La Dovecote Sarlat, is a beautiful character house set in a peaceful valley, yet only a 5 minute drive to historic Sarlat with numerous shops and restaurants.
It is a perfect base for touring all the attractions of the “Golden triangle”, with chateaux ,caves, gardens all just minutes drive away, before returning to relax ,take a dip in your own private heated pool ( heated 18/05-15/09) surrounded by a large garden with badminton and table tennis.
This property has the added advantage of having two ensuite bedrooms in the main house plus an apartment with one ensuite bedroom, ideal for multi generation family holidays, where you can have your own space when needed. It is only ever let as one, so the pool is your own. The owners house is completely separate and private on the property if you need anything.
The charming restored house has all modern facilities for your comfort, is thoughtfully furnished with a huge living room and kitchen. The two bedrooms in the house have air conditioning, whilst the apartment bedroom with its thick stone walls, a fan.
Take an evening stroll or just enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife all from the comfort of your own terrace, while lighting up your barbecue.
A tranquil haven after a busy day sight seeing.

Lovely stay

Perfect

Our first time in the Dordogne, we found the location a perfect base to visit all of the main attractions in the region. The Gite was well equipped and catered for all of our needs. We would certainly return for another trip.

Beautiful gite that is spotlessly clean

We loved staying at La Dovecote. It is a beautiful gite that is spotlessly clean and well looked after. The owners are close by if needed but gave us the privacy we like when on holiday. We were also made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and throughout our stay. Thank you very much to you both.

Beautiful property in perfect location

Really enjoyed our 2 weeks in this lovely rural property located within 15-20 minutes drive of so many things to see & do. The house & pool were excellent, very well fitted out with great attention to detail. The house stayed cool in the very hot weather & really appreciated the air con in the bedrooms. We hope to return for another visit in the future.

Wonderful house in beautiful setting

Absolute gem of house. The owners have thought of everything. Location is in the countryside but within a very short drive of lots of the "must see and do's" in the area. Thoroughly reccommend. Vanessa was amazing, so helpful and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for more.

Wonderful holiday at La Dovecote

Truly excellent stay at Vanessa and Paul’s lovely gite. We had everything we needed in to make our holiday relaxing and fun. Kids adored the pool and exploring the garden and stream. Quick to travel to all the surrounding beauty spots, 10 mins to Sarlat. We would thoroughly recommend this for a good holiday especially for multi-generational trips where the grandparents can come along but also have their own apartment. Vanessa and Paul were fantastic and friendly hosts who helped us with everything we needed. We hope to return one day…

Absolutely fabulous!

Beautiful property, well maintained and peaceful. Everything you need for the perfect getaway. Amazing hosts. Fantastic pool, table tennis table badminton net and many other games and books for enjoyment. Very close to the gem of a town Salat and Domme and perfectly located for many other points of interest. I am 100% recommending La Dovecote you will not be disappointed. Excellent!

Tranquil gite in the heart of the Dordogne

La Dovecote is a fabulous characterful gite with all modern amenities, and tastefully decorated. The open plan living space is perfect for a family holiday, with cooking facilities indoors and on the outdoor bbq. There is so much space for the kids to explore in the fields, with the addition of a ping pong table and badminton net provided. The pool area is beautiful and very relaxing. We loved the location as it is with in 10 minutes of Salat town and just 15/20 minutes from many other beautiful towns. Vanessa and Paul are excellent hosts.

Family reunion

Wonderful. The gite was lovely & very comfortable. The pool was really appreciated after some long days of touring. The house is very close to Sarlat which is a terrific village. The area surrounding the property is beautiful. The property is close to many beautiful villages. We can not say enough. We spent a wonderful week at Vanessa & Paul’s gite. They were very helpful & live next door but gave us complete privacy. We are dreaming of coming back.

A fabulous gite in the Dordogne

This is a great place to stay if you want to explore the Dordogne. Just a short drive from Sarlat, we loved that we could escape the crowds and relax in this lovely property when we had finished a trip out. Vanessa and Paul were perfect hosts - we had lots of privacy, but they were on hand to answer any questions we had. The property was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed. The addition of badminton rackets and a table tennis table helped keep the whole family happy. Obviously, the beautiful swimming pool was well used too!! We had an amazing fortnight - there was so much to see and explore in the area!

Home from home

From the excellent welcome to the departure we had a wonderful stay. House was very well equipped with very comfortable beds and everything you could wish for. Great location within 10 minutes to the beautiful town of Sarlat and very easy access to the Dordogne river. Very peaceful location with a lovely vista. Would certainly recommend to others but the property wouldn’t be suitable for the less mobile as the outside area for the main house is on a different level to the rest of the property. Would certainly return as and when we are back in this part of the world.

Séjour splendide

Nous avons passé une semaine magnifique dans cette super maison qui est très bien équipée. La climatisation est bien utile dans les chambres et on y dort très bien. La piscine a fait le bonheur de nos deux garçons. La maison est bien placée à proximité de pleins de belles balades et sites incontournables de la région. Une semaine est bien trop courte pour tout voir. On reviendra sûrement. Vanessa et Paul sont charmants et ont été là très rapidement en cas de moindre souci car ils habitent juste à côté. We will be back !!! Merci +++

Superbe maison avec emplacement idéal

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La maison est décorée avec goût, bien équipée et a un jardin magnifique. L'étendue du jardin a fait le bonheur de nos enfants, ainsi que la piscine chauffée. La maison est idéalement située pour visiter la région, à 15 minutes de multiples points d'intérêts (châteaux, villages, jardins, grottes et bien sûr Sarlat juste à côté) Nos hôtes ont été très accueillants et ont veillé à ce que nous manquions de rien. Nous les remercions et recommandons chaudement de séjourner chez eux.
