention to details both large and small. From Q-tips to toothpaste to snacks and games, she provided it all. The availability of different sizes of dog kennels was a blessing. The location to Gettysburg offered opportunity for peace and calm away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but was only a short drive away from all of the sites. You have a tremendous gift in serving travelers! Incredible stay worth 10 stars!!

STOP looking - This is it!

If you're looking for a clean, kid-friendly, pet-friendly place to stay in Gettysburg, look no further! This house has it all! It's even better in person than the pictures. The beds & linens were top notch. Kayla has thought of everything! Her attention to detail may have spoiled us to future rentals. My grandchildren loved the goodies Kayla left for them & loved playing in the backyard. It was so nice for them to have their pups with them, too. Kayla responded quickly to all inquiries. Many thanks to Kayla & Trisha for letting us stay at their beautiful home and for being so gracious.

The Best!

If you are considering this property at all, don’t look any further - just book it. I have stayed at many VRBOs and this has been the best. From the initial contact to the end of our stay and everything in between, it was amazing. Kayla has thought of everything and is helpful and responsive. This was our first time using a VRBO with our pup, so I was worried it may not be clean (I even packed my own cleaning supplies just in case) but it was immaculate. I didn’t have to use my cleaning supplies at all. Our teenage grandson loved having his own room. Lots of space, fun things to do, very nice back yard and close to everything. The decorations, amenities, and attention to detail are great. My family had the best time. We hope to be back with our younger grandsons in a few years so they can have a great experience in Gettysburg too.

I grew up in the Gettysburg area, but was living in Los Angeles and New York for the past 10 years. I decided that I wanted to give my yellow lab Trisha the yard she'd always deserved, so I moved back home in the spring of 2021.  Living in the city truly makes you appreciate the small town way of life and I hope when you visit you'll be able to feel that difference.

Trisha is a 6 year old Labrador and she enjoys: tennis balls thrown from a nerf launcher and ONLY the nerf launcher, bacon, the beach, puddles, mud, water of any kind really, treatos, cucumbers, her cousins, Aunts & Uncles, Nonna & PopPop, and LAMBCHOP aka Lamby.
Trisha does not enjoy: Squirrels & nail trims
